Just this morning I was listening to the main dutch radio station Radio 1 and this woman (dietician Wendy Walrabenstein) came on with her new 'research' claiming arthritis could be cured by eating plant based foods. This is a radio station where a lót of dutch people listen to, and my first reaction was 'oh nooo'. She was talking about how a 1980's study inspired her. Her own study had people quit there unhealthy diet and how better they felt afterwards, claiming it had to do with the fact they stopped eating meat because meat has an inflamatory effect. They left out the fact that they probably also quit sugar and seed oils. I googled her and she has absolutely no scientific background and has been vegan for a while, which proofs the biased opinion to me. She also talked about the 'blue zones' claiming people there ate a plant based diet. Its just not true! After I became Carnivore I started noticing how this Vegan trend is constantly promoted on the radio, television and supermarkets are going along with this dangerous trend, so called helping to "save the planet". Also éverytime some happens like a storm or a flood, they mention 'because of climate change'. We are brainwashed, this becomes too obvious.
Well the thing is that a lot of vegans dó experience benefits as well, but that’s probably because they ditched all the junkfood for whole foods. Nonetheless they miss plenty of good and essential macros and micros due to not eating animal products
I think the vegan health benefits are linked more to a type of fast where the body relies on stored minerals and nutrients in the bones for health. When those minerals are used up, it's tickets and I think that is what happened to me because I could only do 2 years on a vegan diet after about 20 years of a really bad SAD diet with lots of junk food. My health got bad enough in the first year for me to seek a doctor and they spent almost a year looking for the problems, then they wanted to operate and I switched to carnivore and within 2 weeks I saw improvements, within a month almost all of those problems were gone and after 5+ years I have no more health problems and have not been back to any doctor since I walked out of the specialist's office after the discussion about surgery 😀 🥩Eat Meat, Not Too Little, Mostly Fat🥩
My brain is so happy doing Carnivore. The rest of this 60 year old female frame totally agrees! When you feel better why go back to something that is hurting you? What is the sense or point? Humans are the top of the food chain and we are designed to live on this planet and have been provided nutrients needed in the form of Carnivore!!! Thank you! 🤗
I'm so happy that people are waking up to the lies we have been told, and realizing that meat is healing and healthy!! All the processed and ultra processed "foods" are making people sick and making doctors and big pharma rich! Thanks for sharing the TRUTH, and for ALL you have done to give me my life back at 71!! Love you, doc!! ❤🤗🤗🙏
Let's also encourage a healthy and wholesome life for the animals we eat. Pasture raised, humane treatment, and our gratitude for the nourishment they provide us.
My mom is 88 and she started showing signs of mild dementia 2 years ago. She has a hard time retaining anything short term and because of that she is getting weaker because she can never remember to exercise at all and she sits on the couch most of the day watching TV and I am constantly reminding her to get on the exercise bike for 20 min each day. So I am transitioning her to a Meat Based Keto diet because I hear that the low carb keto ( which I am on) or Carnivore diet can help stop and even in some cases correct dementia in some patients. Plus it would probably eliminate her hypertension medicine too.
I pray that you have success. I hope for you to find it in your heart to reach out to Dr Baker if she shows signs of improvement. Or let someone with a big platform know. Only If you want.
My mum is 84 and is just like your mum. But she's aggressive if I take bread or oranges away from her. She eats bread at every meal, even with natural yoghurt. She watches television all day. If I say let's go for a walk, she doesn't feel like it. I don't know how to manage this. I'm hoping for an improvement if I give her MCT oil, fish oil, magnesium and antifungals. These remedies have been shown in studies to improve cognitive abilities. Even if you can't get the patient to change their diet to keto or carnivore.
As someone who has seen many older adults' descent into dementia...I very much encourage your efforts. Our modern diet is killing our elderly. Growing old should be a time to look back on the life you have lived and share your wisdom with your children and grandchildren...not mentally and emotionally regressing.
