Him and LeBron 1A & 1B and it’s extremely close! I’ve seen them both play 30+ times each center court row 10 Pacers season tickets since 1987 (In other words every game MJ and LeBron played in Indy 1987-2021 in regular season and playoffs and a few in Chicago/Cleveland as well) and anyone saying they aren’t close (on either side of the argument) is not objective at all! Huge fan of both even though they owned my beloved Pacers (though we did give them 3 of their closest series wins that were almost Ls ever in 98 ECF, 2013 ECF, and 2018 first round as all went 7 games and we could of won them all with a more fair whistle or couple luckier bounces 🤬).
MJ definitely showed his greatness even at that age. Did not give up on defense even once. He played every play with heart n determination. He did not flop or relax on defense or walk up the court at times. He even scored 96 points in back to back games that year. 51 vs Charlotte n 45 next game vs New Jersey.
@@wobbafett2464 i know he scored 55 vs the Knicks in his third game back wearing number 45 but with the wizards he put up 55 points on Charlotte i mite be getting the team wrong but don't think i am just type in mj oldest man to ever score 55 point at the age 9 of 40 do your homework
Just look at him play.. His skill, confidence and will cannot be matched by any player I've ever seen then or now. The man's clearly in a league of his own. The G.O.A.T no doubt!
@@rudamchu I’ve seen them BOTH play live 30+ times center court row10 (dad has had Pacers season tickets since 1987) and I love them BOTH (even though they’ve cost my 98/13/14 Pacers Finals appearances and LeBron has beaten us also in an ECSF and 2 first round series) and they’re both equally great. It’s comments like yours that are utterly false (LeBron fans do it towards MJ as well) and delusional Skip Bayless esque lies. LeBron has the highest ppg in game 7 ever at 35 ppg (6-0 in them also not losing one since 2008 including 2-0 in FINALS game 7s averaging 32 12 8 2spg 2bpg, shooting 40% from 3 and 89% FTs!) highest ppg ever (and most wins with highest win%) in elimination games, most 30+ point playoff games, more playoff buzzer beaters (5 #1 all time) then all other Top10 GOAT combined unless you have Jerry West Top10 as he has more then MJ Kobe Bird Magic Durant Curry Kareem Duncan Dirk Wilt Russell Shaq COMBINED! LeBron passed MJ for #1 in total playoff points in his 12th playoff (MJ played 13). He’s number in playoff points, wins, series wins, VORP, offensive win shares, Win shares (by a ton), buzzer beaters, 30+ point games, steals, FTs and #2 in assists, 40+ point games, defensive win shares, PER, BPM, 3s, & finals appearances. LeBron AVERAGED 34, 9, 9 with amazing %s and 2 playoff buzzer beaters in 2018 playoffs alone! In his last EIGHT finals he’s averaging 30, 10, 8, 2spg, 1bpg on 50% shooting and 37% threes. His last 5 even better as 32 ppg & more rbg. Ppl gotta stop shitting on LeBron/MJ to try and big the other one up. It makes you look dumb like you don’t understand the game

There’s a lot of games like this MJ kicking young asses in the nba, IVERSON, STEVE NASH, T MAC, KOBE, CARTER, RAY ALLEN, KEVIN GARNET, TIM DUNCAN, PAUL PIERCE, AND MANY MANY MORE PLAYERS
@@fckupsidedown Yes Timmy, we’re on Cosgrove right here, he has a video similar to this one showing MJ owning Tim Duncan, go watch it. You’ll enjoy it.
@@swft1327 he didn't kick kobe ass the bulls win kobe did his thing wtf is you talking about jordan didn't stop him shit pippen couldn't even stop kobe and he was a way better defender than jordan 97 he hardly played
That 2nd Wizards season with MJ, they just missed the playoffs & I was so disappointed cuz I knew if they made it, MJ would've done all he could to upset whoever the top seed was. I just wanted to see him make playoffs at least once with WAS just to see what he would've mustered up. Ended up being his final season.
People gotta understand. When Jordan decided to retire being a small minority owner to play again for the wizards. Different teams were beating the wizards but individually they weren't beating Jordan.
I think this shows how much basketball IQ Jordan had and that he could shut down any player. Even if he wasn’t the fastest, strongest or best shooter he would get around it and get the job done playing mind games at the same time. This video highlights his feel to basketball the way he was so close to travelling and didn’t or the way he tore down his opponents mentally so they don’t have any advantages on him. Love the vids keep it up Cosgrove!
