I am hoping Lucas becomes a successful governor in S12. S11 was growing pains Lucas learning his new job as governor. He had a hard time with the resort project. HIS mysterious past caught up with him. Jeanette his ex-girlfriend ended up being a crimminal. So, we know Lucas had a past that he's not proud of. However, he told Jeanette he wants to be a good man. I think they will show him being a good man and governor in S12. I also believe Lucas will get a new love interest in S12. The love triangle is finally over. Elizabeth is with Nathan. I like Chris McNally too. I just like Kevin better with Erin for a Nathan and Elizabeth romance. They make a better couple in my opinion.

Lucas is the transition for these 2 love epic story of friendship, love and family! Lucas is big part of the community's future..hope for his love too, to happen next season! Love to all hearties! @@emydel679 Yeah I think in S12 we will see Lucas becomes a successful governor in Capital City. He will get a new love interest. I think WCTH was forever changed when Daniel decided to leave after S5. We got the Christmas movie when Jack Jr. was born on Christmas eve. Then in S6, we got Nathan and Lucas. Both Kevin and Chris are great actors. Elizabeth is the very main character of course, but I think that Nathan and Lucas are main characters now too. So, just because Elizabeth is with Nathan doesn't mean Lucas is not going to get a good storyline. I think S12, Lucas will end up a great governor and he will get a new love interest to date. So, we will see Lucas romance. Lindsay Sturman did say they are building a Capital City set. In Hope Valley we will see Elizabeth and Nathan's romance and love for each other. I think they will date, marry and raise their children together in a blended family! Then we will get all the other community stories. We will get stories about faith, hope, love, grace forgiveness, justice, and redemption. Then all about Elizabeth, Nathan and Lucas' different careers.

@@BeverlyR-dl5ftKevin is a phenomenal actor and a perfect fit for the main male lead. We know Alfonso’s vision was Nathan and JT changed the direction of the show to go with Lucas. After the dark years, the show was facing cancellation. Thank God Lindsay was brought in to breathe new life into the show with the help of Alfonso as consultant. Lindsay bent over backwards to give L depth of character and unfortunately CM fans are still spewing hate at Erin Kevin and Lindsay. Apparently they enjoyed the Tinker driven Mr. no depth, shallow Teacup snogfest. I don’t know why there is such a rush to give L a love interest. He spent the last 6 years pursuing and courting Elizabeth not to mention an engagement. Let’s continue delving into his past and his redemption arc first. Even though it’s not a necessity in my mind, Lindsay will again bend to CM’s fans and introduce one.