I did vegan for health and weight loss and even did the recommended 50/50 plate that a lot of experts hawk-and I was exhausted, hungry and losing hair, but gained weight. They recommend anchoring half the plate with a type of starch and the other half with veggies. B vitamins come from nutritional yeast and the like, but (homemade) sauces and marinades were SO full of sugar. ..🤦♀️ low fat though! 😂 I think I made it six or eight months 😅 never again

There's no reason for any sane person to say no to meat, fish, eggs, animal fats, and eggs. If you want to add some veg to it every now and then, then so be it; that's a personal choice. But if you want to keep your body and mind free from autoimmune and metabolic disease and better still thrive for decades, then a carnivore or heavy meat diet is your best option by far.
There are people reversing Alzheimer's by eating animal based diets. I think this is a miracle. I just saw an interview with an older lady reversing Parkinson's! My grandma died of Parkinson's. I still think eating vegetables are delicious, but since I started eating high fat, high animal protein, low carb I'm off clonazepam (an addictive benzodiazepine) as well as thousands of dollars worth of supplements a year to sleep at night! OMG! It turns out that taking in saturated fats and animal protein and lowering your carbs can act like medicine. I still think we should plant trees everywhere, make more parks, support organic farming, etc.
Just recently someone tried convincing me going vegan was healthy and humans aren't predators, I countered their argument by stating if humans aren't predators why are our eyes forward facing like a predator their response was pure silence and a confused look on their face. I'm never quiting carnivore it's healing mu body better than anything ever has in the past.
Why can we outrun all antelope animals, we can run them down to exhaustion and take them. We don't need sharp teeth and nails to kill animals, we use our mouth for communication which is much more important when we had tools. Why is our stomach acid as acidic as the scavengers, probably to kill bacteria on the carrion meat we used to eat. Why are there so many organs devoted to breaking down fat/protein (stomach acid, Bile from the gall bladder, enzymes from the pancreas). Why don't we have a cecum like all the herbivores to process plant fiber. I tried the vegan diet years ago when the China study came out…I lasted 2 whole weeks lol and found myself drooling over my husband’s steak and I ditched the diet
I like the shirt. I like bison steaks. Most vegans tend to have a B12 and or a Vitamin D deficiency. b12 is serotonin in the brain which controls mood etc. vegans tend to not get these vitamins that are needed and become tired and depressed and it causes issues in their lives without a supplement
I absolutely agree! My one year carniversary is February 1, and at 61 I feel better than I did in my 30s. Thank you for making carnivore known, it is only through the online community that I heard about it and started.
I had a friend who went vegan for a period of time, because she thought it would make her healthier. Well, contrary to making her healthier, she ended up in the ER because she had to have a blood transfusion because she had become so anemic. Obviously she didn't know about the supplements she needed to take if she was going to go vegan, but I personally still don't think the vegan diet is the right way to go. If anything I believe moreso in the carnivore type diets.
Last year (2023), Russian raw vegan social media influencer, Zhanna “D'Art” Samsonova, died of malnutrition at the age of 39. I’d venture to say that never in the history of humankind has someone died from malnutrition due to eating a meat-based diet. 🦁🥩💪 I was a raw vegan for two years, and when I started to become emaciated and thin, and when my teeth started to hurt, I finally figured out that I need animal protein. One bowl of ice cream, and my teeth didn’t hurt anymore, and that was the end of my raw vegan journey.

Thank you Dr Baker... I totally agree.. 😊 👍 Another way to frame this is that for humans, the Long-Term Elimination of ALL ANIMAL Based foods is Both Unnecessary and UNHEALTHY. I had to quit full carnivore as I found that I was having issues that I immediately solved with a couple of pieces of fruit (long story short) so I realised that I personally need more than just meat to thrive. I still mostly eat red meat though but introduced limited fruit but still no vegetables
Me too, being a slim person, I lost too much weight. I added 3/4 cup of white sucrose sugar. Gained back all what I lost and more, no gut and feel great. I used the sugar because what I read about the rice and sugar cure. I'm on an 80% carnivore plan. I drink a qt. of raw mike a day as chocolate milk or eggnog. That is what I add the sugar to. Plus 6 raw eggs in the chocolate milk
Raw eggs in chocolate milk is a terrible, disgusting idea, as well as the sugar. What the fuck are you thinking? Do you even have tastebuds? This is coming from someone who eats 3 raw eggs daily, only not in fucking chocolate milk. Bleh.

