eurovision 2012 was unique, different, full of colors, really cool songs, winner was amazing, opening ceremony was breathtaking, Azerbaijan introduced all the beauty and the culture of country. crystal hall and the crystal stage was perfectly matching. i would be happy to see Baku hosting ESC again! Light your fire 🔥

Actually Eurovision 2012's big arena, logo and theme music was just COOL! I was really impressed.

I think Eurovision 2012 in Baku Azerbaijan always got me chill. Not only the winner loreen with her song Euphoria but the stage all amazing. 😘

The BBC saving everyone's ass. That's the reason why they are a Big 5 country. I'm glad this is no longer a problem for the hosting countries. Kudos to Ireland for holding on to it during the 90s, their last hosting show was very sweet.

Awww somehow lovely how the BBC helped Ireland, Monaco and Luxembourg out. Remember this costs all much money.

Switzerland won in 1956, but Germany hosted in 1957.

Imagine if Iceland won. That would be a logistical nightmare! (And the population would pretty much double.)

A great video for some ESC history, and for including several classic winners like *1971, 1973, 1978 & 1996* - all among my all-time favourites :)

"The 1980 contest was the last contest that was not hosted in the country that won the year before." This already became untrue with the Netherlands hosting in 2021 since it said the *year* before. But if this is taken to mean the previous contest, it might be untrue with 2023 because nobody even knows which country will host it in 2023.

I think the best evrevison was in the Baku .Because location of crystal hall very interesting and not only for the location everything was good opening ceremony and closing ceremony everything was perfect

It's lucky Ireland haven't won it recently as RTE have no money. They've had to sell part of their land off and it doesn't help that they pay some of their presenters outrageous salaries for a country with a small audience.

It's kind of something that some people sort of emphasize that "Ukraine beat the 'favorite' Russia in 2016." It's as if Russia was even in second place, and it's as if the actual second place, Australia, was not a favorite either. As if, in addition, that Ukraine was not among the top contenders of the trophy because Ukraine was. I mean, people can just generally say that Ukraine beat all the other favorites, instead of emphasizing on just one particular "non-winner" (or "loser" some people may actually pointedly say) to juxtapose with Ukraine.

I think Sweden and Finland stepped in in 2002 to help Estonia financially.
