I think be sure to too much confidence in her life. And stopping her grandson from seeing her was wrong. And the fact that she doesn't have a marker or a funeral that was all bishores doing. I think now that she's passed away. I think he should demand the location of his grandmother so he can pay his respects. But I'm sure she'd go to jail.
So sad that some beautiful and amazing people have no luck in love .For example like Princess Diana stories and tragedy And many others. I asked myself why ? I hope they find peace and love in God kingdom Rip 🙏🙏
So beautiful that Doris had such loving connection to animals . But so sad that so many took advantage of her. . From ex husbands to managers to lawyers . So sad. Because she worked so hard all those years and made so much money for so many yet she was always smiling and working hard for welfare of animals . I love Doris Day .
@@trevorjennings72 Hi . Nice to meet you Trevor . Yes I am doing fine . Early on in 2019 when Covid just broke out I got it. Back then even masking was not mandatory in public yet . It took me 2 weeks to get over it . But not too serious . Muscle weakness and headache . Those were my symptoms . I hope you are doing well too . Have a great evening . ❤️
Of course, and you're "very" smart !! it is NOT important that she loved the animals !!! She loved more than everything her grandson, and they were both, - granny and grandson - forced to terminate their relationship and connection !!!! THAT is really important, and not the animals ! And who was the criminal that stopped that relationship ? Who wanted the end of that God-given relationship ? The answer is the jew Bashara. You continue to meditate about the animals !!!!!!
Doris Day had the most beautiful voice I ever heard. The way she phrased each song and her facial expressions were incredible. I've been watching as many of her movies I can lately. Those classics were beautifully made. 😍 R.I.P. dear 😇 angel.
When Doris Day appeared on the screen, her personality always lit up the room. She could play both funny and serious roles and brought each one of those characters to life in her own unique way which was perfection. I've always loved her films and amazing singing voice. A beautiful lady both inside and out and who I will always miss. R.I.P. ❤
Loved Doris Day's show and her movies she was fabulous in more ways than one and beautiful too❤️ She also cared for animals which tells you the kind of person she was❤
I was appalled by the fact that a relative stranger, Beshara opted to keep Doris Day permanently away from her grandson and thwarted all attempts by Doris to visit with her and sadly, her grandson was her only blood relation, after the untimely passing of her only child & son, Terry. I highly disapprove of strangers who for whatever reason, intentionally butts in and do their utmost to jettison any family contact and reunions. Especially as DD was getting on in years with only her pets for companionship & comfort. I'm quite saddened by this sad chapter and should prove that famed and admired 'stars' are usually but not totally, lead their senior years very much alone. This so-called manager has had a financial agenda and who came to interfere in the lives of vulnerable celebrities that are getting on in years. I don't blame her for wanting her exit this world quietly and her desire to pass away with a minimum amount of mourning. So her final days were tinged with unhappiness. She was a mega talented who deserved better treatment.
That part bothers me also & I don't understand it. I have always loved her since I saw her when I was an child I n Hello Dolly!! My Mom an I have surely watched all the great actors & actresses of that era they are an were loved an Missed! Rest in Eternal Peace....
Doris Day was one of the most beautiful, talented and honorable people to have graced the screen. An absolute Thoroughbred. A true star. She is missed.
Doris Day was an icon that alot of people loved her. I for one, was one of the gals who simply admired her for her acting, dancing, singing. It is sad that she chose not to have a funeral nor marker. She was beautiful. RIP Doris.
She was a very huge part of Actors & Others for Animals. I met her once @ one of their events. She was so kind & very generous. May she RIP. A hell of a woman!
What a legacy Doris Day has left. Her films will be enjoyed forever by future generations for the true gems that they are. Beautiful lady inside and out, talented singer, and could play serious roles as well as comedic. Love her movies with Rock Hudson, and love her in Hitchcock's remake of The Man Who Knew Too Much. A true Hollywood lwgend.❤
Doris was one in a billion, unique natural talents, a beautiful vocal gift and a ray of sunshine. She was brilliant in great films like `Love Me or Leave Me ` and `Calamity Jane` but Doris was so good she even saved lousy films like `Starlift` and `Tunnel of Love` from being total flops. No matter what film she made , good or bad, you just love her. Another example of her immense talent saving a film was the film ` Caprice` she`s wonderful in that film as it shows her natural talent for physical comedy. Also the title song `Caprice` is beautifully sung by Doris. She was a total natural in `With Six you get Eggroll `... Loved her in `Jumbo` , Teachers Pet , Send Me no Flowers, Pajama Game , The Thrill of it All, Please Don`t eat the Daises`, Julie, The Glass Bottom Boat, Pillow Talk , and one of her earliest films `My Dream is Yours`. Another early film which gave us the first glimpse of her talent for drama was the film `Storm Warning`. It is sad all the many years she`s brought joy to the lives of millions and millions of people , she almost had no one in her own life to do the same for her . I was so sad for her when her son Terry passed because they were very close and there was really no family left after he passed other than grandson Ryan which by that time was no longer in Doris`s life. I`m not surprised Doris did not want a funeral or a grave marker, she was like that about her own pets, whenever one of her doggies passed, she would never want to know where they were buried and she almost never talked about their death. Thankfully she kept her faith in God and she never lost her passion for the animals . I heard her say once during an interview that she believe God put animals here on earth to teach us love , patience and loyalty . RIP Miss Day !
