The cops was saying that because they hadn read him his rights yet, if he said something useful it couldn’t be used in court because he technically didn’t know his rights
The higher profile the crime, the more polite and helpful cops will be to you (when in custody), simply because if they don't a case can be thrown out for bias/maltreatment. It looks like this was a situation, or because he wasn't mirandarized That... or they just really wanted him to shut up
He's not trying to help. He doesn't want him to talk until his rights were read. Or it wouldn't able to be used in court. Funny you think a cop cares about a criminal LOL
@@adoe2305 Cops don't have to read you your rights until right before they start to interrogate you. Any information you volunteer without being interrogated is 100% legal to use in court. You watch too many cop reality tv shows if you think that's how it works.
Major respect to Ryan for keeping calm and acting respectfully. THUS is how you act when there's a misunderstanding, it's happened to me multiples times and I've have the same outcome
Sure, but walking into a bank dressed like a bum, wearing a mask, and handing the teller a handwritten note asking for a large amount of cash is about as dumb as it gets. And for an assistant? How much cash is he REALLY paying an "assistant" every week where it would be crazy. 4 grand a week is over 200k, and 4k in cash, from a bank, is not that much money. The assistant is probably making half that at best. I promise you, nobody is getting crazy when a BANK hands out 2k in cash. That's like 500 transactions a day like that, that's nothing. He could also obviously pay her with a check or something, but she apparently wants to cheat on her taxes. If you ACTUALLY need privacy for your piddly 2k in cash, which you don't, then just go to an office. If it was from an ATM in a sketchy location, sure, but not INSIDE a bank. If you're THAT worried then you need to A) change banks and B) move to a safer city, and C) pay her with a check/wire transfer/money order/etc. REALLY dumb shit on his part, but sure, at least he didn't scream emotionally over and over and over again in cuffs like half these fools do.
Huh?? 🤔 Say What?? I think he is STILL one REAL S T U P I D person, because IF he knew he was I N N O C E N T, then WHY the f*** did he and his friend take off like that!? ok so, NOW the "Celebrity" can pay off ALL of the cars that he and his friend wrecked, lmao! 🤣 😝
Ryan Coogler gave a good demonstration on how to respond to being falsely accused. No drama or yelling, just respectfully expressing his disappointment.
Umm as far a Ryan case, He handed the teller the note which included his ID and his bank card. For her and the manager to assume it was a robbery is wild. I don't know of a bank robber to willingly hand over their personal information before they commit the crime
I read about a moron who wrote "Give me all your money- I have a gun" on the reverse of one of his personal checks! Police called by at his home to arrest him about 20 minutes later!!
Man that first cop is respectable. Doing that kid all the favors getting him to shut up, when the other female officer was asking if he wrecked the car instantly going for the interrogation And admission.
Well, that's their job. That's what they are supposed to do. Am I supposed to thank cops who try to help the criminals they arrest to avoid facing consequences? Bad enough having prosecutors who won't charge, and judges who won't sentence, next we will have cops making sure the guys they are cuffing have the maximum opportunity to walk away with no consequences at all. It's your responsibility to know your rights, not the cops job to tell you. And in that case he didn't just warn him, he literally stopped him from saying the incriminating thing he was about to say.
I am surprised as well. A lot of it is how good the sound insulation of vehicles are nowadays, couple that with just looking ahead of you and not paying attention they probably don't see the cops until they are right up on them.
Dude, most people are driving, on their phones, tired coming from work, Most are on auto pilot. Listening to music loudly, you spend years driving, you don't expect to be by a car chase on a random Wednesday at 2:36PM, even if you're fully attentive and paying attention, it just comes at you out of nowhere. Hindsight is 20-20 u cant blame any of these people, we all have our own lives.
