I'm going to tell you something that might sound some what shocking, but the events did in fact happen. And that is cannibalism during civil war and the great depression. Quote: "The Great Depression was one of the darkest periods in American history. Millions of people lost their jobs, their homes, and their savings. Desperate times often lead to desperate measures, and there are many stories of people resorting to cannibalism during the Great Depression. While it is impossible to know for sure how many people resorted to cannibalism, there are certainly many stories of people eating their own children or other family members". In some cases, people were so desperate that they would kill and eat strangers. While cannibalism is certainly a horrific act, it is important to remember that the Great Depression was an incredibly difficult time for many people. Desperate measures were often necessary in order to survive. Same during the Russian civil war. Many turned to cannibalism, even selling body parts for other sources of food, as they did not want to eat their own children. Cannibalism during "The Great Famine" in 1845 where a third of Irelands population were wiped out due to starvation. Now I know you have lived a long and prosperous life so chances of you experiencing such crisis are slim. But it's not a matter of "if" it will happen again, but "when" it will happen again. History does tend to repeat itself. It's human nature to feel comfortable within our society knowing we have access to food at the push of a button, but history has shown that things CAN happen, and that a global economic collapse can and will put us into survival mode which is why people need to be weary. We can enjoy our food now, but soon will come a time where our "cravings" will really put us to the test. God be with us when that happens 🙏

A few years ago, I was borderline diabetic and I asked my doctor to give me a diet to help bring down my A1C. She told me, I could do that, but what you really need to do is quit eating out and cook whole foods at home and leave the processed foods alone. She said if it comes in a box it's processed. Just go to the store and buy raw meats, vegetables and fruits and cook your meals with that. I did what I was told, I lost about 8 lbs, but I wasn't obese before, and after about 6 months I went back to the doctor for my blood tests and I was no longer within the pre-diabetic range.

My maternal grandmother’s family was apart of a long term study in Roseto, PA in the 60s where they looked at why heart disease was so low in the area. A quick google search about the Roseto Effect will tell you that it has to do with family ties and being close to your family (which I do agree with), but having read through the original article and talking to my grandmother about it, the fact that they ate homemade pretty much everything is always left out of google’s answers. Homemade pasta, homemade sauce, homemade wine, self raised chickens and locally farmed hogs and cattle. There were little to no preservatives in their diet and it showed in their heart and overall health.

I think the homemade flour was the key. Think of someone that sells flour like they're a cocaine seller. If they have a pound of cocaine and add a pound of something cheap to it, they now have two pounds of what they're calling cocaine that they can sell, which means more money. I think the flour on the store shelf is like that cocaine. Part flour, part something really cheap that nobody would buy by itself.

Our diet has always been primarily plant based, just like bears. High saturated fats coupled with high cholesterol are not healthy. You need low saturated fats with high cholesterol and polyunsaturated fats, such as fatty fish and shrimp. Omega-3 ALA, DHA, and EPA fatty acids are what we need. As well as Omega-9 (real olive oil). I've lived with boarderline insomnia and GERD most of my life, and thought it was just kinda how it would be because a lot of my family has the same issues, but then I went on the carnivore diet and within three weeks I quit snoring and slept a full night for the first time in 15 years. After a month I had lost nearly 30 pounds. My GERD disappeared and I could lay flat at night. I felt amazing, then the holidays rolled around and I cheated and started eating carbs again. The last few months have been hell. It's all came back, and confirmed that the weight loss wasn't what was helping my issues. It's the diet. The carnivore diet really does fix things, and I'm currently getting back on it. It takes a few weeks to get back into it, but I can't handle going back to how I used to feel.

It’s a good reminder the vast majority of normal GERD (which affects a huge portion of the population) is a mechanical issue of the opening of the stomach. Once you’re obese you’re going to have a weakened diaphragm muscle, bad posture, constant opening or poor closing of the stomach. The basic biology is that the diaphragm muscle controls the top of your stomach opening. Bad design by nature :p

I would like to get it out there how dangerous aspartame can be to some people. My late husband had episodes of such intense rage and total lack of self control . I noticed almost by accident that it happened every time he drank diet soda, then read a bit in the news aspartame can cause mood swings. His wasn't mood swings, it was far more intense, ripping clothes up, smashing things, even his face changed in appearance. He was so happy with this news that it wasn't a defect in him, it was a physical reaction he could now avoid. He could now determine it just wasn't diet soda but McDonalds hamburgers and processed meat as well. I stopped buying all this processed food, fast forward 15 years and my daughter calls me crying from University she thinks she is losing her mind, told me she ripped up her sweater in a rage. Had a flash back and told her you are not going crazy, you are having a reaction to aspartame. I know there are many undiagnosed people out there with this condition. I wonder what else is it doing to our brains

Sounds like he may have a case of phenylketonuria. On the back of a diet coke, it'll say people sensitive to phenylketonurics (aspartame is one) should not consume it. Google the symptoms of phenylketonuria, and temper tantrums/ rage is one of the top ones.