I wish she had a better, happier personal life.. She certainly made alot of people happy with her abundant talents. Because of her personality,, I think she probably made a great friend & easy to talk with. Rest in peace, you lovely lady❤
I really loved her pictures. She gave a lot of happiness through her movies, singing, and of course her passion for animals. she appeared to be a kind and gentle soul. My only sadness is that she never really enjoyed a relationship with her grandson. I would certainly question the motives of I guess it was her manager who seem to interfere with their relationship. Something that is not uncommon in the Hollywood genre.
Manson was looking to take out Terry Melcher, had his Family go to his old house in Hollywood Hills, which was rented out by Roman Polanski and his wife, the late Sharon Tate
God does not bless sin and perversion. Sometimes tolerates it for quite some time and that's out of his Mercy but then comes Justice. Mercy is an unmerited gift that no one deserves and The Giver of the gift is under no obligation to do so. Justice on the other hand is getting what one deserves sometimes that is God's reaction to dispense Justice. Sometimes that Justice is Earthly and sometimes it comes after life and sometimes it occurs both in this life and in the next. I suggest you read Romans 8 and 9
@@samadams6487God bless Doris Day for her compassion - that is the true reflection of Christ’s teachings. Let him that is without sin, cast the first stone .. also fyi sanctimony is not impressive and garners you no respect.
@@jgfreer8322 I was not referring to her compassion but rather to his affliction. You're quoting a line where they were going to Stone a woman and biblically the penalty is in fact death for what you gave. Christ came at that time for a different purpose. The next time he comes it will be for judgment. Furthermore Matthew does call us to judge those who claim to be Christian. Wherever did you get the idea that we are not to judge people? We would have a very difficult justice system if we did not do that. You are twisting lines for your own purposes
I always liked Doris Day, she was pretty, funny, talented & loved animals! ❤ I think I love her more for her love of pets more than her talent, but she surely was that, too! Rest in Peace, Doris. Thankfully we have her films to watch.
Doris Day was always so pretty. I am 55 but appreciate her movies, especially Calamity Jane. Old films interest me. I have mad respect for her dedication to our animals. She reminds me of Betty White and her love of animals. Thank you😊 🕊️🙏❤️
Doris Day and Betty White were from the same era, both opinionated, and both advocates of animals not equaled in subsequent generations of stars. From their furry friends they no doubt both received the unequivocal love missing in the ego-centered world of filmaking.
A beautiful lady, talented, intelligent, sexy / her own person. A shame her “ husbands” took advantage and lost her son. She went through a lot. She really deserved happiness.
Thank you. I guess Hollywood brands certain people. They don’t like when you don’t want to do certain scenes. Like “the nude scenes” to me that’s why she had class and was her own person.
She was one in a million!!!! She was just so lovely... Her acting was great.. Pillow Talk, was my favorite movie with Rock Hudson...A touch of Mink, Lover come back, Send me no Flowers, The glass bottom boat, Please don't eat the daisies, Do not Disturb, Move over Darling!! So very many fun movie's.....We miss you deeply..Thank You for being such a beautiful actress and a love for dog's!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️... 🌹🌹🌹🌹... 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️......
Doris Day was an icon to those of us who grew during her movie performing era. Evan today I still enjoy watching her wholesome movies and wish there were more movies like them for young people and children to see…..😢😊
Had a chance encounter with Doris in the lobby of the hotel she owned with her son. She was arranging flowers. I spoke to her briefly, but the moment will be indelible in my memories.
