Thats the vibe I get from cult members, many are naive to the point where they believe that their leaders could never hurt them or take advantage of them. The world they see may be beautiful but is often idealistic and not representative of reality. These charismatic cult leaders take advantage of this and sell them the dreams of a perfect world under his rule
@@kevinzhu6417 The cult leaders are the opposite of naive they're cunning and devious narcissists and sociopaths looking to take advantage of vulnerable people so they can have power and control over them to prop up their fragile egos. Although if he could get out of this cult the silver lining might be he didn't play in the NFL and get more brain damage.
I work with a guy who actually thinks he's God. He believes that this "matrix" we live in was written by him thousands of years ago. He makes Doomsday predictions every few months and will corner you for hours and not shut up. These guys are so delusional but so firm in their belief that I could see someone also believing them. Fucking sad though
There's no better way to grow in power than to convince people its in their best interest to give it to you. And nothing in the history of the world has done a better job of convincing them than religion, no matter what form it takes.
He thinks he is in a noble pursuit just like scientologist. They also are being hoodwinked by a socio path to work for free or give donations. First it was L. Ron Hubbard and now David Miscavige is the narc in charge now living like a king and being the tiny tyrant to the hoodwinked followers.
@@brianwalsh1401 thing is, if it was about money... they would've told him to play and milk him out of that NFL bag. And promote his Jesuslike wannabe. Instead they took him right before the draft... I genuinely believe he's actually convinced he is Jesus, noone is this stupid and would waste such an opportunity...
Lord RayEl's accent sounds like a mix of an Americans impression of a British person, a British persons impression of an american, and a really bad impression of King Julien.
Lol it reminded me of the hilarious accent Dennis puts up in one of those It's always sunny episodes. Something like 'Hawlt Chawleeh! This gaem has gun un lowng enouuf' 🤣🤣🤣
Sort of unrelated to the video but As someone who just graduated high school and isn’t exactly doing great, hearing from the psychologist that it’s normal to he under that type of stress is sorta comforting (even though what happens to Adam is very not comforting) anyway, another great and insightful video man
Keep your head up man! Every day above ground is an opportunity to change your situation. All you gotta do is tap in. Sending love and prayers to you man, enjoy your day!
Very common because we may not know what direction were going in. I was like that. It took me some time to figure things out and keep going forward one day at a time.
I mean, this isn't an unpopular opinion. Age of consent is usually below the age of maturity in many jurisdictions. For example Germany: the age of consent is 14, the age of maturity is 18.
Really hope dude is alright. He probably wanted to seriously follow God but didn't know how, and someone took advantage of him. That's genuinely awful, and I hope he and his family can find peace. Also i hope that false prophet understands that taking God's name in vain like that has some serious consequences.
I went to HS with dude. He was normal in HS. I heard that there was a fight and he had blunt trauma to the head and everything went downhill from there.
When it all comes down to it people are desperate for answers to life's toughest questions and will look over the most glaring discrepancies just to have the peace of "knowing"
The Jesus guy has him trapped well because for Muema to leave the cult, he’d have to admit to himself that he threw his future away and that’s hard to do.
yeah his behavior had me wondering if he'd had a brain injury. Seeing the numbers and god speaking, major change in desire and behavior is a sign of some brain malfunction. Dont get me wrong I think there's some proper healthy brain function related to religious experience, but a change like this indicates illness, either a psychotic break like schizophrenia or brain injury. The head injury and subsequent regular concussions (football, dont kid yourselves, they're mildly concussed just about every game) is a glaring reason in hindsight.
Final note, worst cult leader ever. You told this kid to walk away from millions instead of stealing said millions from kid. Way to drop the ball there.
You got it wrong. It dont be about the $. It be the perversion...they want to have sex with these lost brains. They dont gaf about no money, they want ur soul. If they have that they have you, and all the nasty sexual desires they want. What molester u ever saw care about $? Lol. Seems like u lost yo head like they did...joking.
He was acting like he was first-round talent. Instead of increasing your chances of getting drafted by working out and the combine and pro-day, you do absolutely nothing and expect to get drafted? Something is seriously wrong with this young man.
All religious ppl do this. They think u can just pray and miracles will take care of your life and pay your bills, etc..."Let go and let God" They crazy but that's what they say. I swear.
@@SetTheEdge Almighty STE give me the knoweldge I seek, and for four easy payments of $200 protect me from the unholy smiting that has been prophesized by the handsome, well-spoken, not face punch worthy, Gandalf! Hail be onto you! Deliver us from evil, and shitty draft choices AMEN~!
STE, this stuff is crazy. Thank you for telling this story. I mean to a normal functioning human this all seems hysterical and like a completely outlandish fever dream and I laughed about how hilariously bad and stupid the shtick of this cult leader guy is, but after everything you brought up, I basically have to assume that something was really not right with Adam. I've seen it mentioned here and from hearing the example of how progressed Hernandez' CTE was despite his young age at the time of his death, I'm afraid Adam may indeed have CTE, which would explain the crazyness. Let's hope he dies not, for his sake. That disease is scary as all hell and I don't wish it on anybody.
This is what it looks like when the ego joins you on your spiritual journey. The unhealed mind turns to magical thinking. Other unhealed minds, desperate for a guide, fall for a "leader" who can only manifest the illusions of a leader.
Granted, he was probably going to be a 3-5 RB, but I just remembered how bizarre the situation was, and how everyone that knew this guy was like "RIP this guy's NFL career. "
It's so wild to me that, as long as you don't hurt or kidnap anybody, or steal anything, you can just lead a cult and prey on any person mentally I'll enough to believe you.
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1 (edit, oh my god I didn’t know people hated religion that much, it’s actually quite entertaining watching people go back in forth about this. Imma sit off to the side sipping some tea.)
Yeah, quote that cult book like you're making a point! Little do you realize that you're just exposing yourself and making more young people aware of what cult talk sounds like! You're doing a great service to ward people off of religious cult nonsense! Please keep up what you are doing. Future generations will thank you.
Adam being away from football is actually a good thing. If his mind is this far gone, no need to literally break him by throwing on the pads. He needs to break away and travel the world
He had a psychotic break. A friend of mine had one. You are basically a sponge and believe whatever you think and can get really paranoid, anxious lost etc.
A isn't it ridiculous that you gotta post a disclaimer not to fuck with people. We think were better than the next man when his shit is on blast at the moment but fail to look at ourselves even one a week. Great video as always. Your channel makes football that much better. Seriously
It's kind of sad to see a fine young gentleman being taken advantage of in this matter. As for that Re-L scammer, he looks like frustrated "child loving" predator who's compound needed some Police Task Force raiding after that appalling vlog "about minor consent."
Really sad to see this come up. I remember hearing about him during the draft process and I actually even followed him on Twitter for a bit just because I was curious. I unfollowed at one point and kinda forgot. I’m sad to see this is where it ended up for him :\
I actually got sucked into this group back in 2014. I bought it hook, line and sinker...for a time anyway. But then about 6 months in I started asking too many questions and wound up mass blocked by every single member and group page on FB. Apparently never outgrowing the "why phase" is all that stands between me and religious indoctrination. I can see now how wild and out right ridiculous this all is, but through lived experience I can also understand how/why seemingly smart/strong folk get sucked in. They get ya when ya are weak, at a low point full of instability and isolation. This is why college campuses or other transitional places are fertile cult recruiting grounds. I imagine the move from college to NFL ball is just as, possibly even more, disorienting and confusing as the move from home to post secondary.
Glad you were able to make it out, definitely agree that it's not a matter of intelligence but rather instability and vulnerability that these groups seek out and profit from.
