Join me at work for a day doing plumbing
This is just what a typical day looks like for me, in this video I nearly have a disaster on the first job, swap out a heating pump, and connect a cabin up. Also do we quote or run from the last job, let me know what you would do
Thanks for all the support as always guys

I had a similar situation recently with the customer reporting a pump intermittently working and 'humming'. A test of the pump's capacitor found it was bad and was replaced. Great video Tom.

Hi Tom do watch your video's just to let you know that rad valve was a pegler and there 30 plus years old you don't repack gland if you took time. When you you took part out there are o rings on your 1 there are 2 and are green there is another valve same make but have 2 red one's so just need to replace o rings not sure if it's red or green you can take spindle out and do it live done it years ago hope this helps in the future regards
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
Thanks for the information mate, when I undid the top gland on this one the whole centre pin lifted out with it, water started spraying out, I know there's a few valves on the market that can be serviced live, I remember once trying to put a new gland kit in a Danfoss TRV and it going a bit pear shaped, I think some of these valves are coming towards the end of life and will eventually require replacing, thanks for watching mate

Hi Tom, as always you're a great inspiration to us all, you're never afraid to take on the most challenging jobs, makes a refreshing change from all the easy jobs seen elsewhere. Good work indeed. Sometimes it is what it is and you have to solve issues as they are on the day with the resources you have.

I wouldn't fancy getting that old boiler through that hatch 😂😂😂 . Why is it a "shunt pump" ?? Interesting as usual Tom 😆
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
A shunt pump just circulates water around the header and back to the boiler, the system pumps then circulate the water around the building, it's common on large systems and helps maintain temperatures at the boiler, I've no idea how that boiker got down there, i know there sectional but even still that would have been an effort, thanks for watching mate
@dennisphoenix1
@dennisphoenix1 Год назад
@@PlumbLikeTom so the shunt pump just moves the flow around a small loop and then the larger pumps move it around the building. Thanks tom

Hi Tom do you have any idea how to bleed air out of a wilo pump? I had an e11 fault for air on an open air system but couldn’t find anywhere to bleed the air from the Wilo pump.
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
Hi mate, some wilo pumps have a secret button on the back, as the pump is facing you feel on the back bottom right for a soft rubber button and press that, it put the pump in dearration mode, other than that stopping and starting the pump normally helps to clear air
