This guy just comes off as much more genuine than a lot of the other training site owners. I may look into this. I’ve always used CLP but doesn’t help much for the series as it’s mostly cash strategy. Are there more videos similar to this if you sign up?

Thanks, I do my best! At the site, the videos will be slightly more in-depth, but our members get at least 4 Live Webinars a month where myself or other coaches will go through a topic and you can ask questions live. There are also hundreds of quizzes where you'll play a spot and we'll guide you through the decision to learn how to play nearly all situations. There is a free 7-day trial, so you can try it out and see if you like it!

I hear a ton of people, as of recently talking about ranges and what not at the table. Even heard a recreational person talk about Johnathan Little... The games are getting super GTO, this is why I employ a strong exploitative strategy. Understand what’s trending, get into the minds of these players and adapt.

Another good thing to do on ANY stack size, is to see what the SPR (Stack to pot ratio) is when called. If you 4.5x 3 bet and he calls, the pot will be 9 opens, and a blind. Look at what the stacks will be there, and plan accordingly. If the stacks are 10x the pot vs 5x the pot, the decision to raise at all should be greatly impacted.

Thank you very much for the content, I can't explain how helpful your videos have been. I recently was playing a 1-2 no limit live and using the 3 bet range against two maniacs at my table they called my all in with super weak hands and I raked in the money.

I typically like 3betting 3x the original raise + 1x for every caller ($20 open = $60 3bet +$20 a caller) When out of position though I'll make it 5x + 1x a caller

The more I watch of these, the more I realise that getting useful info about likely opponent ranges is the really valuable info. I am trying to get this by paying more attention.
@madmartigan21
@madmartigan21 5 лет назад
An opening raise to 3x the big blind very rarely occurs in live low stakes no limit hold'em. Since opening raise sized often start larger we will very often have awkward SPR's as a result of 3-betting. Something to keep in mind.
@PokerCoaching
@PokerCoaching 5 лет назад
It depends on the game. If your opponents use atrocious raise sizes, you have found an amazing game because you can simply sit there and play stronger ranges than them. Congrats!

I was on the 50nl table online. Ran into a guy id never seen. He 3bet ALOT. nearly every hand he wanted to play, he 3bet reguardless of position it seemed. He 3bet soo much, i knew that MOST, not just some. But most of these 3bets have to be light. So, i started 4betting him large wider. And 4bet jamming hands like AK, AQs. 8's+. He always folded to the 4bet.
@lfgamble3924
@lfgamble3924 5 лет назад
Allowed for solid value from hands that i otherwise wouldnt have got. So, imagine. I call with pocket 9's rite. And this guy was lag. He would 3barrel USUALLY. im just gonna get blown off of 9's almost everytime.

By test, incredibly, I have found that betting a little too large oop is better than betting a little too small in position, although both tend to work out great for me

Really good info, but I think things change a lot in small stakes live games where the typical PFR is 4 to 5x and sometimes more. I play in a small local casino where the blinds are 1-3 and buy in is 60-300. It's an odd game as they play with 2.00 chips. Maybe in a future video you can discuss how things change with 100 bb stacks and the avg raise pre is 5x. Thanks for your great work.

Sizing question...$1-$2 game...there's a limp from EP, a raise to $12 from a player in MP with a wide opening range, a call, and it's folded to us. Using the 3x or 4x 3-bet sizing depending on position as mentioned in this video, how much additional would we add to our 3-bet sizing to offset the dead money generated by the limper and the caller? The value of what they contributed to the pot? In other words $36(3x open from cutoff)+$2 (1 limper)+$12(1 caller) = total raise to $50? I've heard from some sources that half of what the passive players put into the pot is acceptable (3-betting to $43...36+6+1), but not really sure what is correct or why. Is it dependent of the size of the effective stacks and which will do a good enough job denying correct implied odds? Since premium hands are always, well, at a premium, in most cases I'm 3-betting light against an opponent who has a wide open range while leveraging my tight image so my goal is to risk the minimum that will get the job done.

I am wondering about the SB chart. The GTO Chart suggest to only 3-bet or fold. But your chart suggest calling a lot, which is also what I usually see. When is it ok to call and when should you stick to 3-bet or fold

I am honestly surprised suited connectors (T9, 98) are call hands instead of 3-bet as a bluff hands
@xyzzy4567
@xyzzy4567 4 года назад
I would guess those hands have better implied odds so you don’t necessarily want to push your opponent out of the hand.
@LittleJ1337
@LittleJ1337 4 года назад
@@xyzzy4567 they are calls instead of 3 bet bluffs, becauss they fall in the middle of your range. You generally want to be bluff 3 betting the hands that are not good enough to call. If you start bluff 3 betting suited connectors, then you simply have way too many bluffs in comparison to your value hands
@Malcolm.Y
@Malcolm.Y 5 лет назад
A little confusing. At 4:50, against NIT, list says 1) don't bluff and 2) don't feel inclined to bluff with all hands on the chart. Huh?

Great video. Question for you. If I'm card dead, sometimes, I've been putting some hands like K7s into my three-bets range from out of position against a player I think is opening way too many hands preflop from mid position to isolate because a lot of these LAGs play pretty tight against that type of line postflop. I've seen this pattern with a lot of preflop LAGs who tend to call three-bets preflop with hands like 86s. Is my play too loose? Am I putting too many chips at risk with these plays?
@PokerCoaching

It is probably fine as long as your opponents will fold too often to you, which may or may not be the case.

Jonathan...I am a rec player for about 15 years give or take. I play once a month or so (1/2, 2/5) and on average book winning sessions. I find this whole GTO stuff difficult to apply since I don't have the volume of play. I concentrate on solid ABC fundamentals with some bluffs thrown in in the right spots. All of the videos I watch (which is a lot!) Assumes our opponents also think about ranges...for most local poker rooms filled with "fish" or older recs that have never heard of range let alone watched a vlog or other video....how can I possibly incorporate "mondern" theories when I have a limited bankroll I play within and really am not concerned with the +EV play if it were played out 1000 times since I won't play 1000 hands in any short period? Thanks from a retired submarine sailor in upstate NY

problem with playing this type of game, is that players can trap you very easily. And when you get trapped you lose BIG POTS !!!! I crush playing poker because pros think they can make moves on everyone. Once you have played for twenty plus years like myself you just know if your good on the flop or not. I watch pros stack off their entire stacks playing like this. If you want to go deep play good solid poker and make moves in big pots. Your opponents who are good will notice that you are tight and play SOLID poker. When you do make a move on them you can get pros to fold two pairs and maybe even trips if there is an obvious straight or flush out there. The tighter you play makes it much easier to steal a big pot when needed. The best players re like Daniel negreanue small ball poker that plays solid. How often do you see Daniel 3 bet with rags, hardly ever.

My game of $100 or $200 buy in at Commerce or 41-300 at HP sees raises over 3X the blinds 75% of the time. If this strategy is based on a 3x, it's useless to me. If it can be extended or modified, then it has value. Let me know.

What percentage of 3bet calls out of villain make them a calling station? If they're calling 25% of the time is that enough for them to be a calling station?
@ronbondie9502
@ronbondie9502 5 лет назад
I think by calling station that refers to them by calling down all the way to showdown, you bet they call each round not so much as the % of time they are calling pre. if they are calling to many preflop bets they are just referred to as fish or they own the deck I hope that answers your question. now crush them lol

Aren't you ignoring the BB player in this video? If the BB is passive, then fine but if he has any decent squeezing range, lots of the flats you suggested are going to be in trouble. I don't think you can focus solely on the IR and not take into account the player left to act. Maybe I'm just overly cautious when not closing the action?
