I just want to say, even though it’s been nearly 2 years since I made this comment, digital art still confuses me. Just thought you’d all like a little update.

So reference to the first one, it’s because it’s glossy. You would of had more luck free hand painting her. If you used acrylic without water, it would have been fine, but you have to let it dry... a lot on many steps.

I agree, I really like how laid back/relaxed and goofy tictoc artists get to be. RU-vid artists can definitely be the same, but I feel like they put more pressure on themselves and it has to be “video worthy” instead of just creating for fun.

After watching the video I can say that it’s pretty cool how much trouble she had with the challenges but still managed to come out with art, that while she might not be super amazed with, still accepted and showed the troubling process of making it. I actually really appreciate and admire when artists, especially big name artists online like yourself, aren’t afraid to show the struggles and the “bad” art they make. When you see people’s art online it’s easy for anyone to get discouraged and feel like those artists make it look easy so it must be easy, or that they always create amazing stuff all the time.

I have a video idea. You could draw some monsters, but I dunno, modernize them? Change them? Here's what I mean: A snuggubus. Maybe you've heard of a succubus? Well, a suggubus is like that, only it feeds on attraction. Like hugs or cuddles. A mermaid/merman, but it flies! Like an aeromaid/areoman. That's all I got, sorry. :)

When you said that you were just going to use a neopets card I legit screamed “NO DONT USE THE NEOPETS CARD!” But it turned out nicely. I’m just a big fan of that game

I also did the color swatch thing b/c I had a lot lying around, and for some reason, I decided to draw only based on the name. They turned out very...weird (the color names I got were bad for this challenge)

Everytime i reach the end of the video and you start reading out your patron's names, I keep getting the feeling that they give themselves weird n funny names on purpose because it just sounds super funny n cute when you read them aloud 💜

i think the problem with ur neopet paint over is a combo of the paint and the finish of the card. Pokemon cards are way more matte than neopets cards (adding a bit of gesso to the paint could help with this) otherwise i think u did a great job, u don't give urself enough credit.

Haley, did you ever make OCs with your Neopets as a kid?? i'd LOVE watching a redraw episode if so, i still play Neopets and got unreasonably happy when i saw you pull out the TCG 😭💗

When painting on stuff like cards and paint swatches, you could try spraying them with Mister super clear spray-on sealent to give them some tooth! Be careful though because the stuff is toxic

What I dont like about tiktok art is that its all the same stuff. Same clouds same stars same keyboard idea and back pocket painting. That's not to say it isn't good its just dull.

You didn't prime the card, that's likely the only reason the paint wasn't working out on the card. From what I can tell, neopets cards are DIFFERENT from pokemon cards with texture, which is why people stick with pokemon cards for painting.
