I loved this theme as a kid. As an adult, working in small market radio, we read the school lunch menus every morning. I'd play this music while I read the lunch menus. Loved it!

Now that I hear this again (for the first time in some 40 years!), I remember this one. It has some of the flavor of the original Match Game's "A Swingin' Safari" by Bert Kaempfert. The older I get, the more I love this type of music!

These Score Productions themes are ridiculously catchy. I was reminded of this one as Tesco (superstore chain) in the UK are currently running it on their ads. Could listen to it all day lol

I like the short part with the harpsichord best. This is a very catchy theme that stays with you all day.

I remember watching this show when I was a Very Little Boy. It came on every night at around 7 P.M. on Channel 9 here in Los Angeles in the Early 1970's.

@@Aiden-ku6yg KHJ TV Channel 9 - Los Angeles. Channel 9 didn't change their name to KCAL until the 1990's. We also had a Radio Station in Los Angeles back then called KHJ, 930 AM a.k.a. "93KHJ".

I used to watch this up in my bedroom when I was just a teenager. It used to come on a 7 o'clock on Channel 6 here in Philly. In 1972, it moved to Channel 3, but it still came on at the same time; 7 o'clock. Sadly, during the show's last season (1974-75), it came on at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, and I was in school at the time.

Sounds like Atlanta. Channel 11 carried it at 7 from 1969 to 1974, when "Concentration" replaced it. WML then moved to Channel 5, where it aired at 1 PM for the rest of the run.

Before it ended it's run in 1975, Channel 6 moved the show even earlier to 11:30AM, right after Password (and then Brady Bunch reruns), and before Action News at Noon.

Similar story here in Phoenix-WML? originally aired on KTVK (Channel 3) at 6:30 PM; the final season moved to KPHO-TV (Channel 5) at noon.

It has sort of a Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass vive.

The 1968 "What's My Line?" music package ranks as one of my all-time favorites. It is another gem from composer Charles Fox. The first music cue heard in this clip was played after the opening animation, during the panelists' introductions. Other arrangements of the theme were used elsewhere in the show.

I thought it was Bob Israel

Charles Fox worked for Score Productions in the late '60s, so themes he wrote would get credited to Bob Israel. Same thing happened with other Score composers like Edd Kalehoff, Ken Bichel, Walt Levinsky etc.

Second version sounds like WML '68 meets Match Game '73.

A great theme especially the first one! Try to get today's younger people to listen to this! They won't because they don't care about anything from the past that was good and they never will!!!!!

What's My Line? was hosted by John Daly (John Charles Daly) for the CBS version of the show (1950-67). For the syndicated version, the first four seasons were hosted by Wally Bruner (1968-72). For the remaining three seasons, it was hosted by Larry Blyden (1972-75).