I don’t get the carnivore hype. The main benefits are weight loss and insulin sensitization, which you can jut as easily get from low-carb, or a very small part of the population who have food sensitivities and avoid everything except for meat instead of trying to figure out the root cause and correct it
I tried vegan and felt my blood sugar surge after meals, but other than that, I was in a zombie like state of exhaustion and low energy. I got so sluggish that I almost crawled to a restaurant and ordered a steak salad as fast as they could make it. I scarfed it down and within 1 hour my energy was back. I know for a fact I am not meant to be a vegan.
Lately I mostly only eat Picanha or what we call rump in Australia, our whole rump with the cap on is the same cut called Picanha over the other side of the pond. It's by far my favourite tasting cut has lots of fat and it's also pretty much the cheapest meat I can find so it works out great. Today I ate about 2-3 pounds of steak cut thick with a sear but about as blue as you can get. My issues with carnivore are unless I eat raw beef I never feel satisfied after eating but I rarely eat completely raw because I don't trust this cheaper meat enough to eat it raw, I only feel safe to eat meat raw when I'm confident of the source and confident of how fresh it is. And I never feel as good or have as much energy as on a diet that is meat based but also includes plant food. The problem is I just don't have enough time to prepare and cook the foods I respond best to at the moment. The best thing about carnivore however is how simple and quick it is to prepare my meals. The other not so great thing is the cravings I have on carnivore. I'll most likely go back to including plant foods again later in the year when I have more time but the reality is I don't care to be completely strict on any diet. When I go to Italy for example I'm going to eat pastries and Margarita pizza and there are certain places where I know I will indulge a little in Australia later on this year. I can't imagine a life where I never again enjoy amazing tasting foods, a life without that joy would kill me quicker than the occasional indulgence IMO.
I started on 2024-01-01 and I'm hooked! Why didn't I do this sooner!? Thanks for the great content and all of the information about eating delicious meat!
I quit the carnivore diet yesterday after 6 months. Don't feel good on strict carnivore diet, didn't help my health at all. I'll be adding back in fruits while still keeping mostly animal based.
The ketosis from four months on carnivore was too hard on my adrenals - started mimicking perimenopause (adrenal fatigue can do that) and I had to get on BHRT progesterone, which, I have been able to be off of the last month, after nearly a year and a half of a rather high dose. However, that is not to say I didn’t learn how beneficial beef is, to my health and well-being - and have, now, made sure that I base the vast majority of my meals around consuming beef. Ironically, I grew up with a mother who is a former butcher/meat-cutter. I even use to go to butchery school, with her, when I was a toddler (she was a single mother, and they wanted more women to pursue this career - so, she went for free). One of my first memories was seeing a cow diagram and all it’s meat cuts on their chalk board. Though, her and her husband absolutely sucked at cooking beef - so, I was never inclined to make it as part of my diet. Now, I much prefer the way I cook my beef - rather than going out, any day. In fact, I am spending today grilling up a few tri-tips, that I can slice and refrigerate/freeze - for SUPER easy meal prep, being cold meat is easier for me to consume, and less heavy on my almost non-existent stomach. I tenderize it, coat the fat-cap side in lard and/or tallow (because it’s cleaner fat, as I can’t get grass-fed beef, and Costco tends to remove the fat cap). Then, I coat it in cherrywood smoked Redmond’s real salt, as well as their regular salt, and a bit of pepper - then, grill it with the fat cap up, first, so the fat melts into the meat. Which, causes