I wasn’t around to witness this in real time. But, the thought of vanilla tf2 allowing heavy to chase me down at even just the speed of a pyro is honestly terrifyingly hilarious
@@TheFrantasticnah they are the single most easy kill in the game a gru heavy has to switch to a slow mini gun or a less lethal shotgun that is burst damage depending on how long it has rhe gru you can even one shot him
Some days ago I was playing MVM and I had the quite funny moment of GRU + concheror + speed upgrades allowing me to run after and reach a Super Scout robot
Considering how vulnerable Heavy would be to if forced into the GRU's health drain AND the extra damage taken from the Steak at the same time, I feel like stacking the Buffalo Steak and GRU's speed buffs could work fine in the current day, as well as giving the Steak a proper role outside of medieval mode.
@@tvna5404 And after that rollout, when the scouts arrive at the exact same time since they can still double jump to make up for that minimal speed advantage you're on 100 hp and your med can't get you higher than 150. 2-3 meatshots with med, 1-2 meatshots without, and you're a sitting duck if you wanna fight back.
@@MaximusChivusbefore jungle inferno (aka when this glitch was active) the gru didn't drain max hp but instead marked the user for death, making all damage minicrits
@MaxPower-qt3vw The Buffalo Steak Sandvich can be thrown at teammates to restore 50% health on a 25 second cooldown. The alt-fire, by far the best part of the Sandvich, is completely identical on the Buffalo Steak. If eating the steak actually did notably help the Heavy move out faster, then a hypothetical steak+GRU rollout would have effectively no downsides on a map large enough to accommodate it. The real reason this wouldn't be busted, is because the steak does not notably help the Heavy move out faster. Compare a current patch 299hu/s Heavy to a hypothetical 388hu/s Heavy if both stacked. The 299 speed Heavy would spend 20.3 seconds walking at 299 speed, and travel a total of 6,070 units. The 388 speed Heavy would spend 4.3 seconds not moving at all, then 16 seconds moving at 388 speed, travelling a total of 6,208 units. That's only 2% more distance in exchange for hard locking yourself to melee for 16 seconds, which is almost always going to be far too long, and even if you did want to have your melee out for 16 straight seconds and covering 6,200 units of ground you'd almost definitely not notice that 2% difference. Only 0.46 seconds worth of distance at 299 speed, which you could easily miss out on by just sub optimally switching to your steak or sub optimally eating it.
Seeing heavy be incredibly fast is so funny, especially how his animation is still somewhat slow so it makes him look goofy. I don't think i would be laughing if i encountered that tho XD
Health penalty from the gloves and damage vulnerability from the steak. it would honestly not be overpowered at all if the gloves and steak could stack again
Bring back the super-speed Heavy, obviously don’t make him as fast as Scout. I think it would be hilarious to see a Heavy moving around at the speed of sound punching everyone who gets in his way.
I mean he gets 1 shot by basically everything at 100 hp with damage vulnerability, might as well make him fast as a 4 head demo knight who is better in every way shape and form
Join a tf2 x10 server, equip dalokohs and GRU, switch to gloves and drain your health to 100 then switch to dalokohs, eat, heal up, switch to gloves. Boom you now move faster than a scout and untill you swap weapons, you have around 800 health
Brooo with the way they are now I think letting them stack would be fine. Like this combo is basically a death sentence for heavy right now, at least let my boy have the speed.
The problem with it is that it lets Heavy quickly go anywhere. Heavy’s weakness is that he’s terrible at repositioning and everyone can run from him or chase him down
@shadow50011 The other guy is right. While using the GRU, he'll be at 100 health, which removes his strength of being tanky. Also he'll be marked for death, which makes him more vulnerable and locked into melee combat.
@@shadow50011 I think the fact that you need to spend 4 seconds eating the steak followed by another 16 forcibly holding the GRU out, calling that explosive repositioning is a stretch. Sure, heavy can get to mid, but he will have to let the scouts defend him for 6 seconds.
@redstonewarrior0152 also, the fact the BSS doesn't heal removes a lot of his sustain because you're not running sandvich or banana. I say it's a fair trade. You get to be fast but you're vulnerable and your sustain is cut drastically.
6s has always been a dumb case to me. Rather than build a meta around how the game actually works, they just ban any item that threatens the intended meta they've created for themselves. "Uh oh, an item lets Heavy rollout to mid in time for the first teamfight? We can't let Heavy be viable in 6s! Ban that item!"
I say let them stack. Heavy can't switch from melee while under the effects of the steak. Plus his max health goes down when the GRU is out. Yes he'd be faster than scout, but weaker. Seems balanced to me
Boxing heavy needs SOMETHING to keep up with other classes. They give Demoknight speed, health, and resistances, while giving heavy... A slight speed boost and vulnerabilities???
it's pretty weird how they gave the strongest class in the game that can make it situationally even stronger at basically no downsides whatsoever, not to mention the fact you can totally switch the booties and shield when you already have 4 heads for pills and stickies and play an even stronger Demo while heavy has to be made even weaker while holding another weapon that makes him more vulnerable
@@tizianolocarno111 ok demoknight isn't "the strongest class in the game" he's a trade class, but demoman with 4 heads is indeed very stupid I agree. Idk man I just want boxing heavy to be... At least as good as Babyface Blaster scout in terms of usability. Is that an ok amount of strength to ask for?