@@user-lt9oc9bg5u yeah we still don't know how bad Lucas' past was. Did he do anything criminal. I mean Jeanette was his girlfriend & she's a criminal or was Lucas one of those men that walk the line of right & wrong morally or ethically doing questionable things, but never anything criminal. Maybe Jeanette had been the same way & then she finally did cross that line & do something illegal. Maybe Lucas found out & that's why Lucas left Jeanette because he didn't want to be mixed up with a criminal or do criminal things himself & go to jail. Just some thoughts I had recently. 🤔 Also, yes Lucas I think did some things that weren't great maybe he changed. Maybe getting to know Elizabeth changed him. Maybe that was the real purpose of Lucas' relationship with Elizabeth even though that relationship didn't work out because Elizabeth was in love with Nathan. The purpose was so Lucas would change. (Yes, I know it wasn't supposed to be E&L together & JT changed it, but I'm looking at it with the reality that JT's seasons exist & LS has to work with them) Now, Lucas can have a redemption story. Yeah her always looking for him when she was with Lucas made me know that we would get a N/E relationship eventually that L/E wouldn't last. Then she still always found a reason to be around Nathan even after she got engaged to Lucas. Elizabeth couldn't keep from being physical with Nathan always hugging him. Plus they are the ones that had the deep meaningful conversations and a heart connection.....Lucas and Elizabeth were surface stuff. They never talked about anything deep or meaningful. It was all surface level in their relationship. Plus Lucas didn't trust her. When Elizabeth questioned a guest intentions Lucas got nasty with Elizabeth for questioning the man's intentions. Instead of trusting her. I'm not sure he ever apologized for that! Oh but wait they have a love for books in common 😆 big wow. That isn't the stuff that makes a relationship work and last. Also, Nathan is a man who reads books too! So, Nathan and Elizabeth will have that in common too! Remember, Rosemary and Nathan's scene at the library when Nathan had gone to get a book and Rosemary tried to talk about Elizabeth with him. Nathan tells Rosemary, "I can't give up Elizabeth that easily, I just can't." Yes, Nathan and Elizabeth have more in common like a love for music. Nathan just isn't showy with it where as Elizabeth & Allie are in the choir. Nathan likes the quieter moments singing & playing his guitar with Allie. So, I see him singing with Elizabeth, Allie, and Jack Jr. in the future the quieter moments as a couple with their kids and then eventually together as a a family man with the family once N/E are married. 🎸 🎶 😊 Nathan and Elizabeth are both bonded as single parents having raising a child in common. They give each other advice about the kids.. These two have a lot in common. Plus they both love and care for each other's kids too! Nathan and Elizabeth were meant to be. This was a typical Hallmark story done in there movies all the time. WCTH just applied it to the TV show. In the movies, a woman is with a man, but ends up realizing while she might care & love him her relationship with him isn't right. There is something deep and meaningful missing from the relationship (Sometimes it's the man who breaks up with the woman) However, the woman comes to realize another man (the second man in her life) in her life is right for her. They have the important meaningful conversations and connection. She realizes she is in love with this man. By the end of the movie the couple marry. WCTH just applied this to Elizabeth's journey she was in love with Nathan, but rejected him because of fear. She was traumatized by Jack's death and didn't want to ever go through that again. So, she ran away from Nathan. She couldn't handle that she was falling in love with another mountie. So she rejected Nathan. Elizabeth got into a safer relationship with Lucas. She was trying to protect herself from getting hurt again. She ended up caring for Lucas and maybe loving him, but it was safe and comfortable. She eventually realized she wasn't with him for the right reasons and broke up with him. Then Elizabeth eventually gets with Nathan because she is in love with him. They have a heart connection. They have being single patients in common. Nathan and Elizabeth have a solid, strong friendship (when she was with L then broke up with L ) that turned into a solid, strong romance and love with honesty and trust at the core with friendship being a strong foundation for their romantic relationship. So yes WCTH writers did a typical Hallmark move in the story with Elizabeth being with the first man breaking up with him and then getting with the second man because she is in love with him. I love Nathan and Elizabeth as a couple! ❤🔥😍😊💘 As far as the WCTH writers going full on typical Hallmark, I feel like we all should have seen this coming! 😂 Great job WCTH writers! 😊 ❤

She tried to convince herself that her fondness for Lucas was love and maybe I guess it was safe love. Elizabeth started to stop denying to herself that she was in love with Nathan in this scene. I can totally see this as being true! Nathan is Elizabeth's next great love where Jack was Elizabeth's first great love. 💘 😊

I'm TN, but let's try to give our opnions without being unkind to the other team. I think the love triangle is finally over. Elizabeth has been in love with Nathan since he declared he was in love with her in S8. She was just fearful and ran away out of fear. So, since Lucas was persistant in pursuing her she decided to date him. She chose him because it was safe and she was trying to protect herself from getting hurt. She did end up loving him, but not enough to stay with him. He was a safe comfortable love. He had been a rebound. She tried to forget how in love with Nathan she was, but that didn't work. So, Elizabeth broke up with Lucas. Now in S11, episode 11 Elizabeth is finally in a relationship with Nathan. The man who has been in love with her since S8 and she has been in love with too, but had been to fearful to be with him. Now Elizabeth is facing her fears! Nathan gave Elizabeth a plaque "Always, do what your afraid to do." I wonder how many times Elizabeth looked at that plaque that was put in the library before she faced what she was afraid of a relationship with Nathan and the possibility of losing him to death? Then she finally apologized to Nathan for hurting him and telling him fear got in the way, gave that beautiful speech, and declared, "Nathan, I'm in love with you." Kevin and Erin are so talented as the couple Nathan and Elizabeth on this show! ❤😊 I believe S12, Lucas will end up going to Capital City and becoming a successful governor. Lindsay said they are building a set for Capital City in an interview. So looks like Chris will still be a big part of the show everyone. Hopefully that makes TL a little happier. I believe Lindsay will get Lucas a new love interest he meets in Capital City. He will probably visit HV with this new woman in his life. ❤😊

