I couldn’t agree more. In high school my friends and I would play CoD4 and eventually MW2, and one my friends who played most often is female. Of course she got the shit talk sent her way as soon as she spoke up in VC, and remember this was during the xbox360 days of CoD lobbies. She’d give it as much she got it, then when we got into the match she often destroyed the people talking shit. It was pretty rare that she had a bad match since she was one of the best in our group, and was definitely better than most players back then. If I remember correctly she was ranked in the top 1.5-2k of players worldwide when it came to K/D. It was funny because probably 80% of the time those same people who would talk shit then get stomped by her would end up trying to add her along with sending her messages asking to play with her. We constantly laughed about the shit that got sent to her and then the messages those same people would send after getting beat. If she wasn’t in the mood to deal with those kinds of people then she’d either mute them or we’d just go into a party chat instead. Bully Hunters apparently was going to try and do what my friend did, by beating the people who were being mean, but as you said it doesn’t really have the same effect if you’re calling in someone else to fight your battles for you. Even though my friend got those messages almost daily, the way she shut those people up was by talking shit back to them and then beating them herself. Those were fun times though. I wish I still had all my recordings of matches from back then. Even in our bad days we still always had a blast. 💜KIK

Not stating my own beliefs; I just found your demand to be an interesting challenge to actually think about. I like to philosophize on things I guess. The only thing I can come up with is that they may want to establish some kind of separation between choosing to sexualise themselves in certain situations when they want to, while not having it intermingle with people's perceptions of them in a completely separate social context. People do normally act and think similarly all the time in various situations - such as refusing to bring their work into their home life or vice versa (which is something that is often considered good advice by many people). Another such similar social pattern is when people refuse to intermingle socialising with their family vs their socialising with their friends; something which is also fairly normal although the intent may vary a bit on that one. I guess if you take a moment to disregard what you think for a second and entertain the problem, it's easy enough to see this potential pattern in their thinking, which actually does makes fairly *logical* sense if that logic is considered in isolation. Whether or not it's *reasonable* is another matter. Reasonability has no bearing on the logic itself, and is more to do with bringing the expectations, motivations and constraints of reality into the mix. Perhaps they actually do believe this should be possible in their version of a better world, and they're speaking out about it because they want that freedom. ... Of course, they could also just be a narcissist or sociopath with no empathy or understanding for people, society or culture. I tried my best. Hope it helped.