There was no ball player like Mile.Mike brought it every game. Also, nobody re- invented themselves like Mike. That's why he's the goat...Goat's let other people talk about their accomplishments...
Can’t get nothing past from the GOAT. Til next time, we’ll see how it goes. I see why he was so great, it just kicks in and he takes to another level of play. The art of getting schooled. The Master at work, teaching the new breed how to put it into action. That fadeaway of his is a work of art, MJ and Mamba forever! Great analysis video! Love that music! Cringes!
Here's a thought🤔...his fade away became dangerous like Kareem's sky hook or like Dennis Rodman focusing on rebounding the Shamgod or the Hardaway/AI crossover for some. Once a player finds their signature move and really hone that skill, they're hard/difficult to guard. Like someone that gets frustrated bcuz they can't block your MK move with your favorite character and they just quit 😂...🤨opinions?
I'm amazed at anyone that chose to study him or size him up based on specifics that they had or were. You can't study a person that excels at what *they excel at. As all of the above comes natural to them. Behaviors, maybe antics and tactics that aren't in a book or can be randomly learned over time. Understanding *ones instincts and ***energy will have you avoid whatever outcome that will likely make you a sour "believer" real quick.
people dont understand how crazy jordans skills were. he just made it happen. and im not even a jordan fanboy. i think he was an a hole. but you cant deny his skill.
Yeah you can’t even disrespect skills of Larry KD Lebron MJ Magic or Kareem and Wilt they freak at offence while bill wilt can never be forgotten for their resoective accolades

MJ is the GOAT. People cite his run with the Wizards as “terrible”, but when you look at the stats you see an aging MJ was putting up all star stats avg 20+ , so matching the best younger players at nearly twice their age, you see just how far above all these guys his skill level really is
I think his Wizards years were very underrated, wasn't air jordan anymore but was still schooling cats with a team worse than the terrible Bulls that drafted him.
@@jessefontenot9846 I'm a Bullets/Wizards fan born and raised in D.C. There were plenty of those people who trashed MJ's Wizard years because he wasn't Air Jordan AND they didn't actually watch what MJ did with those Wizards. MJ played one full season without sayin any of that load management crap AND he almost carried the team to the playoffs single handed at an old age. That gotta hold some weight.
@@jessefontenot9846 I’ve literally heard dozens of people say these things, going back to when it was happening to present day, so I’m not sure where you’ve been.
age catches up.. it just does but mj.. i look at mjs last two yrs at 40 after three full yrs away like i do larry birds last 3 yrs after his back surgery... everyone saying how they are not the same yet their stats old or injured would be good enough for anyone to make the hall if they had those averages over their careers. basically bird hurt for 3 yrs or michael old for 2 statistically was as good as or in birds case better than Scottie pippens best 2 yrs without jordan when he was still in his 20s... both of their worst yrs be it age or injury actually just showed us why they were so great
This is an example of why so many guys in the crossover generation who faced both Jordan and Lebron almost universally say Jordan was the far superior player. Anyone who watched those years knew that Jordan's explosiveness was gone but when you have the greatest mid range skill set in the history of the game those are just unnecessary details.
Pierce had a taste of how it is going to be guarded in the 90's 😂😂 Old J shut him down. Different rules still got served. Pierce learned and became better.
It's still amazing how an aged MJ with knee and back problems still could play the game at this level. It was a physical game back then and many young players were not only faster but more athletic as well. He mostly rely on his experience and will to compete.
MJ was still in pretty great shape. Knee wear and tear and then broken ribs Artest gave him in the off season are ultimately what did him in. What he lacked in athleticism he made up with 10 more lbs of beef
To think that the literally 98 version of Jordan which was the worst version of himself in the 2nd 3Peat would have averaged +30ppg in that era is crazy
It was maybe more brutal, but not more physical and players were definitely not more athletic. Back then the pace was the slowest ever, and players weren’t doing crazy moves at full speed, wich create a lot of pressure on your knee, ankle and joints … That’s why so many players are injured todays, and most of the time they injured themselves… Back then it was more BRUTAL, because players were playing a lot with their elbows and a cut to the eyebrow is waaay more impressive than an ACL TEAR, because you will see a lot of blood just like Lebron on Stewart 3 days ago, but the ACL TEAR is waaaay more lethal, Stewart will get 6 stinches and he was probably able to train the days after … So the game wasn’t more physical that’s a lie, the numbers of injuries just show you that, and don’t tell me players back then were tougher, they were humans just like todays. And players were more athletic ? That’s a joke ? Lebron, Giannis, Westbrook, Zion, Ben Simmons, Zach Lavine, Kawhi, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, DJ, Kevin Garnett, Kevin Durant, Ja Morant, Donovan Mitchell, Ibaka, Embiid, AD, Gobert, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Miles Bridges, Scottie Barnes, John Wall … Players are way more athletic on average todays, LBJ, Greek freak, Westbrook, Zion, Ben Simmons, Dwight, Blake, Zach, Kawhi and even Ibaka all have an argument for Top 10 most athletic player ever, just in this era there are more freaks than in the whole NBA history, Wilt, Shaq, MJ, Vince Carter, Charles Barkley, Wilkins, Karl Malone, Roadman… These are the only retired players on par with the players i mentionned in term of athleticism, i probably forgot some players but still, players are way more athletic todays thats a fact.
