It seems the video looks like it’s the same timeframe and maybe it was but at the beginning you see Freestone sitting next to Barb Valintin, but then when he’s crawling on the floor it looks as though Mary is sitting at the table next to Mike Moran possibly, but when he first jumps up, it is a man sitting next to Straker. I think FM’s relationship fell out with Straker because it was getting harder and harder to hide his deterioration in health and was drawing himself into just his inner circle of those at GL. Only Freddie and Straker know fore sure what happened. I do have admiration for Straker that he’s never written a tell all and he hasn’t really done but a few interviews in regards to his friendship with FM. I do believe they were very close friends and maybe FM broke off the friendship because he didn’t want his dear friend see him wasting away anymore than he already had. I unfortunately know this from personal experience with my best friend who also died of AIDS. In the end, he had forsaken everyone and only clung to his immediate family until the bitter end.
I read the problem was that Peter had observed there was something obviously wrong with Fred’s health (but we know that Fred was keeping the truth close-to-his-vest and not telling anyone). Peter evidently pressed Freddie on the matter, Freddie refused to admit there was anything wrong, and they had a big falling-out over that fact. (It w/b easy to imagine Peter’s feelings being hurt or being insulted over the fact that - even tho they were such good friends - Freddie wouldn’t trust him enough to share/admit something was wrong. It’s possible that Fred “held out” against telling Peter because maybe Peter wasn’t the sort who could keep a secret.)
I don’t believe the truth about that matter will be known. There is more to it than that. I wonder why Peter was so touchy about his boyfriend in this video?
When they met for lunch, Peter was under the influence. He noticed the big deterioration in Freddie and asked him "Fred you don't have AIDS do you"? Freddie said, no no, it's a liver problem. That was the end of their relationship.
I dont think Jim necessarily lied but may have just assumed the wrong info (like when he said Freddie came clean about his Aids with Queen, i think that incident may have happened but it obviously wasnt when he told Queen, but maybe Freddie didnt tell Jim when he told Queen as he liked to keep his condition and feeling about Aid more private). From what ive read Jim is believable but many people online make up lies or misinterpreted his words. Peter Freestone i think is reliable years ago because ive seen somethings he has said now that doesn’t makes sense. For example he said he didnt know about “the white stuff” freddie used (cocaine) but it was pretty clear to everyone in Garden Lodge he used. I havent seen the interview or statement where Jim admitted he lied so idk. All we can do is connect some dots and just believe logically but the only people who truly know are them
I read a book that said Jim admitted to lying about things in the book. He admitted to the author he wasn't in the room with Freddie when he passed, it was Dave Clark. While I'm angry at Jim for lying about Freddie and most likely about other people and the whole house situation after Freddie died, I feel really bad for him. He was angry, he was grieving.
@@7389 Thank you ,for answering my question!!!! So that’s what my friends were talking about!!! I guess it’s like all books!!! Have a good day!!!🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏
I think you're confusing Peter with guys like Thor Arnold, Paul Gambaccini, David Wiig, guys who constantly are putting out interviews about him til this day. Straker has only done a few bits in documentaries and hasn't made a tel all book like the others have. And there's also Paul Prenter who really was a leech. I don't know what your basis is. You should really explain why you speak negatively of someone instead of just insult the person and leave it at that. Makes you look like a hater.
@@alonzotanner1226 Idk Freddie told David Wiig several things off the record that would be scandalous at the time and he didn't include them in his writings. So Freddie trusted him. The times are different now. People aren't calling HIV "the gay disease" anymore. I think now David is just trying to set the record straight and humanize Freddie.