the fire to flare up, from the grill - giving it that nice, charred, crispy exterior. I don’t even have to use a thermometer - it turns out perfect, every damned time. I grill some small peppers, and onions, also (this time I did brussel sprouts, too - being they are “liver health.” They have me gas and probably won’t be a staple, lol).. Garlic, also. That way, I can use the peppers, onions, and garlic on things, like, eggs or an arugula salad, with walnuts and feta cheese - with an apple cider vinegar, lemon, Moroccan olive oil dressing; which, I add some horseradish mustard, turmeric, nutritional yeast, and a mix of dried spices I make. This helps aid in digestion - being I have had the majority of my stomach removed from what was suppose to be a corrective second bariatric surgery that went completely haywire, because I couldn’t heal due to undiagnosed hormonal issues (Cushing’s Syndrome - life-long excessive exposure to cortisol; which, was why ketosis was too hard, on me, and I required progesterone replacement. Doc’s didn’t figure it out - I did. And, now, my life-long hormonal belly is FINALLY going away, even after losing near 150lbs, from my first bariatric surgery, and it staying). I do still eat bread, as it’s soooo good grilled - though, I do my best to make sure it’s a high quality sourdough. It not, I still make sure it’s a high quality bread - usually, from a local bakery. I am working on cutting out the sweets - especially, because of liver and kidney issues. It’s a process, lol. However, I do much prefer local fruit - such as peaches, cherries, pears, raspberries, and blueberries. I’ll eat the raspberries and blueberries Year around, and the rest seasonal. Though, also, milk thistle, dandelion root, and apple cider and stevia tea has been helpful in my liver not feeling so heavy. Very helpful. Sometimes, I make “black strap tea,” by adding black strap molasses, because I am anemic, and being I am missing most of my stomach - it’s an easier way to absorb iron, especially, with the Vit. C. In the lemon and ACV. And thankfully, the progesterone helped heal the mast cell issues, I had - which, caused me to go carnivore, in the first place. I couldn’t even drink regular tea with ACV without a constant runny nose, headache and edema in my ankles. I think I might be a bit allergic to the milk thistle, however - so, I am cutting back. My BFF was vegan with eggs, for 17 years and developed Hashimoto’s. She was my CNA, when I had the surgery to fix the horrific fistula, I had, that wouldn’t heal for years - after when I needed a JP drain, when my stomach got an infection, after surgery. I was one floor below ICU, and she knew how sick I was. Between my success with increasing my beef-consumption, as well as her doctor’s guidance - she FINALLY is eating meat. And she says it gives her WAY more energy. Gee, go figure.
I did the January carnivore thing and lost a lot of weight and felt good, but my BP went way up, from about 130/85 to around 170/98 at one point. Starting a couple of days ago I started adding some berries, some garlic with my steaks, and a shot or two of beet juice to try and control my blood pressure.
When I was having severe eczema, from a then unknown reason, my acupuncturist instructed me to eat all the fruits and vegetables I wanted, eliminate processed sugar from my diet, and stop drinking alcohol. I did drop quite a bit of weight. My complexion looked better. On my own I transitioned to a vegan diet from there. But after several months, I felt like my appearance really suffered. I was also experiencing hair loss. So I gradually reintroduced meat ito my diet. But the chemical patch test that had been performed on me showed that not only am I seriously allergic to a substance in hair diet called PPD, but also to numerous other substances. One of them is found in over 25,000 plants! I had a minor flare up of my eczema this past year. So I am now trying a mostly carnivore diet. I am 68 years old, with Hashimoto’s Disease, but otherwise in fairly good health. I am curious to see how doing mostly carnivore will affect me.