@@Anthonydu01630 I said when MJ played in 2001 to 2003, there were already a lot of players in the league who was more athletic and faster than him. Wasn't referring to todays players at all. Todays players play often run and gun and tend to shoot more from outside and since the late 70s, the average NBA player got more and more athletic. The game is fast paced because that's how the NBA commissioner wants it to be. Talentwise, i dont think there is a big difference between the past decades. What is good about todays game is that we see more baskets going through the rim. However, that is only possible when the teams play less defense and invest their stamina for the fast paced offense. Speaking of balance between good offense and defense, i would say the era from the late 80s to mid 90s and late millennium until around 2012 were most representing. Since 2016 after the warriors played well with their small ball and shooting lots of 3s, too many other teams try the same but being less efficient. Back in the late 90s and early millennium, the game was more focused on defense and rebounds that the scoring came short. The increased defense resulted in lower fg% and scoring went down.
@@samuelcrisostomo1534 superior uhhhhh no playing at 45 and being better than half the league today???? Yea that's an overreaction something a stan would say you saying that based on this one video is silly
MJ's movements are precise and surgical. Every step, every spin, every jump, etc, is thought out carefully and executed to perfection. He's not the GOAT because of talent, but because he works out every detail of everything in the game.
Pierce wasn't the most athletic in his position but he's very strong and always use his heft to make separation and take his shot. Too bad that advantage doesn't work with MJ as he's strong as well.
They don't call MJ is Greatest player of all time for nothing ..30.1ppg 6 rebs 5apg 2 steals and a block..10 scoring titles and 9 time first team all defensive team and 1988 DPOTY..and scoring champ..only player to do this..and remember 6 >4( 3 1/2 ) bubble chip was BS ..but Jordan highest scoring avg ever..regular Season and Playoffs and Finals MVP six times of the Finals a NCAA championship( hit the winning shot) 2 Olympic Gold Metal 1984, 1992..PER highest all time 27.9 regular season and 28.6 in the playoffs also highest ever..Jordan is one of a kind and a incredible 25 game winners in his career on 50% shooting..33.4 ppg playoffs and 33.5 in the Finals highest all time for a player who played in more than two Finals..LeBron will never be MJ peroid...MJ has a higher winning pct than LeBron regular season and playoffs..sorry facts are facts ..MJ is the GOAT 🐐....1982 NCAA championship game winner Tarheels win title..College Player of the Year 1984..1985 Rookie of the Year NBA ( 28.2 ppg) in 1986 scored still the NBA record v Boston 63 pts.( the first of his 5 60+ point games) same as Kobe( RIP) 39 50+ point games including 8 out of the 39 in the playoffs Highest ALL TIME..Wilt iscsecond with holding as many 4...LBJ 22-33 record in the Finals( 4-6 if u count the bubble) MJ 24-11 record in the Finals 6-0 with six MVPS of the Finals. .LeBron 4..Jordan beats him all across the advanced stats add winning peroid..Jordan to this day is the GOAT and most iconic peroid..good luck LBJ 26.9 ppg now man you getting old..looking forward to seeing The Warriors kicks your a$$..lmao 🌞!! retired for almost four years, returned to the age of 40 with no practice , but he still played like great, even though we know he's old, but even though his game isn't as good as before, he's still good, a real goat
3 years break from 98 to 2001 and started again at 38 and didn't start again at 40. He has played with washington for two seasons. His birthday is in February, so he always ages within an NBA season.
@John Espo yea very underrated he was giving people the business at 39 40 Scottie Pippen couldn't even dream doing that so imagine if Michael Jordan was on that Rockets and Blazers teams do they win
We will never experience the fire, excitement, work ethic, consistency, defense and offense all at the same time... if he wanted to score he will score. He is the Goat.
