Bryan: it is hard to believe but after so many years on RU-vid your videos keep getting better. I love this one about breaking clusters particularly in context of another recent video about how to move up in skill level. Last night in APA league play, a teammate would not break out a cluster involving three of his balls and one opponent ball. Somehow he believed it was better to let the opponent break out the cluster even though the opponent had only one other ball on the table (pocket hanger) and the 8. Needless to say that game quickly ended in the opponent’s favor. He probably picked up this bad advice from listening to the wrong players.

I love it Bryan. I was in an 8-ball league (not APA) where one guy on my team was like that. He constantly would get mad when I would pocket balls and not run out. I told him, isn't the point of the game putting balls in the hole? He would get so mad. Needless to say, we didn't get along. Been playing for the better part of 50 years. Not constantly, but playing regardless. Playing APA now. Need more practice, but that's a different issue. lol By the way, I'm also Bryan with a Y. The only way to spell it. Anyway, love the channel and your attitude about the game.

This is amazing information!!! When I started really putting in my hours of pool practice. There was no internet, if you didn’t hire a professional you weren’t going to get better fast. I haven’t played for the last 14 years. Just coming back, and I get to study with the best players and improve my game it’s just amazing…. Another thing when you have a coach, you get to hear it once. You watch a video, you get to digest it fully…. I can’t believe how much this is going to help!

I’m def part of that 75 percent group ha. Apa 7’s love me I think. I’ve been working on that. Most of the time I recognize when I can’t but it’s the finding the right shot to play defense on to better my chances that I struggle with.

Great stuff man. I love your no-nonsense attitude 😊 Some people might find it a little abrasive, but I don't care. It works for me!

Yes Sir!!! Preach it Brother! : ) Early as feasible/possible (and still having as shot in yer plan after break-up/contact)... you be the one, not yer opponent! Make it a part of yer plan, if not, it WILL BE part of yer opponents plan and you'll be racking!!! Love it!!! Be Safe

Hi Brian love your videos. Just played in APA tri annuals bar box Diamonds very tight pockets they had to be under 4 1/2 inches, the buggers did not want to accept a ball, every one had the issue except the slow roller 3's and 4's.

Players have got to get out of their comfort zone. And when you break up a cluster you're not giving up a shot you just need to get a good angle on your original shot to go in to the cluster after you make your ball that way you're not giving up a shot. But always make sure you make your shot and do not take your mind off of it because you're trying to break up a cluster and miss. That happens often even to the higher ranked players.

Cutthroat again today. I had four balls on the table, and one a piece of theirs. Only shot I had was cross side standing over a dog, and the double stack barrel wood stove behind me. I broke my cue down, beauty cross side, and left myself perfect. Cue back together spun the final ball in and out of the pot, and lost the game. I had run 8 balls. It was so funny. But point being, I call the balls on the short rail or clusters, learning from you how to spot problems. Opposite way around, but it's effective. And mapping out either my next shot, or where to leave them knowing i might miss.
