Reminds me of the time when a peer of mine at my church extorted kids out of a bunch of tickets so she could win the game (which she did), and she asked me how many tickets I had (so she could gloat), and when I refused to answer she called me "high and mighty," and I told her "well at least I came by my tickets honestly," and she said "what did you say?" and I said "you heard me" and walked away
@@alzhanvoidsansado But that doesn’t make sense. Because others aren’t making the choice so it’s *not* hard for them. It may *seem* like it from a outside perspective but it’s not for *you* the one making the choice and therefore isn’t a hard choice. What others think isn’t more important.
Ahh, Goku in Dragon Ball NT. Gets kidnapped, Vegeta hangs up on the ransom call, and Goku eats them into poverty iirc. I'm never watching NT again so can't confirm.
And at the end, they all end up surrounded by hired mercenaries, and shot. 'Monster': "Bruh, what were you thinking? Do you want to know why I seem so callous? It's was FOR YOU. I wanted you to give up, while the going was still good. And wanted my family to not be stupid, and believe that everything was fine in the world, when it isn't, and relying on me when they shouldn't. I wanted you to give up your life of crime. But at the end of the day, y'all couldn't avoid natural selection, no matter how hard I tried to convince you otherwise. I have twelve million dollars to spend on laying waste to my enemies, while you're penniless. You're all stupid, and this is all YOUR fault. All these mercenaries? Now they're going to go home and be able to feed their families, while I ain't gonna have one and be penniless. Who is the real monsters here? Not them. Not me. YOU...stupids."
I imagine him killing his family and sending the video to the criminals to spite them which results in the criminals working with the good guys to take him down
I want to see this seriously done in a movie. Like the first fifteen minutes builds up to this scene, and then the real plot isn't about these criminals at all. It's just the other guy having a tangentially related adventure and occasionally mentioning that his parents are "probably dead by now."
I love how Caleb hinted towards the criminal not being that bad since he didnt ask for all of the guys money, and just 2 mil out of his 14 mil. I like stuff like that.
@@HydroniteTB one million isn't a lot though, nor is 2. 10, even 50 million isn't all that much. Best case, 1 mil lets you be able to survive with the bare minimum with no worries, which is more than some have, but it wouldn't get you anything you desire. No luxuries of any kind. So, yeah, to some people, it would literally save their life, but only to the point that they can eat and sleep comfortably, not actually enjoy life.
*HE HUNG UP ON ME!* 1:10 The look of pure, entitled frustration was so perfect. Your acting skills are on point. The I'm sure he misses the times when being hung up on was the biggest thing he had to worry about. How the guy didn't even flinch or shift his hat before dismissing the call was hilarious. I thought the monster was gonna show up outside his door, shrouded in an aura of Black Airforce energy, not for the hostages, but for recreation.
Kidnapper: "You can go home." Family: "Home? You seen that guy? No way, this is our home, now." "Get out! Go home!" "So mom and dad, you live in here, we're going to live in this room across the hall."
To be fair I would do the same if it was about my mom XD I mean they can do whatever they want to do with her ... altho with that said it don't mean they would WANT to do much with her ...
The scammer was actually such a good man, he just wanted to keep Caleb’s money safe from the bank and he also felt bad for the hostages, since they had been through enough.
Safe from the bank? Nah, try safe from the government since it's breaking into people's safe deposit boxes and flat out stealing the contents. Even the judge on the case was shocked.
Caleb uses so many of the same tricks and general premises/characters in so many videos, and yet the sketches _never_ feel stale. It's genuinely so impressive, I really don't get how he does it.
@@fluffy9055 not exactly. In better words "it's impressive how he can reuse material, and still keep the audience engaged" the ability to sell the same thing to multiple audiences, or even the same audience more than once, is a huge skill and part of being a comedian, as much as is coming up with new content.
@@fluffy9055 Not really? I'm saying he uses those similar elements so effectively and creatively that it never feels like the content is repetitive. At worst, I'd say it could be considered a critique, except even that would imply I see it as a negative at all, which I don't. It's like artists- he has a style, similarities that are clearly CalebCity, but that doesn't mean he is overusing them or anything. I guess maybe I worded it poorly, but my intention definitely wasn't to criticize those aspects. I really enjoy those bits, in fact.
Just letting you know stuff like this doesn’t work on the big screen or television, RU-vid has those quick serotonin hits, but he would have to make 30-60 minutes of comedy content weekly for writing big time.
why do you want him to go work for someone when he's already his own boss and doing very well. you complain about the man but always wanna go work for him.
Biiittchhh those hostages were prolly bawling crying after finding out who they gon get blackmailed for😂🤣🤣😂😂good looking out that he was considerate enough to understand their traumas
plot twist: this guy is just the descendant of that guy from “when the hero is just as smart as the villain” and knew this would set the criminal off and let his family go
The fact that you play all the characters in most of your skits, have maintained this diy value, and still garnered this many subscribers is really telling to just how talented and entertaining you are.
I always think about the fact that he's one of the last surviving channels like this. Short diy skits used to be the most popular content on youtube and people moved on from almost everyone but Caleb, he's just too damn funny
1:52-1:56 I was just as shocked as the criminal by that response. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an attempt at blackmail fail so spectacularly as this one before.
Like, I have a terrible relationship with my parents. Abysmal. I would probably respond the same way. But then he forgot he had kids, and burned millions of dollars in front of people desperate for money. I'm glad Caleb made sure to really sell it so people in my shoes would be laughing hysterically like everyone else
Stalin sort of was like this. His son was captured during the war the Nazis proposed a prisoner exchange and Stalin essentially said "fuck you go kill him"
If they ain't about to traffic/sell the hostages and didn't reveal any info to them, letting them go would probably be for the best. The difficulty is the exchange nonsense you see in movies. Thats just asking for trouble. If there's no exchange to be done though, well its fairly safe to just let em go. Just don't let the hostages see anything or you gotta kill em either way.
I have a friend who would definitely handle the situation like that. Not because he's a bad person, but because he legitimately despises his entire family due to them being the terrible people in the equation.
kidnapper: aight y'all can go home... kidnapped people: no, we're not going... as a matter of fact, we like it here and we'll stay... you go! kidnapper: the hell is wrong with you people... this is my house and you need to leave now kidnapped people: what house? oh, the one we just set on fire? kidnapper: you monsters... y'all are evil evil
Everyone is talking about how talented and unique you are (because you are of course). But can we a second to admire how clean those fits are 😤 bro is dripped out of his mind
i think it has to do with the generally very casual way of talking and type of words they use randomly interrupted with a very specific and slightly obscure word.
Man, this series is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I really have to compliment you on how you're bringing it to life. If it can make you happy, I'm taking inspiration from Caleb for a superhero of Jamaican nationality. I look forward to the next episode with anxiety and emotion.
The original saying, "Blood is thicker than water", used to say "The Blood of the Covenant is thicker than the Water of the Womb." I.E. F*CK YER FAMILY. You didn't get to choose them, and you didn't choose to be born. Find those who will be your allies, and stop letting something so petty as family ties hold you back from accomplishing great things. When prompted, the Israelites killed their own family and friends when their actions threatened to prevent them from establishing their own nation, during their era in the wilderness. So yes, I do empathize with the so-called 'monster'. He is not the aggressor, just a reactionary. If he doesn't love his family all that much, it's probably because his family expected his love arbitrarily, rather than earned it. And he doesn't want to fund terrorists.
