@@jdfiend I consider that most penalties are very debatable (players dive at lightest of touches, handballs that weren't avoidable, etc.) so that legitimacy is very questionable. Like one Portuguese coach mentioned (but regarding injuries in a single game) "1 - it's normal, 2 - happens, 5?!" Imagine every single game being awarded a penalty
My wife who doesn't even follow football has always said that there is a conspiracy theory connected to Man United when Fergie was in charge games like this just make me think she has a point.
You can tackle like that when you know the ref is a bought man. 8 penos in 8 for United is outrageous. The Van Nistelrooy stomp was a red and no one saw it... right in front of the lineo. And Nevilles first tackle was a red in today's game. Defo a yellow then. Disgusting for Wenger when he knows it's happening
United fan here, there was a period in the early 2000s, when there were quite obvious cases when the referee helped United. Howard Web was quite often involved. Even though we won everything - I cannot "twist my soul" (Bulgarian proverb) and say I was proud of that period. I understand why United became the most hated team. And Mike Riley - I remember many years ago, the owner of the Bulgarian club Levski Sofia said on live TV "this British ho*o*se**al broke the game", after robbing his team during the quarterfinals of the UEFA cup. I can't comment on his personal preferences, but he was one of the referees I hated the most.
@@Alexia.Ashford It was mostly UEFA in this match they really didn't want Chelsea to face Manchester again, could've been Milan, PSG or Bayern in that semi-final.
Because you didn't watch the game live and only watching a video that shows clips that went against Chelsea and not the ones that went against Barcelona , like the red card Abidal got , this video doesn't even show the other angle which clearly shows that Anelka tripped himself ... But of course the English Media will not talk about the first leg or the fouls and the dives that were committed by Chelsea in the 2nd leg ... the video even put Anelka with Touré just to goes with the narrative that it was a foul when it was a normal contact that players now days get a yellow for it. I think the full game is somewhere on the internet watch it and don't just listen to the english commentator then tell me was it really robbery against Chelsea or the ref was just bad against both teams.
@AMEDIBA Hahahaha have you missed the news where Barcelona have been caught paying referees? The fact you are trying to defend this is fucking hilarious hahahahhaah
As an Arsenal fan, I can't complain. Too many people hate on my team, and there's no point saying we got robbed by the ref, coz what's the point. I just hope we one day win the league coz I haven't witnessed my team lifting the Prem ever in my lifetime(I was born a month after the Invincibles won it). Love the videos though, keep up the great work❤
and you never will win the league, the smallest club in the big six by far... the ultimate bottlers VARsenal, tottenham will even finish higher than you this season...
As Arsenal fan... Looking back, Won't want to lose the *Invincible Moniker* to a Fulham💀 or Crystal Palace 💀... BUT THE OFFICIATING WAS INSANE!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Not to take anything away or whatever. But this was played at a time when fouls weren't given for a player sneezing on himself and stumbling. Keep that in mind.
Modern day PL football is so much more technical & refined. Bums like Neville would be playing championship today. No actual skill. Just brute barging into players. Rarely had a good calculated tackle or recovery. But I think it was a PL thing because back then every other top 5 leagues was more technically gifted & tactically sound then the PL. PL was just physicality & pace.
English team always made to late stages of champions league with plenty of quarter & semi finals legs between them as well. Liverpool in 05, Arsenal 06, Liverpool 07, United & Chelsea 08, United 09
And that's how Fergie became the manager with the most trophies. He was a match fixer, buying every win until he got humiliated by a younger more hungry Pep in not only one but two UCL finals!
Barcelona should NOT be considered the winner of UCL 2009, I never consider that in my eyes Barcelona tiki taka team were a disgrace, they played beautifully but their weaknesses were covered well by the referees. Pep lost respect when he was being hypocryite about the result.
Is anyone surprised utd havent been anywhere near a title since Ferguson retired? Referees are no longer afraid to ref a game at OT and Utd no longer have the same influence with the FA or PL. With his gamesmanship and manipulation he was worth 15 points a season.
The most rigged semi final ever in 2009 barcelona robbed first leg , chelsea robbed 2nd leg , that decisions on both legs to each teams where a damn disgrace
If VAR was here? This game would have gone differently. VAR still helps in major things even if it's still have some errors. I mean look at that penalty decision. VAR will cancel that.
Mainly because Barca didn't have 3 CLEAR penalties not given to them like what happened to Chelsea in the 2nd leg. It was just the 1 for Barca in that 1st leg.
That's garry neville for you wasn't even mediocre and when he came up against opposition players that's what he did luckiest player of all time was never good enough to win a packet of chocolate buttons.
We should have won this game, and after that we would have defended the title in 2005. The refs and United robbed us and gave the title to Chelsea when they were too weak to win it themselves. COYG!
@@siberianTiger639 utd game was deffo a robery but chelsea were the best team by miles that year and lets not get started on the chelsea barca game lol
U can see why United won so many league titles but the so called legendary GOAT manager by some people, Ferguson only won 2 UCLs… there’s just so much blatant cheating in the league… of course they will win that many league titles 😂😂😂
Interesting what you guys choose to remember. Of course during Arsenal´s 49 unbeaten run they weren´t helped by dodgy ref decisions at all. Yes, the penalty was a dive in this game, but I see you conveniently left out Ronaldo being absolutely taken out by Ashley Cole and nothing was given. United deserved to win this game. Even Arsenal fans shuold know that.
If you think the Mancs deserved to win that game then you are as blind as the rest of your so called supporters just at least be honest your side cheated
I don't know if match rigged is real but one thing I hate, referees often let the game flow in big match In these battles, not only Arsenal & Chelsea who suffered. United had blatant penalty's appeal & some other decisions against them in second half. For Barcelona, if you watched the first leg too, you would think it was a fair second leg for Chelsea
I did watch the first leg an chelsea got robbed i admit the disallowed goal was a bad decision from the first leg but chelsea had atleast 4 clear pens turned down
Let's pretend the bullshit decisions that went Arsenal's way at Highbury later that season didn't happen then eh? When Bergkamp and Ljungberg both should have received a red card in the same incident, but only Silvestre got sent off. Oh yeah, conveniently Arsenal forget about that. Or the 2 offside goals they got in the 2-2 draw at Highbury in 03. Yeah we'll forget about that too, it doesn't fit the narrative, so we'll pretend it didn't happen
You shouldn't have complained about Neville foul on Reyes in 00.15 since the referee knew and considered it a foul . He only gave the advantage of play because Arsenal had the possession with Henry at that action and why do you think he should give a foul when your team has the ball ? It's a law that you might have forgotten because when someone commits the foul of you but the ball in in your team's hold , the referee gives your team the possiblity to keep hold of the ball because it might be a promising attack for you , second , because they don't want to blow for fouls a lot not to make the game look boring and stop a lot .The beauty of the game consists in letting advantages and give players the chance to create opportunities , too many fouls on the game doesn't make it interesting so the less fouls are , the better the game is . But of course, Arsenal were relatively subjected to United's intensity here and referee should have been more brave not letting some United players get away from cards , But for the game , United needed that win.
