20-ish years ago, I test rode the first fireblade 893cc with the two round headlights. The bike was very used even back then. The clutch cassette was rattling. At that time I was riding the CBR 600 F2 .. Preferred the F2 seating position ever the fireblade. Interesting bike with strange for era 16' front wheel.

20 years ago I would have dreamed of trying on out... The 16" front wheel is rather odd and I've seen many people having a 17" conversion to help with modern tyre choice. I've stuck with the original and put S21s on as the newer ones are not in that size. many people though say the 16" has sharper handling... I of course could not compare.

Hi Kevin, For what hp they have there not bad when you wind them up past 6k ? Mine is still all the bike i need given the roads today? ATB Wayne.....👍

Hi my friend.. Great to hear from you. The 130bhp may not be massive by today's standards but you are right, when it gets up into the 5/6k threshold it just keeps pulling! It's a very fast beast indeed... The only thing, compared to modern bikes, is that it doesn't zoom away from standstill and takes a bit to get going. Takes a bit to get it to that 5k upwards rush! On BumbleBlade the only real criticism are the brakes. Jeeez they are bad! I'm sure I can improve those with braided hoses and maybe upgrade the pads and master cylinder. Take care buddy... Kev🤟

Careful getting too enthusiastic at the time of day you were riding home, dawn and dusk is when deer are most active and their populations have exploded in recent years. I hit one in my car, just before dawn, a few years ago. Bambi has NO road sense, they’ll just dash right out into the road, often in twos and threes. You have probably noticed the carcasses littering the road sides. Take particular care as the sun goes down, or as it comes up again. The Blade sounds sweet though🙄😊

@@philipbassett5129 actually happened to me once in Milan… Yes, in a City! The Deer had escaped from somewhere and I hit it with the Bike! Ended up covering the poor animal, to keep it warm as it was still alive, with a bike cover I had with me and called the Police.. They eventually sent a 24h vet (was 2am). The Deer made a full recovery which was fantastic… My bike on the other hand needed a little tlc! Scared the living daylights out of me I must say… Funniest thing was when the ‘Carabiniere’ said that in 30 years he had never seen an Englishman and a Deer in the part of Milan!! 😁

Crikey, my wife is from Milan and we’ve been there many times and I’ve never seen a deer or even heard anyone mention deer. I’ve seen a few Englishmen, however 😁

@@philipbassett5129Wow... My wife is Pugliese but we lived in Milan for 20 years! We still have our house there... I hit the Deer near the San Raffaele Hospital heading towards Vimodrone. Police thougt it might have escaped from a reserve in Monza.

What is it with every man and his dog having "Bike Nights" now? There's one just started in my (small rural) town, and I know of a few others around here. All they seem to attract is lemmings who ride down the narrow country roads and lanes at way too high a speed, overtaking on blind corners and generally being a nuisance. Co-incidentally there has also been an increase in "community speed patrols" activity on the same roads at the same time. Wonder why? I know some bikers are decent and law abiding, but it seems most of 'em are asshats who use these events as an excuse to get out there and cause mayhem.
@TheBucksBiker-lh2nm
@TheBucksBiker-lh2nm Месяц назад
@@nickmaclachlan5178 Let’s hope Bike Nights continue to grow in popularity! They are a fantastic social event. Great way to share a passion. Sure beats football and the associated trouble. No alcohol involved… No fighting at kick out time! Just pure passion! Coincidently, this particular Bike Night was organised by the (small rural) town as a charity fund raiser for the Air Ambulance. As for your incorrect observation that most ‘em are asshats’ are there to cause mayhem…I think you’ve been watching too much TV! Regarding the increase in ‘Karens’ and their cute little High Viz Vests? They’ve always been there, always will be, and good luck to em as it obviously gives them purpose in life. As for the lemmings, there will always be a few idiots but 99% are law abiding members of society. Actually, judging by how most of the locals drive (usually an SUV), in these small hubs of idyllic privilege, normally without due care and attention would lead me to observe that the ‘asshats’ are often those that live there. They may own the houses but you do not own the roads! Good day Sir…

If I could offer some advice to the lady biker it would be to slow down her hands, keep the revs steady, slip the clutch and use the rear brake. Also dangling feet give a false sense of security, better on the pegs always.

The UK is getting wetter and rainy more often now we have had the wettest spring and summer on record but it wont stop me from riding. But it will stop fair weather riders. Also How did that guy get a drz 400 in the UK? Thats really rare.

mate... I've never seen such a wet season! I have done years of commuting in all weather so don't wanna ride in the wet unless I have to! The roads are terrible, I'm still wearing my thermals, and only swapped to my summer jacket last week! It's doing my head in... Not sure how he got the drz400... Will find out :)