MJ = if "aight bet" were an actual person...... Had Mike played the entire season that year and hadn't torn his meniscus after 47 games - we would have witnessed the greatest "old man" season in NBA history. He still ended up averaging 25 ppg but he was getting better as the season went on. In the 20 games before the injury he was averaging 27ppg. In the TEN games before the injury, he was back to his old GOAT self, averaging 30ppg on 47% shooting and there was still almost half a season left. So imagine if he'd played the remainder of it. The NBA may have had the oldest scoring champion of all time. Or at least a serious comp between him, Shaq and A.I.. And Mike would have taken a 19 win team the previous season, all the way to the playoffs the following season. Let's not act like the Wizards weren't basically the same exact team, they just added the GOAT. Which goes to show some of you modern fans how great MJ truly was. Had he gone to an actual contender......the Lakers might not have won it all that year. Mike would give it to ANY Hall of Famer if you put him in ANY era of the NBA, he would have been the best player in the league. And not Russell, Wilt, Havlicek, Oscar R, or Kareem would have been able to handle MJ. Add MJ to the 60s Lakers and the Celtics don't win 11 straight. Russell talks like he DIDN'T play on a "super team". Well imagine MJ and a more winning oriented Wilt on the same Lakers team AND...in the same backcourt with the Logo, Jerry West.
@@jordanflores5687 LeBron played a whole playoffs with a bum ankle, a concussion and and injured wrist in the playoffs. Try me again with that play thru injury shit fam.
I remember at the time about halfway through his Wizards stint thinking he was still a top 20 player but by the time he retired forever!..I remember thinking he was!..Or was again becoming the best in the world again! That's amazing n young NBA fans should know that opinion!
Saying these guys were stil young like it's a huge disadvantage is hilarious, we're talking about young, injury free professional NBA players who are far from kids and MJ was still schooling then to some degree at damn near 40 years old. Crazy
His drive separates him from everyone else. Past his prime toying with roukies proves his greatness. It was amazing to watch on tv not realizing what we were actually witnessing.
Hey cosgrove I know this isn’t a big coincidence but did you know that mj first game was against the wizards and that last team he ever played for was none other then the wizards what do you think
I think both are true. Jordan is the G.O.A.T and that combined with his extreme advantage over Paul in the knowledge of the game gave "The Truth" fits.
This just proved that Paul was the Truth even though Shaq gave him the nickname. Jordan noticed him and wanted to play against him. Paul was definitely honored that the GOAT himself took notice.
can I suggest to make a video about how a 6th seeded Rockets team became the champion in 1995? like how did Magic collapse and lose 4 straight games. p.s. just a suggestion

My man, I respect Jordan as the Greatest Of All time and no debate needed for that. I just suggested this content because of how amazing the Rockets are in this season. Thank you for the video suggestion and have a good day to you
Weren’t a true 6 seed. They were 94 champs. Had a good record, until a mid season trade to add hall of famer Drexler, which gave them some Chemistry issues initially, to ruin their Reg season record. Magic were a young ass team, & Nick Anderson choked 4 free throws in a row.
Pierce lowkey dominated this game so many open looks for the rest of the celtics cuz he was in jordans head crazy i just rmember big baby with the no look reverse windmill poster on jordan this game and pierce with 16 assists them boys snapped
MJ was still giving the entire Boston Team them buckets & he was older. Geeeeeeessssshhhhhh and the league was still a whole lot tougher back then. 2 : 3 zones or 3 : 2 zones were not allowed back then. Clearly MJ is the Goat hands down & I am a die hard Laker fan 💛💜 ( Respect The Game ) ✌🏾
Michael Jordan,Michael Schumacher,Dieago Maradona,Carl lewis and all those stalwarts who i idolized in my teenage years never really took of when they returned to the game after retirment... Even though hunger remains for the sport factors like Age,team environments and body take a toll one way or the other...but they remain legends all life❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey cosgrove not too long ago you made a video saying that kyrie is gonna retire after 2020 season and he's not gonna play 2021-2022 season you kinda predicted it
IM 43 NOW AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING . I FREAKING HATED MIKE BACK IN THE DAY ONLY TO TELL ALL YOU MIKE HATERS THAT HE IS TRULY THE GOAT . I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE COME CLOSE TO HIS SKILLS EXCEPT MAYBE KOBE BRYANT . OTHER THAN KOBE ;' NO ONE .
MJ was "seasoned," when he came into the league.. two-time college player of the year as well as the game-winning shot in the national championship game. We don't get that excuse for Paul Pierce. He's good in his own right but no MJ
