Rachel Fuhr Yes Queen of diction she’s absolutely amazing! Even in her previous role in Eugenius her diction was so on point also. Thank you so much for watching appreciate it a lot! I posted this because Laura was the only member not to get a Time Out session singing this when she’s incredible!
Lillie Oh Yes Laura is so on point as an actor. I know her really well having previously interviewed her when she was in Eugenius and the level of character development in Waitress is incredible. She gives so much love and commitment to the role of Dawn. I am so glad to see Laura doing so well! Thank you so much for watching and please do subscribe if you would like to see some more theatre content going ahead woo!
Caryn McKinney Right? Her commitment to her role and also her diction is so on point. A unique and very special Dawn I love her she’s amazing! Thank you ever so much for watching appreciate it a lot!
She is outstanding as Dawn and she previously did a Eugenius so is very up and coming. Waitress has really given her an amazing and well deserved platform and the campaigns for her coming back after stunt casting and the support she had here in London was unbelievable. So incredibly proud of her! Check out Laura in Eugenius and you’ll be blown away even more. Thank you so much for watching and for being so kind! If you would like to see more theatre vlogs I’m forever in a theatre please do subscribe you don’t have to I would just really appreciate it 🤗
What I love is that she hits the emotional beats and doesn't let the comedy drown out the anxiety or vice versa. Sometimes I see performances of songs on RU-vid where the singer is more focused on singing prettily than on conveying the tones and meanings and it frustrates me. This performer brought the song to life and deserves praise not just for her singing but for her acting.
Abi Chambers I went to see her on her return and she was absolutely amazing as always woo! Love your icon Lucie is fabulous. Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it!
Stunt casting gone wrong. More bums were back on seats when Laura returned as she is loved here so so much! Thank you for your support and for watching appreciate it a lot!
Kylie Alyssa I saw Colleen live and it was incredible. If she didn’t come from the internet and was already on broadway people wouldn’t doubt her or think it wasn’t good- she hit the notes, put her own twist on it, and her acting was great
@@A_4814 she was fine... She did improve but I do feel like there were other people more deserving of the role as opposed to just using fame to get people to come to the show. She was good... But others are better
So Laura Baldwin has been Dawn on the West End for a while now, and she is one of the cast members that some long time fans get really excited about seeing etc. So when Ashley Roberts got cast as Dawn for some August shows, obviously there was controversy anyway because people weren't a fan of her stunt casting replacing Laura, but here's the tea: so what actually happened is that ticket sales were going down rapidly and so the Waitress team basically just told Laura with hardly any warning, 'oh so just so you know, we're splitting your contract for a bit and replacing you! But don't worry you can come back in a month or two to carry on business as usual' I'm sorry but I find that so messed up, I mean I'm sure there was more going on and Laura was fine with it, but the fact was it was all very hush hush but then there was uproar because the Waitress team need to listen to their audience because although Ashley may be the 'bigger star' in the outside world - in the world of West End, Laura is the bigger star, and the star that people want to see. Audiences come to see people perform at their best, and do what they love! I find it so messed up because that's only one tiny thing that's happened over the last few years but there's been so much more! Ashley was brought in to boost ticket sales, but audience members actually started withholding tickets in protest! So now the show is in even deeper water than it was without Ashley, people are starting to say that they wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't even a show for Laura to come back to.
So basically Lucie Jones was in loads of the promotional stuff for Waitress on Broadway which confused so many people, so people started tweeting her only to receive absolute radio silence from her and the Waitress team. About three months later, audience members for West End were very confused as they sat watching the show, and suddenly realised that in fact the Jenna who was performing in front of them was Lucie Jones and not Katherine Mcphee who was supposed to be playing Jenna at the time. So audiences started sharing photos of the cast board with utter confusion because Lucie was clearly shown to be Jenna There was uproar because no promotional stuff had been released with Lucie, no interviews, nothing! People were furious at the way the situation had been handled but still the Waitress team released no comments on why Lucie Jones was suddenly popping up on the cast boards, when there are several understudies for Jenna yet Lucie (next replacement) seemed to be taking over for aweek? A theory was that the show wasn't selling so the Waitress team wanted to see if putting a big West End name on (Lucie) instead of an understudy would boost ticket sales - which caused fury with the public because how is that fair on the understudies? And also, if the idea was to raise ticket sales why would they not publicise the fact that Lucie is on for a week?! It's just so stupid because all through that week no one was allowed to address why she was suddenly appearing in the show, the fact is no one would have even realised that Lucie was in it is she hadn't been photographed at the bloody curtain call! It's just so unfair because I'm sorry but that's a huge deal, performing a lead on the West End! And yet Lucie got absolutely no publicity or even an informal announcement like 'oh hey its Lucie Jones this week' like WHAT!? Another strange thing is that she was clearly so well rehearsed for the part so people think that she may have been cast much earlier on, and was supposedto open the West End back in March instead of Kat Mcphee, but because there were already worries about how well the show would do, the Waitress team decided to have Kat open the show instead because she was 'bigger' due to being on American idol and stuff, so... Yeah. Thanks for listening to my rant, you're definitely very bored and wish you hadn't asked 😂😂
I stick with real things Usually facts and figures When information's in its place I minimize the guessing game Guess what? (What?) I don't like guessing games Or when I feel things Before I know the feelings How am I supposed to operate If I'm just tossed around by fate? Like on an unexpected date? With a stranger who might talk too fast Or ask me questions about myself Before I've decided that He can ask me questions about myself He might sit too close Or call the waiter by his first name Or eat Oreos But eat the cookie before the cream But what scares me the most What scares me the most Is what if when he sees me, what if he doesn't like it? What if he runs the other way and I can't hide from it? (Ah) What happens then? (Ah) If when he knows me, he's only disappointed? What if I give myself away, to only get it given back? (Ah) I couldn't live with that (how do you live with that?) So, I'm just fine, inside my shell-shaped mind This way I get the best view So that when he sees me, I want him too Dawn, don't you think you're being a little, I mean maybe just a tad I'm not defensive! I'm simply being cautious I can't risk reckless dating Due to my miscalculating While a certain suitor stands in line I've seen in movies Most made for television You cannot be too careful When it comes to sharing your life I could end up a miserable wife Sorry girls, but he could be criminal, some sort of psychopath Who escaped from an institution Somewhere where they don't have girls He could have masterminded some way to find me He could be colorblind How untrustworthy is that? He could be less than kind Or even worse he could be very nice, have lovely eyes And make me laugh, come out of hiding What do I do with that? Oh, god What if when he sees me I like him and he knows it? What if he opens up a door And I can't close it? (What if a door is opened?) What happens then? (What happens then?) If when he holds me (when) My heart is set in motion (he) I'm not prepared for that (holds) I'm scared of breaking open (me) But still I can't help from hoping (but I can't help) To find someone to talk to Who likes the way I am Someone who when he sees me Wants to again
Ayouba Swaray Right? Laura is incredible and that belt at the end is incredible! She gives this and more in every single performance. I’ve seen the show in London three times and she always makes me smile. Awesome performer with so much talent!

Everyone plays and sings Dawn differently. I love Colleen she is hilarious! I will always support Laura as she’s up and coming and I was thrilled for her when she got the role of Dawn she’s absolutely amazing! I’m also a big fan of Miranda soooo Yeah difference in role playing keeps Waitress live and exciting! Thank you so much for watching appreciate it!
Her version of Dawn is amazing... I prefer this way. I did not love the Dawn I saw in the tour... she was adorable but I like singers in musical theater even when doing a string character.
