Magnus Carlsen is one of the greatest players of all time, but how good is he while he's drunk? In this video Magnus plays a Chess Master in a local bar in Norway, but who will come out victorious? SUBSCRIBE IF YOU SEE THIS..
@@chesswizard7057 He means it as a compliment🙏 This channel is simply amazing in every way and we would love to see more of these type of videos because it shines light to chess compared to other more simple chess videos.
Hi, Some additional information as I was there : - This happened in a bar in Switzerland, not Norway. - Damien Ribiere is not a National Master, (he plays for France and this federation does not provide this title) - Feel free to credit the original video, which was uploaded on the channel of EPFL chess club (our club). Thanks ! And thank you for the great video by the way 👍
@@martinsch6521 I think aayushgupta9773 is just right. If the king is checked on g7 he can just move to g6 where he is safe. Furthermore, there is no rook on c6.
@@martinsch6521 there is no rook on C6... I'm guessing you meant the rook on F6? Even so, how can that rook be attacked, there doesn't seem to be any move which does that except Rf7 which can be taken with the knight? Also once the king arrives on G7 isn't he completely safe? Only check is Bf7 which can be taken with the knight right?
I mean... all the blunders in this game are fair when you know that this guy was drunk with like 15 people watching him. He still won tho witch makes me impressed
At 4:25, if he took the knight with the rook, he threatened checkmate in 1. That way he could have elevated pressure on magnus eventually leading to a draw by repetition or resign
