@@whywhy548 I did but I’ve also seen his last 3 before that and he’s gotten knocked dead because he threw the game plan out the window. His last one was very very calculated and smart he stayed calm and cracked him but He also only fights once a year which isn’t good.
Dom had some great lines in the build-up to this fight. But man, Cody has never and will never look as good as he looked that night, and I mean that as a compliment. Incredible performance

Is it really just about keeping calm though? Unlike the Dillashaw fights Garbrandt had no emotional or personal stakes when he fought Munhoz, Font or Kara-France and he still got beaten BADLY
This was the greatest upset performance I've ever seen. 5 rounds of domination. Garbrandt toyed with Cruz for every second of this fight. It wasn't a one punch knockout or grappling for 25 minutes. I have never been so surprised with a performance in my life. I just wish this was the same Garbrandt that fought Dillashaw because he could have been so dominant.

No. He was able to look like this because Dom was stylistically favourable, has pillowfists and TAM had years of data on him. Versus any other decent opponent, he has lost and lost badly. Assuncao was washed and is 40. If Cruz had more power, Cody would’ve been in trouble in a few points in that fight. Fortunately, Cruz has pillows for fists.

That night Dominick realised that he had finally found the man that had literally been born to beat him. It was the literal definition of "he was witnessing an ass-whooping and it was his ass getting whooped". Too bad he couldn't keep his cool and gave up his boxing defence completely in his rage

Cruz biggest strength was his abitlty to get inside of his opponent head, but that is impossible with Cody, who simply didn't have anything inside his head
The loss was tough to watch, but Dom really handled it better than anyone could've expected. That post-fight speech is one of the most inspirational things I've seen from any fighter and something we can incorporate into our own lives. Loss is a part of life. People lose in a variety of ways, not just physically like Dom did.

This was one of my favorite title fights since I’ve started watching the sport. Everybody and their momma were laughing at Cody’s chances and he came in there and performed damn near flawlessly.
Cody’s whole career was built around to beat Dominick, the games evolved past Dominick, so the game has also passed Cody 😿 it hurts for me to say that! Because this era was so unpredictable 🤯🤯🤯
I remember watching this live, this is one of the best UFC fights in history imo. It was very entertaining. Cody literally showed Dom his own game and bested him at that.

TJ was catching Garbrandt in middle of exchanges and finishing him, unlike with Dominick Cruz he was also catching Garbrandt in middle of exchanges but he cannot floor him down due to the lack of power.

This was probably the most satisfying one of them all. Cody was basically toying with him in there. I counted 3 times he could have pounced on him when he was hurt to finish him but he just danced on him and gave him poses
Awesome fight. Extremely entertaining. The foot work and head movement by both men is unreal. Cody's best performance in his career and Dom has nothing to be ashamed of.
If Cody fought like that in every fight he'd never lose. That was incredible and of all guys to do it on, a performance like that against Cruz was really special. Classic.
Styles make matchups, Cruz was stylistically favourable and lacked power to exploit his holes. Any decent fight Cody has fought since then has beat him badly.

Cody Garbrandt is the saddest story in recent mma. In this fight he was a straight up God - then he barely lost to a juiced up Dillashaw and then he fell apart. Here's to hoping he finds his legs again.

He was so great in this fight that he made Cruz look like he was surrounded lol sent Cruz to the shadow realm multiple times and pulled him back every time to continue beating the absolute shxt out of him. This night Cody was unstoppable!! If he fought like this every time and used the head movement and foot work and stopped head hunting he would be at the top of this division but instead he got wrapped up in the 1 punch power and he can stop anyone with one shot and in the process got dismantled by Tj not once but twice and lost to Pedro Munhoz got a W against Assuncao lost to Font which clearly shouldn’t have happened he looked gun shy in that fight and lost to France hrs ago…he clearly needs a new camp a fresh start I know Team Alpha Male is his friends and family but if he went to like ATT or JW they have a better variety of fighters for him to train with and Iron sharpens Iron it could very well revitalize his career he has lost 4 of his last 5 a lot of people would’ve been cut a long time ago
I remember people saying that team alpha male specifically tailored Cody's style to beat Dominick since Dominick had beaten all comers from alpha male. That's why Cody could make dom look so easy and just get wrecked by other fighters. He succeeded in his task though
Cruz is the only dude for whom trash talk absolutely can't go wrong even if he loses, because it's just so good we all remember it even more than the actual fight itself
