Yeah this is the same studio that came up with a solution for the party attendees in case every tiefling died before you save the grove and kill the goblin leaders. They definitely knew youd try to pickpocket jergal and chose to not make him care. Its just an excuse so that he is technically not interfering with mortals for his own benefit but rather just "providing a service" since Ao, the big boss of the gods, doesn't like it when gods interfere with mortals directly. They really used the VAs for the motion capture, too? It's not different actors for the mo-cap? That definitely makes this whole thing even better!

@@mewmew34 The actors already had experience in motion capture. Neil Newbon, Astarion's actor, has *a lot* of mocap experience. I think he talked about owning a a mocap business or something like that in interviews. The game devs said that most of the scenes are mocapped by their specific actors. There are exceptions though, like Ketheric Thorm, who was voiced by JK Simmons, and the romance scenes. I know the voice of Tav 1 is behind a lot of that work.

Trust me, this is one of the least wild things in the game, especially concerning Astarion. It's such an abstract scenario too that most people missed, and it's voice-acted this well. Absolute god-tier.

i hated him in my first playthrough until i saw the end of his questline, and now he's easily one of my favs. I wrote him off as "evil asshole" early on, which he is, but he ends up changing so much if you give him the opportunity. Probably my 2nd or 3rd fav character now, after shadowheart and maybe karlach.

@@rusk3986 i definitely see it as insecurity. its a mature action but i dont think its fueled by that. Hes not exactly known for his maturity, and considering his past and how poorly he's been treated, it definitely seems to me he apologises more because he doesnt want to anger one of the only positive people he's ever had in life. he does the same sort of thing by reacting excessively to any kindness you show him. In a lot of ways if youre a good aligned character and youre kind to astarion, youre basically teaching him how to be normal and well adjusted. Its why i could never start a romance with him, always seemed like an almost parental or older sibling role you were playing for him. Yes he's significantly older, but his entire life has been abuse, only getting free for short periods of time to entice a mortal into captivity.

The most of the voices in Starfield was ok. But... it just doesnt have soul... emotions are bleak if any...

The only good voice actors were for Adoring fan and Sam Coe, the later not exactly known for a great range either. No need to compare it to more modern games in general, Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood plotline is better written and voiceacted than entire Starfield as well.

Baldur's Gate 3 runs like shit on my GTX 1650. All the modern games are bad

I think the narrator is the best VA in the game. She is phenomenal.

All the VA''s had some masterful work in this game. The writing was a big part of it, but it's been a while since I've been this emotionally involved with the characters.

@@sechu2 The puzzle is about the journey, not the destination! Sure, at the end of the day, it's just putting weapons on tables, but did you know that was what you had to do at first sight? Nope, you had to read notes, infer context clues, and solve problems to get those weapons onto tables. A puzzle! Unless you cheated and looked at a guide. :P

On my second playthrough, after I fight the inquisitor, instead of fighting my way out, I will do this to level the building and kill every enemy inside, 😈

@@reptarien no no i did it without any guide. I even pass the game solo tactician without using any spoilers, guide etc. Now i just need increse difficilty mods to play as a 4 member team.

Honestly, it feels like the steps are so damn boring to getting the mace correctly that Larian assumed people would just grab it anyways and went all out with that specific conclusion.

I'm just 200 hours in and already pondering another playthrough. I don't know the last time i felt this way about a video game ever. Maybe old school RPGs like Bard's Tale or something.

There are scenes acted out for all sorts of things. Arrange Gale's demise if you haven't. That produces a hilarious scene. If you go full pschopath you get some scenes where Karlach hates you.

Last time I more stumbled into an explanation of stuff because I follow Jennifer Hale and I also picked up an interview with Will Wheaton. I think the weirdest thing they said was that companies were trying to force voice actors into some kind of mandated "you must apply for all jobs" kind of thing or "you must take the job if we ask for you." Which sounded ridiculous to me. I mean, even the lowliest janitor can decide what company he wants to work for or if he wants to work at all. Didn't pay much attention to the strike at the time beyond that it was happening. Guess we'll see what happens this time.

The negotiations previously negotiated for also need to be re-authorized. Strike _authorization_ doesn't yet mean _on strike_, notably. But they're prepping to do so the second anything goes wrong.

Incorrect, motion capture for info, then most of all animation is done by AI via script on how characters should be feeling and AI captures that emotion, amazing job on all departments for making such technology, this game would have taken many more years if everything was motion captured

They've literally showcased in behind-the-scenes footage numerous times the actors wearing the suits, while recording their lines at the same time. The capture was done in tandem with the voices. They're literally physically acting. The credit really goes to their tech team for insanely good implementation efficiency, because there really IS that much mocap in the game.

You can really tell what parts are mo cap and which ones aren't the ones without aren't that great very jagged