Fun stuff, thank you so much for sharing your life story. We're happy to know that you had a chance to meet Doris! Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
Similar circumstances to Howard Hughes towards the end of his life with his "handlers" who controlled & prevented access to him, dying in an outrageously pitiful state. They and the Mormon church ended up enriching themselves from his estate.
I thought she had a wonderful voice that wasn't hear😂 enough. A great actress to bad her life wasn😮 better, she certainly deserved better. She was like a grown up Barbie doll she looked lovely in everything she wore.
She was mostly a recluse in her last years, but her privacy was well-earned and completely understandable. She lived a full and energetic life, and is now at rest in a peaceful eternity.
Now in 2023, lots and lots of every day people to many celebritys could & should take an example of Doris Day's honesty, faithfulness in various different ways - being a very good colegue - and stood by her personal prioritys & standards! Yes, Doris Dy was a moral perso, in the every day life - in the entertainment life & ammong friends & colegues in private! Unlike now these days, if - if you know, what I mean . . . . . . ??!
Doris Day was open about being a Christian Scientist. That explains why she did not want a funeral. Funerals in the faith are never held in a CS church. They may be held privately if someone wishes. Man is viewed as immortal and death is merely a natural passage. My grandmother was a devout Christian Scientist and I attended Sunday school as a child. While their beliefs differ from mine today, I respect them. Hopefully, this explanation helps give possible understanding of Doris Day's final wishes. What a great lady she was!
I really loved seeing Doris on TV and in her movies, besides she had a great singing voice. The world lost a beautiful soul when Doris Day passed away! ❤❤
I love that she was a lover of animals. I am still looking forward to the day that I can visit her hotel in Carmel and stay there. My mother taught me her song “Que será, será” when I was three years old. My family used to have me sing it in front of our guests at home when the friends would ask us to perform which was often. Sadly, as I grew older I became shy and withdrawn. Now my life has come full circle, happily married for many years and an animal lover as well. Thank you Ms. Doris Day for gracing our lives with your talent. You are still fondly remembered to this day. 🩷🙏🌹
Doris was my favorite Actress. I loved all her Movies and her Singing too! I think it is sad that She didn’t get to see her Grandson. That’s not right, he was stopped from seeing his Grandma, that is cruel, and it is strange her Manager fired who She and Terry hired. and then the Manager hired his Family members. I just wonder who got Doris’s Money and Did her Grandson receive any money. Doris should of realized something was wrong when her Grandson didn’t show up. The communication between Doris and Her Grandson was blocked without Doris’s knowledge. Does anyone else think this is strange?
No one on this earth could EVER keep me from my family...no one! Under the circumstances perhaps she donated her estate to the animal foundation she created. If she left it to her grandson I an sure the manager would find a way to get it. A foundation would be harder to acquire it through Unscrupulous channels I would think. Regardless, I loved all of her performances. She started as an outstanding talent and to her last movie, that excellence remained just that, excellent.
Definitely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
@@FactsVerse i wasn't born until years later. But my parents introduced to he films, I was taking by how beautiful she was and what a figure and talent, she could be very funny. Doris was a lovely person and a great friend to the tradic rock hutson 👱♀️🌹💞💔🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
What right did her manager have keeping her only grandson from her. Perhaps the grandson should now be looking into this man and his motives for stopping him from seeing his grandmother. RIP Doris Day.
Poor Doris to have these 6 huge losses. The death of her only child and the estrangement from her only grandchild at the hands of her “manager” must have been incredibly painful for her. The only constant were the constant comfort of her own pets. If only more people; friends, partners families were that constant unwavering support to each other, like pets are. I hope that she had her pets to the end and arrangements were made for a forever loving home after Doris death. The loving way she treated her pets ….she would have treated her son and grandson the same with songs and stories….such a shame. Thank you Doris for your music, acting and animal advocacy for animal’s living conditions. You are missed and loved.
She was such a kind personality.she did a cameo on Que Sera sera wirh Sly and the Family Stone that impressed me as a high shooler. It made her cool. Plus Her movies and her support for her friend, Rock Hudson til his tragi death.
Who couldn’t admire Doris Day! She was a lovely, talented woman, who could have just lived out her life quietly and privately. Instead, she went to bat for the sake of abused animals. I have no doubt that she is resting in peace.
I totally agree with DD. I’ve consumed a lot living… no need to consume more into eternity with a grave and marker. I don’t want a formal funeral, just a few (3 or 4) get togethers with family and friends, at dates and locations that are convenient for those interested. Free BBQ, free beer and some great macaroons for people to take home afterwards, all paid for out of my estate that should easily be worth 10’s of 100’s of dollars. Maybe even 100 hundreds of dollars. ($10,000 for the math challenged). Plant my ashes beneath a tree somewhere so people could come and visit. By the time the tree dies, nobody will care what happened to my body after I died.