Maybe a forgiveness story can be told still in S12. Elizabeth asks for Lucas forgiveness for hurting him and he being a rebound relationship for her. He gives forgiveness. It could be a good storyline. Maybe the story will come when Elizabeth tells Lucas she is marrying Nathan.

@@BeverlyR-dl5ft I was thinking exactly the same. Elizabeth's decision hurts both men. A storyline that shares Lucas having a hard time in his love's life would be great because he has been hurt by Elizabeth's actions. Jeannette and Elizabeth hurt him in a way that should have a consequence in his choice/decision related to his next love. A story showing that he does not want to take the next step with his next girlfriend or how he will pursue/ court her can be good. Because with Elizabeth, he was persistent. It will be interesting to see how it will change how he will court his next love's interest. But I also think his love story will change Elizabeth and deeply scare him, too. In the show's timeline, within 6-8 months, he has been dumbed by his fiance (3 weeks before the wedding), has been elected governor, has been shot, has failed to implement his GV, and has been betrayed by his ex-girlfriend. Well, it is a lot...We can analyze that in episode 12, he lacks confidence. I really feel bad for him. I have always been Team Nathan. But I am pretty sad for him.

Elizabeth was never married to Lucas, therefore it was not cheating. Elizabeth was dating Lucas. Even being engaged to a man is still technically dating. She was still a single woman. A commitment isn't made between a couple until you both say your marriage vows to each other in front of God with a pastor officiating or a judge officiating, in my opinion! Elizabeth was perfectly fine breaking up with Lucas ending her engagement if she felt that relationship wasn't right for her. Obviously she didn't feel that relationship was right. She didn't want to leave HV and more importantly the real reason she broke up with Lucas was Elizabeth was in love with Nathan! ❤😊

@@user-wf8xf1hf2i a true commitment is made when marriage vows are said. Especially if we are trying to be historically accurate to the time period. I know society today people make "commitments" to each other some couples live together without a marriage. But they say it's a commitment. Personally, I wouldn't live with a man I was a couple with while only dating even in today's society. My values say there is something there that is special saying marriage vows and truly committing to each other as a couple in marriage before God. I know unfortunately not everyone takes marriage vows as serious in today's society. Some people do still though.....my grandparents were married for 65 years. Grandma just lost grandpa to death cancer unfortunately a couple years ago. However, I do think marriage vows were taking more seriously in this shows time period.

A woman was engaged to a man, but broke up when she realized she had feelings and was in love with another man. It happens even in real life in normal circumstances. In the character Elizabeth's case she had a lot of trauma that affected her decision making. So she chose Lucas, but realized it wasn't the right relationship and she didn't chose him for the right reasons. She loved Lucas,, but not enough not the way you should love the man you are to marry.. About a year later, S11 episode 11 now she is no longer denying she is in love with Nathan.

You can get past seasons and season 11 on DVD. Last year they showed past seasons on Hallmark Family. Watch sometime next year for them to maybe show WCTH past seasons again on either Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Family, they might show it again. 😊 Nathan and Elizabeth are a couple now it's beautiful! 😍

It made plenty of sense. Elizabeth went through a lot of trauma. She was in love with Nathan, but fear of losing him stopped her from being with him. So, when Lucas was pursuing her she decided to see if that relationship would work because it was safe. Lucas was a rebound relationship. Being with a mountie there was always a chance of losing Nathan in the line of duty. Elizabeth got to know Lucas and even came to love him, but not enough to stay with him. She realized she couldn't leave HV and she especially couldn't leave Nathan. She finally stopped denying she was in love with Nathan. ❤😊

I think EK very clearly spelled out why Elizabeth didn't pick Nathan in S8 despite her feelings for him. Sorry if you can't comprehend it.