One day at work many years ago before the current health crazes started I worked at a company in CA. My boss was a little shorter than me by about 4" and he was in the gym quite a bit. I'm 6'1" and at that time about 215. I didn't lift but I was just solid from spending a lot of my time on my grandparents' farm when I was a kid and it never went away after I left. We had two other guys that worked in our company. One was a linebacker at Iowa and the other was a D-lineman at Michigan State. One day it happened that all three of us were lined up next to each other talking to my boss who was standing across from us. All of a sudden he looked up at us and made a comment about our sizes (I was the smallest). He asked us where we were from which was Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan, respectively. Then he asked what the f*** were they feeding us in the Midwest and in unison we all said, "beef". After that, every so often the lineman would go past him, tussle his hair and say, "Hey there, little fella!" And sometimes when I walked past him I could barely hear him say, "F*****' Midwest". 😎
It’s not. Carnivore is severely deficient in certain nutrients which is suboptimal. Even the often referred to inuit eat berries and roots in the appropriate seasons if they get the chance
@@Ruktiet look at how many vitamins, nutrients are in red meat it's a long list especially steak you can eat red meat only and have all the nutrients you need some people need more carbs because some experience energy level problems when working out, or are always moving without some carbs, and some are completely fine regardless of their lifestyle so it's more of a "do I need more carbs for my lifestyle" type of thing, than a nutrients thing
Dude I know what nutrients are in meat, and I know it contains almost no magnesium, copper, folate, boron, choline and several other nutrients. Sure, muscle meat has a little bit of these nutrients, but there are better sources, like egg yolks, like organs, like fruits, like roots, like coconut water. Thus, only eating meat is suboptimal.@@KingAdjust
Thanks for your statement that if carnivore doesn't work, try something else. I read and watched and learned and decided to try carnivore to attempt to heal my GERD, thyroid and autoimmune disease. It made me very sick by making my GERD much worse. I started spitting up a dark brown mucus in the mornings, and this morning, I realized that was dried blood when I saw red blood in the sputum. I also have been taking much more reflux medicine. I had to quit so I could heal. But I'm not giving up yet. I'll go to low carb (fewer than 100 carbs a day) and eat mostly fish and seafood. It wasn't really the fat, it was too much fat. Also, I had no appetite and was getting weak from being underfed. It's not for me, but I still like the principal of it, so I'll try it just with healthy fats and see what happens.
I do keto and carnivore and don’t get into arguments with people. I have a vegan friend who’s recently lamenting exhaustion symptoms and was found very low in iron and olive acid and the B vit complex. She never even supplemented those. She’s 36 and many young people are so convinced about being vegan because they feel bad symptoms late in life. I also met a guy who had very lean muscle and said he is sharp and energetic, he also had good skin. So as long as the body is young it will try to adapt and accommodate the deficiency. Then, all of a sudden it crashes.
When these formally vegan businesses reintroduce meat it's important to support them in that decision. Go there, order the meat, ask if they have a carnivore plate, encourage to serve more meat.
I corrected too many health problems to go back easily. I do have the odd sugar binge every now and then but the longer I am carnivore and the more binges I pull through I am better able to plan them and better able to stop after a few days. These just prove to me how addictive carbs are.
I don’t get why though. I eat plenty of carbs and I’m lean as fuck. Key is to fast every once in a while, that’ll help you control your apetite and cravings. Although this is only relevant if you don’t have specific health issues going on@@Meathead-10810

I quit when I ended up in the hospital 😭 I loved it and was strictly carnivore for a year, I miss it, but it is what it is .. maybe when I heal I can go back to it
Started carnivore 2 months today. Lost 10 kilos, full of energy (was chronically fatigued before), mental clarity heaps better, joint pain reduced, my activity through the day is increased twofold. I eat fatty beef, mutton/lamb, fish, eggs and bacon, tons of butter. I have cheese as a small treat.I also dropped alcohol completely. The alcohol was a problem last time I did carnivore. I don't want to ever go back to that lifestyle, I feel too good. I was addicted to carbs and alcohol. It was very bad how I felt, I know that now. The first month was a bit rough with fatigue and mild headaches but I pushed through and must be fat adapted now. I would recommend carnivore to anyone wishing to heal themselves. It truly is amazing.
If someone can thrive on a vegan diet then kudos to them. Every vegan I personally know is sickly and constantly trying to exercise the carbs away. Carnivore has been such a freeing way of eating. I’m never hungry and it significantly improved my mental and emotional health. Hopefully more people give it a try.

@@RuktietHowever, omnivore does not mean that the quantities have been distributed equally: plants were only supplemented in tiny doses. Apart from that, all the vegetables never existed, they were all created by humans. And all diseases exist only since grain is eaten and cultivated
@@RuktietMaybe you didn't pay attention. The stable isotope, comparative anatomy, and evolutionary evidence says otherwise. We are at minimum hypercarnivores, and during the recent Ice Age, we were entirely carnivorous.

