This description of the temperament of Cane Corso’s is completely accurate. I have two males who are brothers. They are 16 months old. The amount of loyalty and affection the Corso shows their owners is unlike any other large breed I’ve ever owned. My boys follow me from room to room and they sit on either side of me. They are my constant shadows. They are sweet, loving, and affectionate big babies that love to cuddle and be loved on. However, don’t let my words fool you!!! They are EXTREMELY protective…and are weary of strangers depending on my reaction. They read me like a book…without me having to say a word. If I’m comfortable and confident, so are they. If I feel like something isn’t right, they sense that immediately and put themselves between myself and the perceived threat…without hesitation. When I personally introduce my boys to new people coming to my home, I do it outside of the house…on neutral ground as they are extremely protective of their property. As far as playing, the inter puppy in them definitely comes out in full effect. They play rough with each other, but they are well aware of their limits. They mouth and play bite each other, however neither of them take it too far. I reinforced that to them as puppies. They play well with they family…remaining calm and respectful at all times. I put my hands in their mouth as puppies, so they learned to control their mouth and bite while playing with myself or my family. These dogs are absolutely amazing…and with the proper training and socializing…you’ll have an incredible, loyal, strong, affectionate family member who will love you and the family unconditionally.

You have a recipe for disaster in your house and you don’t even know it !Two males no matter if they are brothers will end up fighting ,trust me as someone who has grew up all my life nearly 40 years with a pack of Rottweilers living in the house .Two males of a similar age in any mastiff type breed or guarding breed will always clash ,same goes for bitches in my experience .Just keep an eye

@@ryanmccallum2619 Thank you Ryan for your advice. I do agree with you on the fact that two males can fight if given the opportunity and with lack of proper training. I also have had Rottweilers myself along with Neapolitan Mastiffs. Guardian breeds are much different and must have constant leadership and know you are the alpha…and respect that. So far I’ve not had a problem. Much like Jason Corey on his channel with two males, I work with them everyday and so far so good. They both respect each other and know their boundaries. Perhaps it’s luck that I’ve never had a problem with two males or perhaps it’s the fact that I’m a responsible owner who educated herself and is constantly working with them on behavior and training. I’ve always had guardian breeds and respect them for the type of dogs they are. I believe with proper training and leadership, you can prevent issues like fighting from ever occurring.

My boss has been thinking about putting her corso down because he has tried to bite 2 people..I felt terrible. He’s very sweet once you get to know him but if she’s not around he acts a lot different. He’s very attached to his owner and she’s ready to give up at this point 👎🏻 I’ll send her this video

Tell her to at least reach out to a trainer that's accustomed to working with this breed. She should just return it to the breeder. She probably didn't probably socialize it and now the dog has to pay for her poor ownership.

This guy's channel is amazing and the reason me and my wife purchased a cane Corso for my six-year Son's birthday two years ago I know everybody has an opinion, but it is honestly the best dog we Could've asked for. The dog came from Russia and they've been breeding through the same bloodline for years certificate came with the breakdown for The father, who was Boss the forth and the mother was Roxy the forth we named him Loki he is now two years old and 130 pounds we have an eight year old son now, five year-old daughter and a four month old baby, which he absolutely adores Highly recommend this breed. not only a Great family, dog, but a devoted and loyal guardian for our house and property.. cane Corso rock only way I can describe. It is a gentle beast towards his family, and one of the greatest threats to an intruder that you can purchase.💪

I haven't read all the comments, but do they treat other dogs in the household as their "family" if raised with them as a puppy?

You have to make sure which CC your going for. If you want a pet that is not much trouble then get the modern line. If you want a protection dog then get the traditional line. The modern line is ok for pretty much anybody. Correct socialization from an early age and their not really a problem, most they'll do is bark at strangers.

Currently I have a 100lb American Staffordshire service dog who is 11 years old in a 2nd puppyhood where suddenly she thinks she needs to frolic with other dogs when in dog friendly establishments otherwise she is calm and relaxed in other stores(somehow she knows the difference) but I'm not sure how much longer she will be with me 🙏🏻 I am considering a cane corso as a prospect for my next service dog because of their size to counter balance me walking(gait) as well as medical needs...what are your thoughts??

Is their a difference between a male and a female corso? I have a male Cane Corso who is 7 years old an very good example of all the points you made. I get compliments on his temperament all of the time especially at the vet. The vets are always surprised by his great attitude regardless of his size. The vet was very stand-offish with him due to the clinic having another corso who goes to the office and is a female who is very aggressive. I am wondering if that’s just the difference between male and female.

At what age do you don't get your Cane Corso ears clipped. My main veterinarian suggested I'm passed the grace period, however another vet said it could be done. It he told old that's fine. I don't want to cause any extra pain on him.

💁🏻‍♀️I know some praise the prong collar but I nearly lost a finger AND my life when one of the prongs pierced a finger because of the bacteria that lingered on the prong collar, etc... We used one when we first got my girl and although now we only need to use a traditional martingale collar I wash and sterilize them like I did the prong collar AFTER a 5day hospital vacation(totally an accident that could have been avoided🙄)👍🏻

I'm curious, my corso is 5 months old. And he seems to be insecure and slow to accept strangers. He has been socialized alot. We do brewerys, Lowes, hangs out at the park with the daughter. Is it just his age? Or should I search for specialized trainer? No aggression or goes out of his way to bark at people. But is not welcoming at all. It's been 3 months and he still barks at the Landlord that he sees everyday

Yes you described them well…Exactly like my “baby” Corso who is 18 months old. The only thing he doesn’t like is other dogs…we’ve socialized him to like people and be friendly/peaceful. Working on getting him to calm down when he sees other dogs is tough. 🫤

Funny, my Corso loves all dogs and human females but it takes her 10 mins to warm up to a human male's that are not part of the pack. Once they are accepted we are all good.