Loved her song, Que Ser Ra. (spelling), What Will Be Will Be. Not much of a movie view of her films although I did watch her TV show sometimes but my biggest admiration is her love of animals her rescues. RIP Dolores. Too bad about that horrible manager keeping her from seeing her grandson.
How sad if Doris Day really felt she had a terrible life. Usually in such a LONG life there are SOME fond memories. If she married four times and was taken advantage of by managers and attorneys she must have had some trouble judging the character of the people she surrounded herself with. She was so beautiful and talented...I'm so sorry she had a life full of sorrow and pain. 💐
I loved Doris Day since I was in the fourth grade. Learned her songs and never missed one of her films. It's too bad her third husband left her in a financial mess and she later had a god awful lawyer. (most lawyers should be put down). She lived a long life and I think her animals made it a happy one. Seems animals make life worth living most people today.
Doris Day was/is my favorite❤️❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺🌺🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛ and agree pets have unconditional love and brought her comfort and joy until her passing. I have her movies to bring laughter!!
My Mum passed away over 10 years ago, but I do remember watching the Doris Day show and enjoying it. The family link to Doris Day was when my Cousin married Doris's son Terry.
I remember seeing Doris Day once in a Chevrolet commercial on television. She was singing a jingle: "See the USA in your Chevrolet." I didn't even know she had passed away. 🤠
@@jennifersmall4027 The biggest star I can think of who made commercials was John Wayne. Most stars wouldn't do commercials because it lowered their value, it was slumming. Doris never made a commercial.
Midnight Lace! One of my favorites 👍. I'm sorry to hear she had so much sadness in her life. I always wanted to go and stay at her hotel because I read that sometimes she would come down on weekends for tea and crumpets with the guests😊.
So tragic that her life was filled with so much sadness and deceit by husbands and managers. But it was a crime she never got to form a relationship with her grandson, someone who could have given her some happiness.
Wasn't really a fan, as such, of Doris Day. Her choosing solitude all the way to the end, I can relate to and understand completely. Thanks for the documentary about Doris Day's life, Facts Verse. 🙏 RIP DORIS DAY 🙏
I have never wanted a funeral or even a burial plot. Also a very private person who doesn't want or to have a bunch of people going on about my life, of course all glorious, as usual. There is nothing about dying to celebrate, that is for the living. Dying is the end of life only
@@carolelocklin5512How wrong you are.Jesus is the way the truth and the life.Eternal life in Jesus is what we need. There is only heaven or hell the choice is yours.😊
@@carolelocklin5512 Agreed. Those of which were loved or well-liked, will ALWAYS have a place nestled in our hearts. I know the Doris fans still have many fond memories of her plus her recordings & movie, and with this vast legacy, her spirit lives on. I don't blame her for not wanting any fuss made over her passing. She was 97 and felt she accomplished music, which see has. Her Animal Foundations bears her name and so she continues to speak for the plight of the animals. Another reason may have been that her only child, a son, passed away in 2004. The Animal League overseer, refused to allowed her only blood survivor, her grandson to ever see Doris. She survived all her leading man save for Kirk Douglas who passed a bit over 6 months after DD. Thus she found herself isolated. When some reach such stages during their later life, they wish to exit this earth as quietly as possible.
I always admired and respected Doris Day for her talent and charm. She inspired me, especially when I learned we share the same birthday-April Third!! 😊
Well, what happened with her remains? As famous as she was it would have been nice to see where she was laid and see her marker. But it was her wishes and we must abide by that.
I think her whole estate should be given to her grandchild! The attorney for her son should be taken completely out of the picture by the courts. It is obvious he wanted to take over her and her son’s estates! It’s obvious he is unscrupulous and an evil person! I loved all her movies but I think my favorite was Calamity Jane! Her personality shined in that movie! As for her husbands, you never gave the reason for any of the divorces so it’s hard to comment. Given her personality and wholesomeness I think the problems were probably with the husbands!
Doris Day has always been, and will always be my favorite actress. I love watching her movies. I can’t name my favorite movie because I love them all. ☮️💟
I was surprised by her and her grandson not being together in the life she lived. It sounds like she was told only bad things from her manager. She was a beautiful singer and actor. I really don't believe she didn't want to be with her grandson in her later years. I'm sure she was lied to by her manager so sad to hear that😢
