@@versatilelord8893 that’s fair. i really liked his game too. Sad to see him decline , hopefully he has been putting work in the off season like he said he would to return to his former caliber.
And that was hardens only flaw. You can be a one man offence but once they find a way to stop you, your team is done and that’s a true fact for all great scorers
@@jonathanhighsmith9289 it’s still up to the player to buy in to the culture and system. That’s why I admire Miami heat as an organization and why jimmy butler finally found a good home. Their motto is it’s bigger than any single player and it’s about the team.
He was absolutely insane dur8ng his rocket days especially in this times. For those who don't know, Harden has the most 50 points+ triple double in NBA history.
He could not perform in the playoffs because teams are more responsible defensively come playoff time. Also, he's a huge liability on the defensive end, he gets targeted all the time on D.
@@badxgrass Nah that wasn’t the problem. It’s more of the fact the rockets offence depended too much on him and if he’s not in his grove, his team will also get worse all around
Westbrook was finding his game just before the covid shutdown. That small ball was slowly working for them. When it all resumed in the bubble, Harden was still hot but Russ was still recovering from covid.
@@abet317l.3 Mainly what happened was in the Lakers series Russ could not shoot at all. No mid range nothing they were trapping Harden and forcing anybody to make a play usually Russ (who is left wide open all the time) he couldn't swing to a Danuel House or anything either cause he was down too.
I wasn’t even a fan of the nba at the time and anytime I’d catch snippets of a rockets game on tv I’d be in awe. Dude was a beast. Hope he can still come back.
I think he wore himself out by time it came to the playoffs. He played all season to keep his team in a good seeding spot to give them a good chance but was more than likely burned out by then. And plus with playoff games being more crucial the game plan changes in most cases the game is slowed down.
coming from a warriors fan, the rockets definitely shouldve won that series for sure. They had a big lead in game 7 but missed 27 straight threes late in the game...how many times does that happen. not to mention CP was out in game 6 and 7. man what the media wouldve been like when the kd warriors lost
Lets just take a moment to admire how much work this man puts into his vids, it's not easy at al to make this videos and he comes out with a lot of vids in one day.
still my favorite player even if he hasn't been consistent these past 2 years, i hope he does well in philadelphia with joel embiid but only time will tell
@@irlshinigami4390 yeah, just not very consistent. hardens skill ceiling is up there with some of the greatest players but his lows are too low for him to be considered one of the greatest
@@thepoisonouspotato3631 scorer yes shooter he never was percentages don’t lie. Average from 3 average from 2 and he missed a lot of 3s that were called fouls that really were not fouls. He’s 3 has never been even close to elite
James harden is my favorite player of all time. It's a shame seeing him with no ring when he deserved it. His prime was during unfair teams in the NBA, Rockets having shit teammates, but Also him not being consistent with his art. The only chance we had was with Chris Paul at a ring but ofc he gets injured then harden has to carry but can't do it by himself. And the choke of the century with rockets vs warriors Playoff, if we would have won vs the warriors the Rockets would have had the chip. Shame to him now but he still has potential and a chance at a ring
yeah and outside of the WestBrook one, he had no business getting the other ones, plus averaging 35+ppg doesn't guarantee you no MVP. Also most people saying that never really watched Giannis 19 & 20 leading a team who didn't have that much talent to be b2B best record in the NBA
He may not be as effective like Curry or Allen at making 3s.. but must admit those 3s are really smooth. And the way ball goes in, wow, really satisfying
I feel like we could have had a championship team if we just had a few other good Defensive players in maybe more size inside think could have play harkinsten more in gave him more a chance to get mins in contribute think they gave up on him to soon
i think how the style of play changes in the playoffs affected his game. back in houston, during regular season games, harden could do whatever the hell he wanted and did all those isos and shit and took over with faster paced games but in the playoffs no way in hell can you pull that not to mention the game slows down a lot, when harden is a lot better in transition i feel and in more full court situations
houston james harden was crazy.averaging like 30+ games for like 5 years, mvp, multi scoring titles..it just always got forgotten because he had to go against the 3 headed or 4 headed or even 5 headed warriors like for 5 years in a row...but to me curry=best shooter kd=best scorer harden=best offensive player.real hoopers understand the meaning
He can be the Harden of Rockets or OKC in the regular season even in the upcoming season but it doesn't matter cuz he can't replicate that in the playoffs.
Bro if he stayd with Rockets one more year people dont realize but they could've been serious title threats with a big three of Wood Harden Westbrook and great depth.
In the game against Miami where he dropped "only" 29, the Heat were blowing the Rockets out the water, so Harden basically dropped 30 in 2 1/2 quarters. Crazy
