I have wheelie'd my 939 and road it out in 1st gear. but I have never tried to continue it into second gear. I don't have a quick shifter. and I'm also old and I'm not a risk taker anymore like I would be if I was your age. just having my front wheel a foot off the ground in 1st is enough for me for some occasional enjoyment.
great tutorial, nice history lesson, great video! i do not own a supersport but considering to buy it. love the looks and engine of the bike. Will you upgrade to the akrapovic dual exhaust? that exhaust is just perfect for the supersport
I might have missed it but you forgot to mention to cover your rear brake in case you need to bring the wheel back down quickly. Great vid. Wish I had as much torque on my 18 R6.
Nice work. I also think its good advice to start with power up wheelies, clutching it up when your learning is asking for a loop out. My 1199 has done allot of miles, I’m a little apprehensive about shifting from 1st to 2nd in a wheelie as it can land in neutral sometimes which brings it down hard. So, I tend to start in 2nd and switch to third. Your much newer Super Sport gear box seems tighter and more refined.
Yeah I’ve learned all about that experience of 1st to neutral haha I still do it every now and then. The super sport doesnt have quite enough torque to really pop it up in second like your 1199 I’m sure. I need to try it more. I agree, clutching it can really mess you up lol I’ve just avoided it completely
It is harder on my Supersport than the mt09 for me. Clearly the Supersport has lots of weight at the front and is also longer between the wheels. The mt09 is more compact, lighter(specially at the front) and has torque come a bit sooner. I've been able to lift the mt09 in second gear a few times with no clutch at all, it is very difficult, but I'm not sure it is possible at all on the Supersport, only in first gear, also I find the Supersport throttle response very slow compared to yamaha, it takes time to get used to.
I have recently bought a Ducati Supersport 2017. I am wondering if there is DWC setting on it? I couldn’t find it. Can you tell me the settings that I need to put to do a wheelie? Is it low DTC and something else?
So I tried it and it didn’t seem to pick up for me. I turned off the DWC and have it on sports mode. Might be a dumb question but am I supposed to try and pick up the bike while accelerating? (Like how you would on a bicycle?) Bc when I’m at 5krpm and rev it up I don’t feel bike the front tire dropping back down so I’m assuming it’s not picking up