Crazy that someone called the cops and had that man ran up on with guns drawn because he didn't want to verbally announce his withdrawal amount. Glad to know he was telling the truth
@@roseyshades96 He was suspected of attempting to rob the bank. Just because you boil it down to “because he didn’t want to verbally announce” does not change the fact that the teller felt the way they felt. You can extrapolate your reasoning to many other situations in which you’d realize how stupid it is to make that statement.
2:40 "After being caught red handed and sent straight to the can" **dude proceeds to fall out of hatch into a garbage can** Lmao 😂 that was pretty good
13:00 it wasnt just someone who thought it was suspicious, it was thr bank teller he gave the note to. She was responsible for this whole situation, even though he clearly wrote the account number how much money, nothing threatening and gave her his ID and card, and she made it sound like a fuckin bank robbery
Yeah the video omits that part but Ryan gave them all his info...and they're were still like..."NOPE brother man here trying to rob us...get 'em boys!!!"
The cops fucked this up as well.. they had all that info too but still put him in cuffs. Before even interacting with him they could have confirmed that super easily but instead they go heavy handed and fucked with a very wealthy man who will take their ass to court. It’s nobody’s fault? Lol guy making these videos loves the taste of boots, these cops were out of line
And the bank manager instead of doing his job, because sure the situation was a bit unusual, just told the teller to call the cops. The teller actually did the right thing, she was in a unusual situation, went to her manager to explain the situation and instead of the manger doing his job and his responsibility, threw the teller "under the bus" and told her to call the cops, even though he could have called the cops himself.
@@Arjay404that manager ain't shit😭 I would've told bro to lift his glasses so I could at least see his eyes (probably ask him to lower his mask for a second to confirm it was him in the ID), make a copy of it and give him the money. Maybe she was new🤷🏾♀️ Odd but when you work with the general public, you come across a lot of weird shit 🥴
The Ryan Coogler one is missing information, i have watched the full video on another channel and it was the teller at the bank who claimed he was trying to rob the bank. The other video had her on tape stated that he handed over his ID, and bank card, with the note and she went into the back to "get the money" and she called the cops on him. She repeatedly says as she is reporting the "robbery" that he handed over his state ID and his bank account details but as she is "reporting a robbery" the cops show up thinking there is a robbery in process.
She's a moron for not recognizing the ID matched the customer, I mean who has ever robbed a bank supplying both a bank card and ID in person? And he's an idiot for not using a withdrawal slip. Why are you writing letters when there are withdrawal slips available 🤔
@@NoobTamer That was more of a rule of thumb BEFORE COVID-19. At some point, you couldn't even walk into a bank WITHOUT a mask on. If the teller wanted to ID him, they could have asked him to lower the mask for a second to ID him.
@@rheap129 Wearing a mask in a bank is asking for trouble hands down. No one else was wearing a mask in the footage, so why would he? It's asking for trouble.
@@NoobTamer Some people were still wearing masks at the time of this encounter, because while it wasn't mandated, it was still encouraged, and it wasn't out of the ordinary, since, as I said, people had worn masks during the pandemic and some people were still wearing them. Even now, some people STILL wear masks.
@@tonystone1016true but in the moment it doesn’t matter. He’s innocent until proven guilty and that’s what the cop knows even though he and everywhere there saw it. All he had to do is shut up. He’s definitely guilty, but that will have to play out and be proven in court. If he goes talking off and spilling the beans now and everything’s coming from HIS mouth and not the lawyers, then his fate is sealed before he ever makes it to the jail, let alone the trial. The cops just trying to keep this guy innocent until proven guilty
Bank robberies almost never have potential to make millions, tbh. Hundreds of thousands at best like 99% of the time, most banks don't have excessive cash reserves onsite. Even when they do, it's guaranteed to be behind a bunch of robbery failsafes, like timed vault locking systems and systems that require multiple high-level employees' credentials simultaneously.
