Loving a narcissist is a waste. They will use you, only take from you, and NEVER reciprocate anything. They are vile, callous, and poor excuse for a human being. They only know how to hurt people who have done nothing but be kind to them.

Being with my ex narc for the past 6 yrs. made me observe this very pattern. I think they wanted to feel very important in a way that is disturbing. Instead of building trust with their intimate partners, they destroy the trust that they built with you (in that case lying when they tried to put you in their pedestal). Once they have a committed partner, they can’t stand being loved authentically by one person. Instead they go on and prey on other women that is susceptible to their love bombing. My ex narc was a compulsive pursuer in a relationship. He would go back and forth to the women he were involved before or try to meet women in complicated situation so that going public isn’t an option while having you as their main supply. In the end they destroy the very person that loved them. They are like toddlers testing your love for them. Showing and telling them you love them isn’t enough, they will cheat on your face to make you feel inadequate even if you are more than they deserve. They want to test your love for them so they keep hurting you and when you have enough of their abuse, you leave. Then they tell you, ‘you never loved me because you abandon me’. Well in fact it’s their actions and narcissistic behavior that made you leave or in other cases they discard you and will give silly reasons of the discard. Mine would use, ‘she’s crazy’, ‘she’s a nega-star’, ‘she insults me’, ‘she cheated on me’ et al. So with this pattern of infidelities and emotional abuse (who knows what else) it’s better to walk away. I did walk away and is now rebuilding my life with our daughter. We are struggling financially because I’m not earning enough to provide for my daughter but now we get to laugh and bring with us sunshine every day. No lies, no abuse and no fake love. We only live once, forgive yourself and move forward but never forget the lesson that narc abuse taught you. That is to respect yourself to walk away from what’s hurting and destroying you. I don't think a narc can be rehabilitated. It's hard for someone to get help when they think EVERYONE is wrong except for them! They literally think the world revolves around them.

I am 75 and was married for 47 years to the best man in the world. I was clueless about the real world. Until recently I helped a narcissistic financially for 4 years to the tune of over $ 400,000. I truly believed we would stay so close the rest of our lives. a lady he was chasing called and told me that he laughed and talked about how he used me for money, blabbed my confidences, intimacy. How he goes after wealthy women. He has used them for decades and worked very little. Going to court very soon to sue him for elder abuse and theft by deception.

My ex-husband was one, well had all the signs and I did pretty much go through everything that you mentioned. And it is true, when it comes down to always being kind, they don't get it. Pretty much right at the end, I had no choice but to take a stand and it went down pretty ugly. And I'm a person of faith and I believe others need to be educated in this area because sometimes people will tell you be obedient and that will solve all the problems but it will do the opposite and give more windows of hurt and more.

I’ve uncovered with the help of my therapist that my best “friend” of 30+ years is a narcissist. The worst parts of his personality became much more amplified when the pandemic hit. We used to go on trips together and go to restaurants a lot and when I pushed back on account of the pandemic he became very controlling and he started showing more violent outbursts. I really started to notice his lack of empathy too. I consider myself lucky because he’s definitely more of a covert narcissist. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be married to a narcissist and have children with them.

Asap, leave and never look back. Forgive and forget, or never forget, because it was a lesson. The best thing to do is move on and live your best life. Can't be any worse than putting up with them. If so, I'll take my chances.

Omg this WHOLE presentation is exactly what my ex boyfriend did to me. He wanted to get back with me seven months after I called it quits with him and on NY’s day, I noticed a bunch of phone calls from a unknown ID but I listened to see who was calling me and it was him leaving voicemails. He said he wanted to get back together. So I saw him twice in 2 weeks as he travels for business and family responsibilities. Turns out he was still with the girlfriend he cheated on me with so I broke up with him again. In March I saw I had several blocked calls and turns out he was trying to get in contact with me again! I guess he got the hint. He has stopped trying to contact me. Everything you said is exactly what he is and does!

I needed this video. Someone I knew displays these characteristics and I thought they changed, but no. So this was a reminder as to why I let them walk and kept my distance in the first place. One thing I noticed about this person is they want to know anything and everything going on with me, but once I ask a question, they disappear. These were actions they've shown in the past. They even threw someone else in my face and the new supply was in on it as well not realizing she was the new target. Love is not real with these people and when you fill them in on what's going on in your life, they'll use it against you. Good or bad. Good since they believe they'll benefit from it by riding on your wave. Bad in order to smear you and look down on you. Simply exploit you. I vowed to keep my distance from this person from now on. I have no hate towards this person and I've forgiven myself for allowing them in and back in my life. But hate requires energy and that can go towards improving my life even more.

He us Playing games I was in my car and as I was driving along I noticed the mileage started at zero instead of 76,000 klms I know I didn't do it. For a while a panic came over me as I was on the motorway and I'm thinking has he done something to my car. Years ago he disconnected the automatic transmission so I couldn't start it. He was excellent at turning on the tears to get sympathy and a hug, then he just got vicious when he saw he could no longer have me in genuine tears, he tried every trick and I wouldn’t give in, I’d cried enough over him. He would come back at me with things that did upset me prior but I just took my glasses off and looked him square in the eyes and he realised it wasn’t working any more.

