WHATS IN THE BOX" kit review and I hope to be completing this model when i have the necessary skills to do it the justice it deserves in a bout 10 years time. I have a model collection/stash of 33-40 1/72 Spitfires which i am currently building badly for the amusement or to the annoyance of my fellow RU-vidrs, As my competence levels are not sufficient to complete this model it will be held in reserve for when i deem the time is right. If you would like to see the of 33 Spitfires there is a link to my collection below. As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 Spitfire models i will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic RU-vid skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic.
Follow me on my novice modelling journey whilst I try desperately to overcome my midlife crisis. Questions and suggestions always welcome. Please like and subscribe and follow me on my ride!
Everything featured in this video has been paid for out of my own pocket. I am not endorsed by any person or company mentioned in this video.

Hi Andy. Yes I think that this kit needs to meet messr's Black &Decker , but not in a bad way. You can use the tool to knock off the worst of the flash but you can also use it to sand down the rivets and raised panel lines. Also a kit like this is a blank canvass for you to practice your skills. Like eliminating joint lines in the fuselage halves and replacing parts and scratchbuilding them , like the large pitot tube on the wing. This might be a pig of a kit but it has potential. The missing propeller blade can be made out of plasticard and sanded to shape. I said before that I thought that this aircraft looked like an American aircraft. Well look up a Martin Mariner , there like twins. Your bag of green bits I can identify as parts from a Matchbox MK IX Wellington kit. The nose/chin section and exhausts give it away. I really need to take this nerd hat off. This model is not full of eastern promise but it has opportunities. Good luck bud.

Hi Brian. Probably best if i just get my fake Dremel out then. Have actually relised that i have a spare set of props from Enola Gay, checked them and size wise they are very close, so problem solved i reckon. Yeah your right even has the gull wing shaped wings, tail is a bit different but pretty close, who spied on who? LOL i almost asked for someone to identify them. well done Brian.

The kit itself looks basic as the most of other products issued by this company. Even so, interesting subject. I have several models of this manufacturer, built in late 80s and early 90s, mostly in 1/100 scale. The majority of them used to be supplied with glue and silver paint in small aluminum containers. In these years no one really cared about accuracy, but the fun was a key. I guess these dark green parts are from Vickers Wellington bomber, released by Matchbox and re-released by Revell later, in XXIst century. But I could be wrong.

Hello there @tomaszkowszynski9653 and thanks for watching, i think its an interesting kit and i wont be attacking it with the Black & Decker, just bit of silly-ness to lighten my mood. Actually kind of glad i have it a 70's East German kit is a bit of a conversation piece. You're the second person to suggest a Wellington for the mystery bag, unfortunately i currently dont have one to compare them with.

I also have quite a few of the VEB kits as well. They did produce some pretty unusual subjects at the time. That 1/100 Mil Mi-10 is huge! I wonder if the glue in the aluminum containers is usuable? Not sure I want to pop one open just to find out, though.

This box art was made and later in the 80s eith the black area on the box. And then Master Modell issued it after the Wall fell. When we visited our East German family we always bought 1:87 trains from Piko etc and Model kits. I still have all of them and i collect GDR kits from KVZ, DIWI and Plasticart. Not much to say beyond what others have said, Andy. A case of getting what what you paid for, and a chance to practice your modelling skills. I must say, the Czech KP kits of the same era are much better detailed, though made of the same hard brittle plastic. There's apparently not even a colour call out for this kit, and the modelling tips seem to be a rip off of FROG. The Trumpeter version is light-years better, and the cheapest place to pick up this and other Chinese made kits is Hobby Easy, Hong Kong. The going price there for a Trumpeter Be-6 is around £39.

