Amen Pastor Jones. Excellent sermon. I am saddened and dumbfounded how this family I have been around so many times could be given so much by God and then throw it all away for a wicked person. I cannot believe that this family would destroy their kids spiritual lives just so they could go directly against God's word by having fellowship with someone kicked out. I knew Josh WAY before them. I didn't know the kid was this messed up then, but even before he got kicked out I could've told them that he is a HORRIBLE choice for a potential husband for their daughter. Josh is a liar, flatterer, incredibly prideful and btw was a HORRIBLE soul winner! I never saw him do a good job once out soul winning. In fact, when I went with him last, I told your Pastor not to count his salvation because it was so weird and off! Maybe you should've asked some of your fellow church members if they thought he was a good soul winner before allowing him to teach your son "everything he knows"?? Saved or not, in fellowship or not, that kid is going to destroy your daughters life if he marries her. I hope if you are reading this that you will humble yourselves and at the least you will allow your kids to keep serving God. God sent an amazing church with a great Pastor to Boise, Idaho for you! You shouldn't have ruined it for someone the Bible says should starve. From someone who cares, I pray you guys find a way to serve God in the future.
It sounds like there were a multitude of reasons Josh was kicked out of the church. I am wondering what living in his van has to do with it tho? Is it a sin to live in your van?
He doesn't have a license, he is using the van to manipulate a family, he has to live in the van because he cant hold a job, and he has chosen to be homeless which violates 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12. Prior to this he had an apartment which the rent included food and room cleaning! hopefully he gets right I don't think living in a van around here is a good idea.
I can tell that this is a difficult message for you to preach. You are fidgeting and moving around a lot more than usual. Your body language and stuttering tells me your very upset.
