When a baby groundhog wants to be your friend  

There's a male gopher that lives under a house I store stuff in. I feed him lettuce and stuff. Not sure if I'd ever pet him but I like having him around.

Groundhogs are like toddlers. As a gardener, I consider them to be my nemesis but they're so stinking cute that I can't stay mad at them. I just wish that we could come to an agreement. Such as, they can eat stuff that needs to be pinched back until late summer. Or they can stick to eating the clover that we put in the lawn. 😂😂😂

omfg they're so cute!!! I've lived around groundhogs for years now and never seen a wee bebe groundhog outside of their den. I've seen plenty of baby skunks (which are quite possibly the cutest little fellas ever) and some juvenile Raccoons while they're in their brief 'no skittishness' phase of development but never groundhogs 😭- very glad you got to see em =D

We had 8 with their mom under a shed near my office on campus. So cute. Then one afternoon I looked out the window and there sat mama fox and three kits playing in the shade of a nearby tree. Soon there were only two baby groundhogs and their mom under the shed 😢. Circle of life…

Got a Groundhog lives in our backyard. Every morning I see the big pudgy climbing fence back into our yard. I usually call out to it. Me - Ya gotta want it , keep climbing , you’re soooo close. 😂😂😂 Groundhog - Hoomans got jokes 😼😾

We had 2 babies and a momma living in our backyard in a hole the mom dug by our stone wall. The two babies were so cute!! Our dumba s s neighbor saw them and Havaheart trapped them and moved them. I was pissed but they did go in his yard too and luckily he didn’t kill them. This was 3 years ago or so. I just spotted an adult in our yard the other day so maybe he only moved the babies, I hadn’t seen any groundhogs for a few years though so who knows, I was just happy to see another one.

Spring of 2023 there was a single groundhog baby living with his mom in an old drainage pipe at the end of my driveway. Id put food out for him and mom. The baby was a pudgy lil thing so i named him MR. Puggles. He was in my yard and got scared by a car or something and ran straight up my driveway. He stood up on his back legs and looked left, but there was a railroad tie retaining wall, looked straight a concrete wall, looked right my house. He kept looking left, right, straight, right, left, right... he seemed so lost and confused as to how get out of there when had he turned around and went the way he came he wouldve been fine, which he finally did but there was about 20 seconds of sheer terror in his eyes. It was funny, now MR. Puggles is grown and went off to find a Mrs. Puggles and make little baby puggles.

When you don't mind being used for your food because they are so damn cute.

Did you take them all home with you? Lol. Would've been hard not to!!

Oh, yeah, freaking adorable until the day you’re walking in your garden and the ground gives out under you and you find yourself with a leg sunk to above the knee into one of their tunnels. I felt lucky not to have broken anything, unlike the girl down the road who experienced the same thing and broke her leg. They really are cute, but I’d be happy to never see one again on my own property.