@@guimon78 there's a reason why Demo is limited to only 1 in sixes, a good demo can pretty much counter every class except probably for a god scout or pyro really
On one hand, an Incredible fast fat man chasing me down with his fist readying to pummel me is both scary and hilarious, but on the other hand, he slowly losing health with his melee out, forced to have it out, plus an additional damage vulnerability, and taking in the fact that he may been have been injured, he’s probably be very weak. I say yes it should be brought back, I can see it being use as a risky rollout to mid, very funny, and something formidable but not downright unstoppable. (Unless a stock Uber) now that would be terrifying.
I am very much liking the idea of super speed heavy! Being a player who entered after jungle inferno, this may be one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. The two items do come at a huge cost of health drain and melee restriction, (technically also losing out on the sandvich) so I think it's honestly a lot closer to balanced than it would first appear. I'd suggest maybe the GRU or steak half-stacks, where it adds 15% when combing instead of the full 30% to be less absurdly fast.
Yes, since GRU lowers heavies HP to 100 (150 with overheal), and all the damage multipliers the enemy gamers get against you, the justice should be made
I’d honestly love to see the speeding meatball return, it seems really funny to have a heavy go faster than scout and with how the items work nowadays, it wouldn’t be broken too
Imagine this scenario. It's 2010. You're in your room and boot up a good old round of Team Fortress 2. You decide to take a good old crack at playing engineer on 2Fort. As you're in your intel room, setting up dispensers and teleporters you hear the titular sound of a heavy eating. You think nothing of it and start setting up a sentry. Out of nowhere, a group of 5 heavies wielding Crit boxing gloves suddenly runs at you from around the corner at a speed never seen before. Terror fills you as they get to you within seconds, quickly beating the stuffing out of you and destroying your buildings. Before you know it, all your buildings, all your work, has been for nothing. The heavies has your intel, and is in the process of taking it back to their base. You see chat messages going wild at the scene displayed, people in the voice chat are yelling curses over the whole thing. You sit and look at your PC thinking to yourself "what in the fuck just happened" as you slowly gather yourself to try again.
I'd love to see Heavy's melee build turn him into essentially a melee only super fast bear for bursts of time to give him a distinct style change from other classes
imagine, being in the sewers of 2fort, low health, playing medic. and then a buffalo steak and gloves of running urgently heavy comes barreling towards you at the speed of the scout. stuff of nightmares
When I think of super speed heavy I think of old PASS time days. If you were a deployed brass beast heavy with a scout carrying the jack, you would move at the scout’s speed. That is still a thing technically but only when you are not deployed.
A bit off topic to this video but who remembers the infinite health glitch with the gloves and dalokohs bar back in around 2016? 😂 That glitch was funny as heck. I was running around punching other players with the holiday punch and they could do nothing. Only spy backstabs would be able to kill me :D
You know how cool that would be, it could be a legit alternative to the sandvinch, in exchange for giving up your melee and secondary slot you could move to the point faster, just maybe cap the speed out
The Buffalo Steak's speed increase could've been made additive, like the Disciplinary Action's speed boost. A speed boost grants a flat +105 hammer units per second to the player's movement speed (unless it reaches the +40% movespeed cap). So the Steak's movespeed bonus could've been a flat +70hu/s, so it wouldn't stack multiplicatively with the GRU; the GRU + Steak would only grant a total move speed of 381.15hu/s
They looked at heavy, looked at his pick rate, looked at probably the coolest thing a heavy has been on record doing, and said “this can’t stand, we’re changing it”
They should definitely be allowed to stack again. Marked for Death Minicrits AND a health drain is a fair trade off for the speed increase. It would make the combo a great retreating tool.
You can ONLY MELEE while under the steak's effects, and with TODAYS DOWNSIDES of the steak and the GRU, good fucking luck buddy. Go 1000% faster it dont matter.
Others have noted it already, but the unique mixtures of vulnerabilities and health drain from New GRU. I think it'd be totally fine to allow fast heavy again.
I'd think It'd be fine! I mean, a 30% damage vulnerability, health drain, and only being able to punch people, are pretty massive downsides, and would get you killed more often than not, so it's more hilarious than useful. Best use would be rollouts, and it would be beautiful to see Scout and Heavy running side-by-side at comparable speeds and with a Demoknight trailing behind, the three gods of speed finally reunited!
They should let Heavy stack the effects. Anyone who is brave enough to inflict such a massive vulnerability on themselves should be rewarded by being allowed to chase down and punch anyone
