Fun Fact: In 1922 the man who created Insulin, Frederick Banting , said outright that he wanted it to be free because paying for medicine is bad and everyone deserves to live and be healthy. He sold the Patent for just $1 because again, he wanted everyone who needed it to have access to it. Now, it costs near $60-$100 for an Insulin fill
It's the pitfalls of capitalist society. I understand the kindness of it, but in reality, it doesn't work that way. You make money in order to live in general, yes medicine should be given out for free everyone has a right to a healthy life, but imo that's on you (if you have no conditions obviously etc.) You should be exercising eating right etc. I am not thinking like a capitalist. At the end of the day for most not all comes down to you.
@sumomaster5585 It was Frederick Banning that created insulin and there are so many reasons why insulin is expensive. For one, the three pharmaceutical companies that produce most, if not all of the US supply for insulin will create minor newer synthetic versions of each other and patent them. Since there is only 3 companies producing everything that means they have complete market control over the pricing of insulin along with the fact that third party pharmacy managers will negotiate for higher prices because it will mean higher profits. Couple that with loose government regulations and you get what we had experienced for decades with insulin costs
@@Jerry4281 Maybe for type 2, but type 1 individuals are born with diabetes and need insulin to live. Tell me, why is it that Europe and much of the industrialized countries have access to affordable medicine and care but not the US? Don't tell me FDA regulations considering that regulations are actually much stricter in Europe than anywhere else or our R&D processes which is subsidized by taxpayers. I work in the pharmaceutical industry, nothing is free, but it costs pennies to mass produce drug products but yet it is sold to patients for hundreds of dollars? While those in Europe, despite the product being manufactured in the US, will pay a few dollars out of pocket, if that. It's nothing more than greed
the part about having cancerous foods is so true. there's a chemical called potassium bromate that american bread companies use in their bread to make it rise better than just yeast on its own which in turn is supposed to make the bread taste better. Potassium bromate is found to be a carcinogen, aka something that can cause cancer. The potassium bromate is supposed to convert into potassium bromide, which is a safe chemical, as the bread bakes in the oven because of the heat. However, the potassium bromate does not fully convert into potassium bromide depending on how the bread is baked. There was a study done in the UK where the unwrapped bread they baked still had traces of potassium bromate in it while only a small amount of the wrapped breads they baked still had potassium bromate left over. Also, many European countries have banned it from being used in bread. Man, the fda really banned kinder surprise eggs, but cancerous chemicals in our food is a ok... BRUH

and also remember this could be solved by decommodifing the healthcare industry and making private healthcare illegal, therefore eliminating the profit motive and forcing wealthy people to use and invest in public healthcare through donations and or higher taxes (progressive taxes). the only reason people are looked at as customers/commodity in healthcare is because it is a for profit and majorly private industry.
And Yet we ALL keep living our lives and giving our money to them. And most ppl in this country don't mind or don't even notice how we're all being screwed over by the ppl who are supposed to be working for us, cuz they're too busy just living their lives and looking out for themselves and their own. This is the reason why I almost walked away from Medicine completely. While I love medicine, I refuse to be one of those doctors that "treat people". I honestly don't want to see one of my patients' faces again (and I mean that in a good way cause that means I did my job). I genuinely WANT people to be in good health, NATURALLY. Edit: I am not a doctor (Yet), but it's always been my dream. When I see my patients in the future though, I don't want them to come back to me. I want them to be healed. 🙏🏾

Hope you stick with it. The best doctors pursue both traditional and natural medicine. There is quackery & truth in both. Maybe move to a small town and run your own practice. It's a lot easier to do it from there than in a big city

"everywhere" else (most people just mean europe when they say this), there is either a big government that has high taxes or there is a small government that has low taxes. The bigger the government, the more insulin that they can pay for.
It's actually true. They did put a lot of cancerous crap in foodas well. Two of the most popular food dyes are known for causing cancer. One for white and one for pink. I've stayed away from those products (other than toothpaste, not sure how to avoid that one). Yeah.. their life goals are money, money, and money. They have no other thoughts.

I'm dealing with that right now. I got a simultaneous dual kidney pancreas transplant that was a little over $436,000 and now have to take anti rejection medication for life. Mind you my life has changed drastically, I'm normal again and my type 1 diabetes is gone and I've been a diabetic since i was 7. The medication is where it hits hard cause it's $900 a pop.

This vid crazy. I was just at the doctor last Wednesday with a bp of 150/90. Doc didn’t recommend a life style change just tried to put me on meds. Over the weekend I cut down the salt, ran a couple times ate some beets and Monday my bp was 120/82. They keep you alive just long enough then once you die before 65 they keep your social security check. Doc was real “salty” about me not needing high blood pressure medication.