For instance, my husband's ex tried to return to him 4 years later (after cheating on him), through me, so I blocked her on Facebook and had a talk with him. We'll be expecting her again, I'm sure, when she gets bored of her current toy.

I recently left my NPD girlfriend,now that I have distracted myself physically and emotionally I'm starting to understand the games she'd play ,what blows my mind is she is so competitive with me when WE should have been a team and when talking of us there was no us there was a you and I,she never described us as us or we ,she would always try to 1-up me What's also a trip is 1 month before I said no more and left she helped me get my truck even though I'm making the payment and insurance she has threatened to take my truck So now the only thing that ties me to her is my truck ,I wonder,was this planned Yes I think so. My wife is a toxic narcissist. It's taken 17 years, but she is finally showing signs of appreciation and understanding as her actions have changed for the better. Her family is grateful to me for bearing the load this long. Please do not think I am something much better. I am not. I simply know a source of unlimited love, understanding, forgiveness, and compassion. God is the answer to filling the unfathomable depths of emptiness they feel. He is the only source that can rectify their inequities and self indulgence. He also gives them purpose, direction, and meaning. She used to inflict serious wounds on me, physically and emotionally. I prayed for direction and then was guided to stop playing her games and she couldn't get me often. I began praying for and with her, trying to set an example, all the while deflecting her insults, degradation and assaults. I stood above them and did not retort. She eventually joined a group of other women which pointed out some of her shortcomings gently. She began to realize her deficits were self inflicted and started making serious changes. She's got a way to go yet. But she is mostly tolerable and I am beginning to love her again. Our relationship is progressing and I even see sacrifices on her part without expectation of benefit to herself. It's a real blessing. I am fairly patient and obedient to God, most of the time. Those may be my only saving graces. I finally have hope for the future.

I’ve found that my wife has all these traits! I’ve been on a rollercoaster of mental beat downs for years! Last 3 mo, I’ve been stone walled, manipulated, and been withheld of intimacy. Currently living in spare room. She flips out on small things, like taking left overs for lunch. I just want to get my 18yrs of life and what we built along the way. These videos and research gave realizations that it is no longer love, it’s control. I was bound by internal demons, because of her, now I’m free of them, just need to be freed from her clutches. Sad to see my kids being groomed by her.

The sad thing is that you can try all you want, a narcissist will never see anything good enough. They even have fun keep finding something to poke at you as if it were a sport to them. You would think a narc would at least do the bare minimum for you but its like they are compelled Not to give you that just to make you feel miserable. I knew one who let me know she could only be happy for five minutes. She was so miserable, controlling, bullying, and altogether pathetic. She ran everyone away before me so of course I followed suit like the other's. She was also the biggest hypocrite I'd ever met.

He would hide things, I didn't find my lint brush I kept in the same place until I got a PTO to get him out of my house for being physically, and emotional abusive. My narcissist wife of 20 yrs emptied my bank accounts and got her parents to buy her a house and filed divorce. Wanted to remain friends and co-parents which we did and she held up the divorce for a couple years and emptied my bank account again! We finally divorced she would invite me over help with the kids and tell me in detail about what qualities in her male "friends" are better. Now I get text to support her against our adult childrens life choices. When I tell her I don't think it matters and we can't raise them twice, it's because I must have mental illness. It really is like petting a cat.

I'm not sure about any other narcs but my ex tried several tactics, like calling my number at 830 in the morning, hanging up and when I reached out, he says he called by accident, I'm like how? When we broke up 12 mons ago, you blocked me..he's also waited until he knew it was my bday and used that as an excuse to spark up a conversation...Unless you block or ignore them, they will keep trying to reopen the door...and each time they will try and start the love bombing again phase...They are creatures of repetitive behavior..they act a little slow in the head if you ask me

At 6 years of nc, he was still slowly riding back and forth in front of my home. Accomplished nothing. Still nc. But I always keep my guard up.

Mine robbed me blind, ruined everything I owed, now after 5 years he stalks me, the other day he looked just like Satan did in the Passion. Pitiful sight.

I haven't experienced any smear campaign or gossip about me yet. I believe that might happen when he's out of jail. He is past apologizing since he knows I'm aware of the fact that he isn't sorry. All masks are down so I'm positive that stalking, harassment and fear will be his tools if he doesn't find a supply.

This is what I've been going through with my sons' wife and my daughter in-law. She stole my debit card I know she took it but, to strengthen myself, it was best not to fight with her but get another replacement. It does no good to start up an argument with a narsisis. Tell me, would you let a narsisis cook a dinner for you. Would you eat it or not? Sometimes when I'm there she's in the kitchen cooking then invites me to the table. I really don't trust weather to except the invitation, because I'm afraid she could set me up or anything to harm me.
