It's that time of the year again for tilling. A quick break from truck videos for a while, thought I'd get back to the tractors for a bit, nothing too exciting. More '61 GMC in the near future though!
Bet that made the old ticker skip a beat seeing that gas flow... what an awesome tractor! No knock, no smoke, free is always good! Sounds like she still has a lot of great years left...nice. Great vid Jake!
+Cattmann And right next to the exhaust too! Yep it's a goodun, I couldn't believe it when he told me he wanted to just get rid of it, dad and I didn't hesitate one bit in loading that sucker into the truck!
***** So you said you had just done some repair work for him, but did he tell you why he wanted to get rid of this one? ...got a new tractor and needed space?...he was tired of the dirty red color and wanted to go JD green? ...amazing.. Regardless, bet that made for an exciting day...Congrats Jake!
+59chevt I think it's the 2nd weekend in August again. We have the annual meeting this coming Wednesday so I'll check on the date and shoot you another comment.
Looks very similar to my Wheel Horse C-160. The guy i bought it from said it was a 1978. The local Hardware Store that sold it brand new said ni it was a 1971. Either way its still a good old tractor.
Just picked up a C141 with tiller for 100 bucks a couple weeks ago...havent gotten it running yet and afraid the 8 speed is shot. Nice video gives me the inspiration to get of my butt and work on mine lol
'78 C-141. No excessive safety switches, simple wiring, higher horse power, I like the styling better. That's about all I can think if. They are pretty much the same except for 2 more HP and the sheet metal. Frame, rear end and attachments are all the same/interchangeable.
5Tractorguy thanks, by the way I got mine last Saturday, only downside is a automatic/ hydro transmission, and the hydraulic lift was taken off to replace hoses and never put back, and fix a manual lever, I need to find out how to put it back, been looking for some diagrams. Anyway l wished at least it was the 8 speed hi/low gears.
Harry Balls after 2 years I have the C-141 hydraulic hoses all new and hooked back, bought an used valve the original was bad, replaced a crank shaft oil seal, replaced the head gasket just for fun. Great running tractor, I got me a snow plow and tiller attachments for it. Also got me a C-120 manual transmission which I repaired orange and the hood in vintage white color, also bought a C-125 auto one of those black hoods and finally a IH Cub Cadet 124 😄 a huge time consuming work for these tractors just so, I'm done with these gt no more 😅😅 so tempting when I see another one for sale, but just don't have time for the work involved.
