I’d still recommend watching every episode from 2005 onwards. There’s no need to edit and upload a reaction for each one, but there’s a lot that’s crucial to the ongoing plot in those earlier seasons.

I personally don't recommend watching any of the Classic Who until after you watch the 2005+ revival. Some people are telling you to skip around, but I truly think the show is best enjoyed just starting at the 2005 series and working your way up to the current stuff from there.

Great reaction. First off the fantasy direction is new for Disney Who - you want aliens etc? You are going to LOVE the preceding series ... Sutek was an Egyption god (i know it's more complicated than that but let go with that) from a 4th Doctor story called The Pyramids of Mars, more on that later... Nice to see (iirc this rather than the finale) a colourised picture of Susan (Carol Ann Ford) the doctors grand daughter (from the new edit The XXXXKX in colour i believe). Also really nice to have Mel back (Bonnie Langford who unbelievably celebrates being 60 TODAY iirc), better than her original 1980's run😀 I think most of us (and it will grow the channel a lot i expect, it usually does) would prefer you to do all the episodes from 2005 on (some trolls will say skip the 13th Doctor but dont't) - take your time if necessary but there are so many good stories you can't really miss any out.... And we'd live to see it😀 Tempted to suggest watching Pyramids of Mars (possibly the new Tales of the Tardis version if you could access it) but wouldn't yet - get settled in to nuwho (2005+) then we might suggest some Classic Who. There is a thing (short linking episodes in nuwho) that some reactors miss, so make sure we tell you when those are - but you're going to enjoy nuwho from what you said. *X used as a redaction for spoilers...

Bare minimum for 2005 in my opinion: 2005: 01/02 - Rose/End of the World, 06 - Dalek, 08 - Father's Day, 09/10 - The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, 12/13 - Finale 01/02 could be posted together, as well as 09/10 and 12/13 You may record more though. For example, I have excluded a historical episode or the episode that features a known actor. Different people like different things, but I feel that by a majority vote these would be the top ones.

How about first watching ONE story from the first 7 doctors,then the 8th doctor movie,then cracking on with the series from 2005...? An abbreviated chronolgical trip (perhaps the most popular story from each Classic Doctor..?) would very usefully lay the groundwork for the revival series. In any case,I would strongly recommend Pyramids of Mars as the 4th Doctor story, as that ties in neatly with the 15th Doctor era. 21:20

The scene where the Doctor talks to Kate Lethbridge-Stewart about his granddaughter Susan I wasn't particulary keen on the bit where the Doctor mentions he has kids but not yet I kind of wish RTD would stop mixing with that and trying to be too clever with his writing I always prefer to assume the young First Doctor had a galifreyan wife and family back on Gallifrey but at the sametime to keep his whole family background a mystery. Sutekh was a villain from Classic Who in a one-off story and one of the most popular Dr. Who stories of all time called "Pyramids of Mars" with the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and his then companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) I would had preferred an actor in costume playing the role rather than a big CGI dog he wasn't really a god he was one of the alien races called the osirens.

I typed a comment and it's gone. I was suggesting doing a Patreon, or even RU-vid membership for full length watchalongs going back to the 2005 revival. You can still do a select few episodes edited for RU-vid, but then people pay a membership fee to get access to every episode. There's no issues with copyright because you don't actually show the footage from the episode (maybe a 10-15 sync at the start but even that's optional, some people just do a countdown). Editing wise it's easy as you just need to put a timer on the screen incase we need to sync up during the episode. The benefits are that we can pay to watch every episode, you have reactions to every episode so if you decide later you want to edit it for youtube you already have the raw footage, plus it's a little extra income for little effort. It also lets you keep your RU-vid channel diversified. 👽

On the question of what Doctors/Episodes to watch, i'd recommend watching An Unearthly Child (1st Doctor) for background on who Susan is, Spearhead from Space (3rd Doctor) for background on Kate's Dad, Pyramids of Mars (4th Doctor) for background on Sutekh, Trial of a Time Lord (6th Doctor) for background on who Mel is. As for the 2005 revival, unfortunately, it's a fair bit less of a "jump around and watch whatever" affair, that's when it starts to really focus on establishing lore (or re-establishing it if it appeared in Classic Who) and assuming you've watched the episode it was introduced in before building off of it, so if you just watched a random episode from S4, there's a good chance it'll feature something previously established in S2, so, i'd recommend watching it through in order.
