When Mega Evolutions Crowded Competitive Pokemon's Worst Tier 

Its so goofy to think about megas terrorizing NFEs down in PU, like a bunch of grown men beating up little kids at a playground.

I think its funny that Avalugg, despite ita terrible typing, is so ridicuosly minnaxed that it can take on OU mega pokemon.

On a similar note, hours after BDSP released, I got a screenshot of Ledian in OU before tiers had formed.

I knew that every pokemon starts in OU when introduced, but I had no idea megas started in the tier the Pokemon was originally in

The fact that Pokémon like MEGA FUCKING BEEDRILL was once in the PU tier is funny to me

I liked this length of video ik its not always feasible but this was the perfect size for fun facts but also to go into a little depth

As a note, there is difference between something moving up and getting banned: If a pokemon moves up a tier, it means it is common enough in that new tier, not necessarily that it was overpowered in the tier below it. On the other hand, a pokemon that is banned is overpowered in the tier, but not necessarily good enough for the tier above it. Functionally they are the same; you can only use it in the higher tier, but there is a distinction. Also a pokemon can be both banned from a tier and move up. For example, after Garbodor was banned from PU, it did move up to NU anyway. If Garbodor were to ever drop down again, it would never reach PU because it was banned already. Might make a video about this concept just to make it really clear, because I know i was confused about the difference between moving up and down and bans when i started playing, because functionally they're the same thing

The same situation happened in gen 8, when Arctozolt and Arctovish got their hidden abilities while they were still legal in NU. For the 8 days left before the next tier shift, those two + Sandslash completely and utterly dunked on the tier, so much so that they quickbanned Arctozolt as soon as it was allowed back into the tier again

Seeing Mega-Lopunny in PU is like that South Park episode where the preschool hockey team had to play against the Detroit Red Wings and get the living crap beaten out of them

Similarly, Mega Salamence, one of the best pokemon even in Ubers, was once in OU. It completely terrorized the tier while it was there.

My personak favorite tier of all time was when RU was ruled by Mega Shark, Mega Scept and Mega Pidg. Megas felt overpowering, but in a good way. Was sad when they got banned.

Mega Beedrill is by far my favourite mega evo. I used to always draft this mon in draft leagues and is still to this day on my Nat dex team and wrecks havoc everywhere.

Hey Freezai, thank you for your very interesting videos. If it ever comes down to it I would love to see a video explaining why Dragapult in banned in National Dex OU but not in Regular OU. It's something I never quite got the hang of it, but I would be very interested to learn about.

Video request: From what I can find, there is only one modern tier (Gen 3 or later) existence where there is only one Pokémon in its BL equivalent. That would be Sceptile, being the only Gen 6 NUBL Pokémon. I’ve wondered for a while what happened here to warrant only a single Pokémon ever being banned. Was it like a “Brawl Meta Knight” situation? Or was everything else just that much weaker?

gen 6 uu was possibly one of the best meta tiers smogon has ever had i remember for about it was a year to a year and a half Pidgeot mega, Victini, Mega Altaria and CB/CS DARM were all allowed and not banned for that long pidgeot was just so strong with stab hurricane that it could pivot in and out do damage with hurricane or heatwave and fast u turn out + RNJesus clearly loved the 10% confusion chance sm which was an important part of it eventual ban mega altaria was just a big bulky set up mon it was defensive as heck and had great typing with access to DD strong physical dragon moves + EQ or run a mixed attack set victini was the stable mon of the tier thing needed the eventual ban CB or CS sets could always 2hko and thay victory star accuracy bonus to all mons on team was super nuts UU in gen 6 was my favourite tier of all time it had so many hard hitters but so many defensive tanks or walls that it can be argued as one of the greatest tier metagames smogon has ever had (if u think differently then fine each to their own opinion)

Mega Beedrill was definitely not a UU staple, it was in the tier but was very hard to fit on teams, was walled easily, and was forced to use protect just to mega evolve, on top of hating the ever prominent scald spam

Could you upload a video covering why Wingull is banned in Gen 7 LC? It seems to have mediocre stats compared to Pokémon like Abra or Ponyta.

Something like that happened last gen with the DLCs with NFEs all starting untiered. We had 1-2 days of scyter and porygon2 destroying PU and ZU

Then there was that time where the newly released Contrary Serperior was still down in NU?, where the ONLY thing preventing a Serperior sweep was Sap Sipper Milktank. Another time where something EXTREMELY overpowered for the tier was added in a way that didn't alter the tiering.
