Whatever Happened to SHANNA REED, "Polly Cooper" from TVs MAJOR DAD? 

Major Dad was such a great show! I just rewatched it on Netflix recently. very underrated

I also remember Shanna Reed appearing also on a episode of Simon & Simon. I watched Major Dad when it was shown in reruns on the old USA Network that had a superior programming in the 90's before NBC purchased it and converted it to the sister network of NBC.

I first watched Major Dad in its initial airing on CBS, running from September 17, 1989 until the show's finale on May 17, 1993. Major Dad was the first series ever syndicated exclusively to a cable network during its network run, when it began airing in reruns on the USA Network from September 20, 1993 to August 29, 1999. Turner South also reran the show from June 1, 2004 to April 28, 2006.

I just watched Major Dad again a few months ago and it's still a great show! After this I watched Simon & Simon which I had never watched before and Shanna Reed was in an episode of SImon & Simon called "The Dark Side Of The Street" from season 4. It's a great episode where a grrom hires the Simons to find out who's making threats to prevent him from marrying his Boss's daughter (Reed).

Major Dad is such a fun show that sadly never comes up in conversations when it comes to the other '90s sitcoms that are far more remembered. Shanna Reed brought a lot of wit and energy into her role as Polly, and I think the chemistry between her and Gerald McRaney was what made the show so special. It saddens me that Shanna chose to live her life out of the spotlight in the years after Major Dad's cancellation, but wherever she's at, I hope she's doing just fine. Thanks for the update, Steve! I have a very special request for you. Can I please suggest you do a "Whatever Happened To..." video on Kelly Coffield, who is an original cast member from the groundbreaking early '90s FOX sketch comedy series In Living Color?

I stumbled upon Major Dad on the CRCL network and watched the first two episodes. What a great and fun family show. I remember watching with my whole family. We used to love it!!!!!!! The three daughters on it were very cute and very relatable. Great if you ever need to just sit and laugh. It was not over the top corny either.

I had forgotten about Major Dad. I loved that show and Shanna Reed was outstanding! I really appreciate this update and it is great to hear Shanna is doing well. What could be better than seeing Gladys Knight with Loni Anderson and Sondra Currie (I am a huge fan of her sister Cherie from The Runaways. The women in that family are all gorgeous and talented). Time for me to watch Major Dad once again. Thanks for the great video!

Beverly Archer was great on this show as Gunnery Sgt Bricker. It would be hard to find someone that has played two characters more different than Gunnery Sgt Bricker on Major Dad and Iola on Momma’s Family.

I loved Shanna Reed on "The Colbys"- I felt so bad for her character Adrienne, just trying to do right by a son and a husband that was just eclipsed by a beautiful Tracy Scoggins...no mean feat as Shanna was no slouch herself! Thanks for reminding me of Ms. Reed's remarkable work. 👏

There was one episode I’ll always remember, was when Jameson Parker (A.J. Simon from Simon and Simon) was on Major dad as Polly Cooper’s ex boyfriend….. Best line of the show, if not the whole series was when Jameson Parker’s character asks Gerald’s character ‘have we met before?’ and Gerald answers ‘in a previous life’ Just curious, who were the 3 girls who played the daughters and what happened to them?