The biggest issues, no matter how good you balance your plant-based diet are b12, iodine, selenium, omega 3, the rest are sometimes and maybe’s. Especially iodine. I was so deadly sick as a type 1 diabetic with hormone issues and a severe histamine intolerance that was killing me. I was puking 24/7 sleeping for only 20 mins every 3 days, blood pressure dropping, not absorbing nutrients so blood sugar was dropping to 20 sometimes even 15 or 10 .. I had an ambulance at my house 2-3 times a week finding me ice cold & unresponsive on the floor. I was starving to death. No doctor would help me figure out what was wrong. My trauma therapist saved my life thanks to the work of this man, dr Ken berry, & Dr Georgia Ede. In a matter of a few weeks on a grass fed meat diet my life drastically changed. I was keeping food in. I was sleeping. I started healing my gut (which healed fast on the carnivore diet) my blood sugars started to stabilize.. when I’m in ketosis and fat adapted my blood sugars no longer effect me like they did on a carb diet.. if I drop to 60 I’m totally functioning talking and thinking.. even at 50 I can fully function… My complex ptsd symptoms drastically improved before I started auditory bilateral simulation emdr. My memory started working again. Life changing !!

@@justinmclaughlin1953 Yes I eat eggs.3-4 every morning, sometimes with 2-3 stripes of bacon.(just plain bacon,no maple flavor, you always have to check)Some days I will have 1 cup of coffee with about a tbsp of butter.I never really get hungry for rest of day.For supper I either have a steak(if I find them on sale) or I will have cooked hamburger with an egg scrambled in,and parmasian cheese sprinkled on top.I make my own bone broth and drink maybe a cup, every several days.I also eat liver 2×week,instead of the steak or hamburger.I also eat chicken, and fish(wild only) which is hard to find.I have found that pork is no longer palatable for me anyway.I know it sounds really bland but really I don't miss any of the other food, and am quite satisfied.I do have plain pork rinds on hand if I really feel like a snack, and will dip them in cream cheese.I also grind the pork rinds for a coating on the liver. All in All I actually find it cheaper, and much less fuss,And I was a pretty good cook all my life and enjoyed it.But now I eat to live as opposed to living to eat.I have taken up walking because of the extra energy and walk 3-4 miles a day.I started this figuring I would do it for 3 months,I'm going into 5th month and no,I will never go back.Check out Dr Ken Berry's utube channel,he also has lots of info.

I do the 30-day carnivore diet two to three times a year, and have done so for almost a decade now. When I'm not in a carnivore phase, I eat real foods and only real foods (basically paleo, but I don't call it that). Here's the bottom line: Eat a mix of whatever you want, but always live by this one rule: If there's an ingredients list, don't buy it and don't eat it. This keeps me out of most restaurants (dinner salads are the best way to go if you're forced), but aside from that, it's easy once you get used to it. No bread, no pasta, no desserts, no chips, no sodas, no cereals, no frozen anything.... just real food. When I get a salty snack craving, I eat bacon or jerky... when I get a sugar craving, I eat fresh fruit. Done... it's a simple lifestyle, but only if you make it a permanent one.

My current weight is 210 and still dropping My A1C went from 5.7-5.2 My psoriasis cleared up the first month My BP is averaging 110/68 now All my blood work is normal except my lipid My ldl went up to 232. @@jgeph2.4 I'm at a Top 10 medical school in the country and that doesn't surprise me. Most people would be surprised to learn that their doctors just learn everything from PowerPoint slides handed down generation to generation, not even bothering to get into the studies that proved those facts. We also almost never mentioned nutrition other than confirming that being obese is detrimental. I have Wegener's Granulomatosis (Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis) and I've tried carnivore for over a month. Other than the diarrhea, it might be the best I've ever felt and the most muscle I've ever packed on in a period of time. Unfortunately it's unsustainable for me in my current circumstances, but if my disease ever flares up again, it's straight back to fasting and carnivore diet again 100%.