Another thing to note is to even do heists like that requires money equipment and a large ass team the problem with criminals in large groups is that one always cracks and gets them all screwed over is the biggest reason they are unsuccessful
@@LegendOfTheFLame393 exactly, getting the money and escaping the immediate police response is already difficult, but it's only step one. Continuing to evade detection/capture with the subsequent investigation, or even being able to spend your take without arousing suspicion, can arguably be even harder. Especially because bank robbery investigations, at least in the US, often involve the FBI, not just local and state authorities
Honestly, the whole Ryan situation was handled really well. Kudos to Ryan for keeping his cool as many people handle misunderstandings in an irate manner and cause things to escalate. With that being said, Ryan- my man, we gotta find a better way to safely advise Banks how much money you want to withdraw without passing over a note. At least tell them beforehand that you will be making a withdrawal with your bank card but the amount will be listed on the note for safety purposes, or something like that..
how do you commit robbery by claiming you have a bomb on you? "i have a bomb!" "nothing else? gun? knife" "no i have a bomb" "ok...i won't give you money...now...what?"
What a great cop. Literally telling him: "Hey, shut up buddy. Anything you say is gona be used against you." Not the typical Miranda reading - literally telling saying: "SHHHH! STOP TALKING!"
I love the first cop hahaha "I'm the reason why you're arrested! I'm hi Jordan patterson" "shshshshshshsh you have the right to remain silent shshshshshshsh" hahahaha
ryan cooglers was the bank teller being blatenly racist thought it was suspcious a black man was asking to descretly withdraw a large sum didn't even confirm info just called cops. sad.
Ryan Coogler had the police called on him by the actual bank teller and you are reporting this wrong. The man used his own card, entered his own PIN number, and handed a note explaining the amount he wanted OUT OF HIS OWN ACCOUNT. The fact that you didn't fully explain the story is disrespectful to him because you are framing like its his fault. The cops were completely in the wrong by not even investigating the story before putting everyone in cuffs as if its not a big deal to deprive people of their freedom, even for a moment. Felt bad for him, he looked really distressed.
I didn't even know about this story until watching the video and didn't have the takeaway that there was anything bad about Coogler's character from the depiction given here.
In the Coogler case, I believe it was the receptionist he handed the note to that was racist, assumed it was a robbery, and told their manager they were being robbed, and called the police. I believe Bank of America paid him out to not go too public with it or try and make a big public lawsuit against them
My thing with the issue of Ryan Coogler, he showed his bank card, confirmed the money was in the account, the MANAGER came over and confirmed it was infact the same person. But they STILL called the cops on him for robbery. I do believe if I remember right, the bank made a statement about the mess up, both teller and manager were fired
NOOO WAY 2:10 IS THE FUCKING BEST PART “shhhh shhhhh” “you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you” “shhh shhhh”
Love the cops in the first video despite knowing it’s him for a fact “hey man shush just in case there’s a slim chance you can get out of this in court”
A friend of mine used to rob pharmacies. He got away after three, but during the fourth, he was shot in the chest. I saw him on the news, his hair and bandana, and eyes on the pharmacy camera, I knew without a doubt it was him. He carried a gun but it was never loaded. RIP TJ
TJ had it coming. Even an unloaded gun pointed at a poor clerk can cause someone to have a fucking heart attack, or at least put into a situation they shouldn't be, all because he wanted quick cash. We're better off without him.
I did the same thing in a Bank of America. I needed a large sum of cash to take to my contractor for house repairs. I handed the cashier a note which read, "Please, I need to take out this amount. I don't want to mention the amount because I'm alone and will be getting on public transportation. I don't know if I will be followed once I leave the bank." She smiled and said, "Please swipe your card. She gave it to me in an envelope, I put it in my bookbag and left.
First case: Never treat a criminal in a hospital & always release police dog no matter what... they deserve it. Second case: HOW MANY TIMES are you going to show the same old clip???????!!!!!!????
For the last guy gotta say he’s got that dog in him not wanting to be caught and even getting out of multiple boxing maneuvers only to fall to a Pit maneuver.