Hi Jeremy as per the vid i wasn't expecting much from this, i was pretty chuffed to win some of the other kits like the Lancaster and some of the modern stuff which was below retail but when i won this i kinda shrugged and went "meh OK we shall see what we shall see". Still painted up its a big kit to add to a possible collection of flying boats, i'll just have to put it at the back of the shelf LOL.

hello there @IamNasman and thanks for watching. No idea what green stuff, blue stuff is LOL so just had a quick ebay search and oh i see, i think. Actually remembered that i have a spare set of props from my Enola Gay build and having checked they are pretty damn close, so will probs just use two of them as TBH this kit does not deserve any money throwing at it LOL. i kind of find it interesting though, East German 1975 and i think i paid fair money for it so one day i will build it, though i will probably use my fake Dremel and leave the Black & Decker for something a little more deserving LOL. Thanks for subscribing, i try to put 5 ish vids up per week, tomorrow i'll be painting up my Horsa glider and a Dakota hoping to get them finished for Market Garden Sept 17th. good luck with your next build be seeing you andy.

Stop with the negativity, you can fix it up and get a decent looking model out of it. With the props I would cut two circles of clear plastic the diameter of the props, cut the rest of the blades off and glue the plastic circles to the hubs, put the hubs in a drill and rub the clear discs with emery to get a blurred finish, then airbrush some black lines and fade them in the direction of the prop rotation so that it looks like spinning props. I'd cut that cockpit blank out, make a floor and some seats then you've got summat to look at through the windows. Speaking of windows, dip them in Johnsons Klear and let them dry, it'll get rid of any scratches and make the plastic look like glass. See... it ain't all bad!
@TheNoviceModeller
@TheNoviceModeller 20 дней назад
Hello again @martinoconnor4314 ah yes i have seen this technique and it does look pretty good, though since uploading this i have reaslised that i have 4 alternate props from my B-29, checked them and they are pretty damn close for size, so thats one prob solved. your cockpit suggestion though does sound like a winner, sure i can find a couple of seats somewhere. TBH a lot of this was horse play, i am looking for a subject to attack with my Black & Decker at some point, but this is not quite BAD enough. I think for this generally i will be quite happy to keep it relatively simple, i think that with these vintage kits the simplicity of them is at times quite attractive.

@@TheNoviceModeller Lol, I know you were having a laugh about this kit but according to Scalemates Revell re-boxed this kit in 1991. Hello again @tankwright5489 i quite often buy what i think i am going to call a "WTF is that kit" often by manufacturers that i have never heard of, which being a novice is no big deal. Another viewer from Germany has pointed me in the direction of these GDR / Warsaw pact? manufacturers "KVZ, DIWI and Plasticart. Also from KP, Dubena, Yunyi Technik, Krugozor and others." i have heard of KP but the others are WTF's? he reckons there were 119 kits produced by Platicart and this was 116. i think i will be sitting down at some point over the next few days and investigating EBAY for a few of these others. I actually have a bit of a thing for Ventura kits produced in New Zealand by a guy called Malcolm Reynolds, they are commonly referred to as "garage kits" they strangely manage to be beautiful and goddam awful at the same time, i trash talked and trash built a Spitfire mk22 from this company, got a bit of a bollocking on here for doing so LOL, i have since found them rather fascinating and have a range of 10-15 Ventura, Tasman and Jays Model Kits from NZ, mostly Spitfires and Seafires as that was Ventura's specialty, a few of them to be featured on an upcoming "haul vid". no idea whether you have heard of Ventura but i have attached a few links below so as you can view them, my treatment of the one i built is pretty absurd, but i have obviously changed my appreciation of them since these vids were produced in March best regards andy be seeing you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mNBE08dT3iQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p_jyuOuz67Y.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--uty-UV6iOw.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b0WOB4Y61m4.html Incidentally the Testors mk 22 i threw together in 1 minute and 35 seconds, for an experiment / laugh, i don't always conform to normalcy or logic LOL. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mUM83rinGd4.html

Beriev Be-6, "Madge." Designed during WW2, but used in the early Cold War. This is probably the only available kit of an aircraft that was used well into the 1970s as an ocean patrol/ anti-submarine aircraft - obscure, but fairly successful.