@@CAM-hc8ipyour patients are going to be lucky with a doctor like you. I have a good doctor now, but one thing I have never understood is why doctors in general don’t tell their patients other than cutting down on processed foods, go out and find a diet that works for you and makes you feel better. They literally give you the food chart and tell you to follow that. When it’s clearly not a one size fits all model.

Back in the 90's I needed to loose a lot of weight. I went on the Atkins Diet, and lost the weight very quickly. I have to say that once I got over the initial carb withdrawals, I felt great. It's easy to follow, you never feel hungry between meals, it's surprising the small portion sizes that will satisfy you and you stop eating many processed foods. I never tried Carnivor, but I would imagine it is similar.

Before all the Keto and carnivore diets I found that the Atkins diet was the only diet that worked for me. Going vegetarian and exercising didn't do anything. Counting calories didn't do anything. Eating less than 20grams of carbs per day is the only thing that has allowed me to lose weight. That and fasting.

I am a 5 month carnivore lion dieter. In that time, I saw a Dr and got blood work done in the beginning and 1 month ago. I lost 81 lbs, doubled my testosterone (also reversedto nothing gynecomastia), lowered my BP to 100/70, released and properly positioned my right sciatic nerve and rebuilt a 15 year dead hip to ankle right leg. I reversed type 2 diabetes to normal. I was manic depressive bipolar and now I have never had a down day or a manic one since 2 weeks in. I got rid of all but one patch of plaque psoriasis, which I had everywhere. Got rid of GERD, snoring, and sleep apnea. My skin looks so damn good, and I wake up with wood every day ( a sign of healthy cardiovascular and hormonal health). I feel I have de-aged 30 years. I am 53. Fatty ruminant meat and liver is the way for me, and now it always will be because I feel fregin amazing and crave nothing else. It's a minimalist dream as well. It's quick, easy, and cheap. Those bidet attachments, even the really cheap ones are awesome! Especially if they are connected to hot & cold water and have temperature regulation! A Wl comfortably warm water stream can be ask amazing solution for even severe constipation as it both relaxes the sphincter and begins to break up even write compacted waste. It is also very good to follow up a BM with a little enema/stream in order to evacuate the last little bit that generally ends up remaining there until the next movement, which is not healthy and has been limited to colon and prostate issues.

I had a problem with farting all the time and while looking in to it it was becouse of this thing called SIBO where you have microbes in the wrong place and to get wride of it you have to cut fiber to kill the microbes so I went carnivore. Not only did my farting stopped completely I have had bad acne my entire youth and I havent had a single pimble after I started eating like this. I wake up feeling well rested and getting up from bed is effortles. But the biggest suprise was what it did to me mentally. I have had problem with depression and anxiety that went away allmost completely and I also have pretty bad ADHD and eating like this has made me super calm and increased my ability to focus greatly. I was eating ”healthy” before this stuff like oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, meats, rice, pasta, protein shakes stuff like that and exercising everyday but the wellbeing I feel on this diet is on a whole nother level. So if you have any of these issues give it a shot I really beleive a lot of you might be as suprised as I was. Try it for a month what do you have to lose? Really made me question how much these people care about your health and how much they care about the money you will give them from these heatlh issues.

Mostly healthy I would think. One of the isles, a lady rolls past me and her about 14 year old. One shopping buggy each. Filled to the brim with: instant soups, sodas, beer, cereals, oreos, cookies, crackers, pudding cups, instant dinners, chips, etc. Did not see one thing in there NOT processed and full of additives, chemicals and garbage. Highly paliative foods. All of it. How can anyone fuel their body like this is beyond me.

As I've aged, physical activity levels have declined and my weight has drastically increased I've tried a couple of different diet routines, including whole food vegetarian diets where I'd try to eat more greens, veggies, paired with rice and eggs. The vegetarian diet maintained my weight; I gained nothing but lost nothing. So a few months ago I did a stretch of just nothing but tuna, lean chicken, eggs, and steak. Two meals a day, ate until I was feeling full. Felt like a champ. Dropped 20 lbs like it was cool. My energy levels haven't been like that since I was in my 20's.