You are completely lost. Kevin was hired to be the love interest not Chris. Kevin is a very experienced actor and he and Erin have incredible on screen chemistry. No chemistry with L no matter how Erin tried, it takes two to create chemistry.

This "beautiful relationship between Elizabeth, Little Jack and Lucas" only existed in S9 after Elizabeth picked Lucas. Erin spent much of this interview explaining how she had feelings for Nathan since S7 (Lindsay Sturman was not the showrunner in S7, by the way) but wasn't ready for them. She did NOT suddenly develop feelings for Nathan in S10. Did you miss the scenes and examples discussed?

Nathan and Elizabeth’s relationship just started. Their first kiss was beautiful and passionate for TN. None of us felt the bridge/beard eating scene was the least bit passionate. I for one would prefer sweet kisses mixed in with passionate private kisses for Nathan and Elizabeth. Over the top pda (L&E) is not what I want for them as they have a mature relationship that includes children.

First off she had an interest in Nathan way before season 10 ever happened. If you remember correctly she was struggling for a long time between the two suitors. This was evident through her many conversations with Rosemary. She got scared after the ending of season 7 and it pushed her to bury whatever feelings she had for Nathan down. She ran away from those feelings, making what she felt was a safer choice to protect her heart. Whether you want to believe it or not, her struggle with Nathan goes all the way back to season 6. I don't know if you watched all of season 11, but the dream theory is pure bunk. It didn't happen. This is not a fantasy Sci fi show so I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were you because it isn't happening. Lastly I'll list the things that Nathan and Elizabeth have in common for you since you seem to be under the misguided impression that she is only fantasizing about a life with a Mountie which is also pure bunk. I know it's hard for some to believe that money isn't everything and that not everyone wants to have fancy dates, live in large governor mansions, and be constantly wined and dined, but it's true. Her relationship goes much deeper than that with Nathan. When you can't even talk about your dead spouse with your current partner than you might have issues. Her talks with Nathan have always gone deeper than anything she ever had with Lucas. They talk about everything from Jack to the hardness of being single parents. Other than helping her get her book published, which was great, what else have she and Lucas gone deep with? Nothing. Things they have in common: 1. They are both single parents. This is a really important connection. 2. They are both community servants. 3. They both enjoy reading (JT brought that up with Nathan in season 8 in a conversation he had with Rosemary in the library. In fact, he even said he enjoyed books by women authors. Lucas failed to read Virginia Woolf's book, even though he was taking Elizabeth on a date to see her). 4. They both love riding horses. 5. They both prefer a simple life. 6. They have helped encourage each other through difficult situations. Nathan with his father and Elizabeth with Higgins. 7. They both love living in Hope Valley. 8. They both desire family life. I'm sure there are things others can add to the list, but your comments about her just fantasizing over life with a Mountie couldn't be further from the truth. She has learned that Nathan is not Jack and she sees him for the man that he is beyond the Serge. On a side note, I think they might be setting up Faith with Lucas. There were some very interesting deleted scenes between those two in season 11 or maybe they will bring back Tom for her. Lots of story possibilities with Nathan and Elizabeth together and Lucas and Faith together. 😉

@@jamielf8690Good thoughts. I would add that E and N share real feelings and thoughts with one another and sometimes challenge each other which a deeper relationship will do. They have learned to sometimes get annoyed with each other but then how to makeup afterwards. Lucas seemed almost afraid to challenge E as though he was afraid to lose “the prize” that was E. If she showed any displeasure, he immediately said he was sorry and would back off. N apologizes when he is wrong but he offered pushback when she was displeased as well. These two also seemed to pick up on each other’s mood and expressions pretty quickly, like when N picked up on E’s pensive look when everyone was congratulating her and L on L’s decision to run for governor.
