Note we had a camera malfunction part way through but the on screen hand action and audio continues as normal. Nate gives us a great example of knowing when a bluff is still needed even after connecting with the river. He chooses an efficient size as well based on well thought out hand reading.
Can u do a video from the perspective of aces in this same hand? Seems like I'm always the one with a big preflop hand and I fold alot when the skeery cards come. (I'm a wimp) of course when I call they always have it! 😂 Thanks for ur videos and contributions to poker!
I like 750 sizing. Anything less may get a crying-call. The 750 sizing accomplishes the same thing as a pot size bet. Overbet or jam seems like too much risk with a 4 liner.
Why check raise more on 2 flush boards than on rainbow? They're so much more likely to continue light if they think you might be check raising a flush draw.
That's true some of the time but most of the time your check raises are going to come with straight and flush draws out there as you're going to want to protect your hand a little more and charge those draws. Check raising rainbow flops like that usually don't make sense because if you're repping a set why would you feel the need to raise when you're still going to be way ahead on most turns.
@@ThePatriots010304 because two pairs are way more common than sets here and those do want protection. As do sets, honestly, cause so many face cards beat you so much of the time.
How do you know he has an overpair on the turn? Is it because top or middle pair folds to the check raise on the turn? Can villain have flush or straight draws going to the river?
Naked straight draws seem unlikely after hero check raises. QQ has a gutshot but it’s an overpair. JJ is open ended but also an overpair and hero blocks its. I suppose KQcc is possible. But calling with any other KQ seems absurd. As for flush draws, ATcc/KTcc seem possible, which hero is actually beat by the river so I don’t know why Bart dismissed those on the river.
Flush or straight draw would not C-bet turn on a dangerous board. (talking sound poker play. Now, depending on who V is). No point 2nd barreling into a H's possible two pairs, sets or straight! (These all are possible).
I think the main question is what would we do with 2 paid or a set on this river. Are we polarized to only a straight when we bet this river or at least with that sizing
I don’t know why but it’s weird listening to Nate discuss poker strategy with his southern accent lol. I have this prejudice that I can’t shake where when I hear southern accents my brain reverts to a stereotype. Nate always has the best calls because he’s very well versed in strategy.
Wouldn't we not want to try to value bet over pot vs AA Kk if they only call 30% of the time when villain still has all combos of QQ and maybe AQcc? Not as many Kk left and same amount of QQ to AA. I think a blocker bet for value at least still leaves you an out in case he does simply have QQ
We’re saying hero has no showdown value on the river but ATcc and KTcc seem quite credible to me. Why do we not think V can have those hands? Are we saying they just check back turn?
Yes. Those hands would not C-bet turn on a dangerous board. (talking sound poker play. Now, depending on who V is). No point 2nd barreling into a H's possible two pairs, sets or straight! (These all are possible). . I (AA) would not called Turn x/r. It's just me. I see no point going inferior with that if I am ahead on a dangerous board, nor calling a hand that already beat me when I have awful pot odds. I either jam or fold.
Good pun, but say there was 500 in the pot and you make a joke about betting 420 as a pot size bet, could a dealer not realizing that’s a joke bind you to betting 500?
Declaring a pot-size bet or announcing "pot" in a NLH game is not a binding action. If there's $15 in the pot and you say "pot" and put in a black chip, that's a binding $100 bet, because the dealer is not allowed to calculate pot size in order to size your bet for you. Good thing to know so you don't get angled!
Check raising flush draw boards are more likely to get called, if you check raise a board with no flush draw you're more likely to get folds, this guy is a clown.
