Loading and hauling wood chips back in August. Took 4 loads with the 1-Ton to cover the paths out back. We get a lot of runoff when it rains and the chips help hold back the water nicely.
Gotta love the old Ford's. They knew how to build a solid tractor that just ran....just ran. If it where mine I'd be giving that loader tractor a total paint job because I'd say that's a keeper
Good old tractors doing what they were meant to do. As much as I like those tractors, your bright red Chev/ GMC truck looks just great. Thanks for this one Jake.
It's J A K E ! HI, Jake! Looks like summer treated you well. Glad of it! Those chips work VERY well on places like that. My Sweetie keeps the garden (HER garden) covered with them except the raised beds. Haul them from about 2 miles where the power line right-of-way guys dump theirs. Looks like Pop is motoring right along! I had to get rid of all mine except the old Snapper hand mower and the Craftsman with the opposed Vanguard because since we can't get any yard help we decided we might as well get something we could use and not abuse. I kept the gas jobs for spares and got a Stihl battery 20 inch hand mower for her and a Craftsman battery zero turn for ME! So far, so good with a heater under the Craftsman to keep the batteries warm. Between all my Agent Orange and AFIB and congestive heart failure i'm having to slow way down from not much BUT all is a lot better than it could be! Able to wobble around. Know you're still picking and singing tenor. HI to all up there and Happy Everything and God Bless ALL Yall!
Those loaders are handy thing to have. Jake do you have any experience with the aftermarket tiller that mounted on the front of an L. I believe it is called rotavator and came out of Berkeley Ca.
Hey, I’m new here but I was wondering about 8 years ago you had a 1961 GMC 5000 and I was wondering if it that truck requires a CDL. I bought one a few days ago but I can’t find anything on it. I was wondering if you have knowledge on that. It’s would be great!
The '61 doesn't require one because it's under 26,000 GVW. Anything over 26K requires a CDL. I do have to have a DOT health card though. Aside from that, just a regular license. If yours has air brakes though you'll have to get an air brake endorsement.
I've got an update video coming sometime this month Cowboy... I'm moving out of New England beginning of May, so time has been very short since the turn of this year with getting everything ready. Still enjoy working on tractors and all that, just no time to film projects!
Hey Jake! Not quite that I understand the sequence here. At first, it's clear that you're taking chips off the driveway and putting them into the back of the truck, Maybe I just don't know where on your property that you're working, but I thought that the next step would have been to start at bottom of the hill and gradually make your way up, dumping chips as you went. Then back down over the chips with the truck and do it again. Instead, it looks like you're dumping them on the asphalt after having just loaded them?
