It seems like every time I drop the 690 it costs me money, so I was trying to err on the side of caution here. 99% of me knew I could have made it farther up the infamous 4x4 road, but there was also 1% of me that didn't want to crash and mess up my bike. I made a few run-ups and always chickened out at the last moment. I even turned around to leave and then went back for one more shot, then again leaving dejected... It always looks flatter and easier through the eyes of the GoPro, but these rock sections were a good 8 feet tall I would say. Taller than me for sure.
I knew I was in for a tough one when I saw 4 broken Jeeps before I even got to the tough stuff. I didn't know what to expect! And the difficulty didn't disappoint!
The best surprise of the day was the enormous Magnolia Mill, just beyond the start of the road. The old gold mill is really a sight to see.