4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. I Timothy 4:1-5 You are not far off
You'll stay lefty until they take your meat away, huh? This reminds me of the German who said: When they came for the Jews I remained silent because I wasn't one. When they came for the gypsies I didn't say anything. When they got around to coming for me there was nobody to help me that was left. @@richardlusk2160
The carnivore diet is great but I have to stop due to hyper filtration of the kidneys and increased urine production. I've had surgery to correct UPJ obstruction but my kidneys still drain slower than normal. I'm so disappointed because in just two weeks I had great improvement in sleep, I quit coffee and cannabis, food cravings disappeared. Now after just enough potato to raise out of ketosis, my hormones are whacked, have restless legs, insomnia. It's nuts.
Carnivore is not working for me. Almost 11 months and and worse off then when I started. My diet is mostly beef and eggs. I do bacon, it is beef bacon but limit it because it is cured with some sugar. I went this way for pain management but am closer to a nursing home than my five mile walks I used to do. I do drink coffee with butter and did try not doing that but seen no difference.
Egg whites can be a problem as can low quality grain fed beef. Your Food has to eat well, too, or it can make you sick. Also, FRESH meat and eggs! Like as close to when the egg was laid and the meat was killed and bled as possible. Keeping food and especially leftovers in the fridge is bad, too. Fridges are histamine growth boxes. Get your food into a freezer as soon as possible. Maybe these ideas can help?
Been eating carnivore for a week and I literally have to force myself to eat, can easily got a day without eating without that low blood sugar feeling or crazy hunger pangs
"Carnivore' is not a 'diet', certainly not a 'diet plan' as the word is applied today. Diet by true meaning comes from Latin diaeta and Greek diaita, "way of life".
This white chocolate bar I'm looking at doesn't contain seed oils but has sunflower lecithin is this bad? This was the only ingredient I questioned I wanted to start having some white chocolate once a week because it doesn't contain plant toxins, oxalates, seed oils like dark chocolate, and it has 11 grams of added sugar a serving which I don't mind if it's once a week
I tried just a little bit of dark sugar free chocolate. For me it’s a disaster. Appetite went way up and the weight came up at least a pound or so a day. It’s nuts
@@user-sp1gw8gz3o yeah the darker the chocolate the more heavy metals, oxalates, and plant toxins, pesticides are probably a problem too, white chocolate has none of these problems besides more added sugar which in moderation should be fine, it can be hard to find white chocolate with no soy lecithins, or vegetable, palm oils but I have found some unfortunately I don't know if sunflower lecithin is bad, I've heard it's healthy, and is better than soy lecithins but I haven't researched enough to know if that's true
That sweet taste is a slippery slope. You will be looking forward to that cheat day and then it will be 2 cheat days, allowance days. Unless you are real good at moderating. Most people are not. It is not the 11grams it is the sweet taste that tricks the brain. All the best.
When should you quit carnivore??? Easy! When pigs fly!!! Pork over forks!!! Or, maybe, when the cows DONT come home? Eat meat , then butter , then cheese, repeat as needed!
I lost so much weight on the carnivore diet, I decided to see what if it would work on my cat. I stopped giving her dry food and she’s a lot leaner now. Now, if only I could convince my family so easily. 😅
Two months to cure diabetes. That’s unbelievable Good for you. My mother in law is diabetic but I don’t think k I could convince her to try carnivore maybe your story will help
Dr. Baker, I saw Beth's video today where she mentioned that she had seen your video about her decision to quit carnivore. She said that the two of you might want to get together and do a question answer on her channel. I think that would be interesting. She also asks if there was another doctor who was carnivore that would be willing to come on her channel. I suggested Dr. Ken Berry.
Has anyone had any success in shrinking their prostate on this diet? I love steaks etc. but at 64 my prostate is swelling. Some researchers say that it is the estrogen mimicking red meat. I also have HHT so I need heme iron to keep from getting anemic. I take all the prostate supplements also.
Great videos doc. Keep up the great work. I’ve been on the carnivore diet since August 2023 and regularly exercise, but recently have started to get wider in the waist. What can I do to get a leaner waist? On a positive note, I am gaining more muscle though. I’m not looking to bulk up, just loose the fat and gain lean muscle.
