Horrible to hear about Colbrelli - it’s shocking to think about an athlete finishing a stage so strongly only to collapse - hoping for a quick recovery 🤞
It has been great to see many of the smaller budget teams doing so well this year, at the expense of the highest-budget team. Just a few short years ago after Bernal's tdf win they seemed a juggernaut likely to dominate for another decade. How the mighty have fallen. I'm sure they will be back, they still have a lot of talent, but I do rather enjoy watching them struggle.
Congratulations Bike Exchange and Michael Matthews, well done. Hopefully this spurs the team on to have a very good season. Good health and recovery to Sonny. Well Done Michael...Cheers from Australia.
Thanks for the overview, miserable weather must have taken its toll on Colbrelli who if as you say missed MSR due to a chest infection probably had not fully recovered and should not have started. Heart arrhythmia is a rare but well recognised problem in super fit athletes who have a flu like illness and then go back to severe exertion in adverse conditions too soon. He really needs 6 weeks off now.
@@pauljansen1137 hmm i think it needs to be harder for a Valverde win. There is no need for sprinting for top 5 in stage 1,if you can win the whole race.
I hope that Colbrelli has a full recovery but wonder if he got a covid vaccination or booster recently. Many athletes and young people are experiencing blood clots and cardiac issues due to the spike proteins that have been traced to some of the vaccinations. Such a scary moment for him and wish him the best.
4:02 am I smoking crack or is Carapaz plastered with mud? Defo seems like he wiped out. Hopefully there's nothing serious or underlying with Colbrelli's heart situation, wishing him the best.
Is it the Covid or is it the vaccine ? According to experts on this the risk of heart related issues is 40x higher after actually having covid, than after getting the vaccine.
@@moralrevival don´t think its related to vaccination if I understand you right here. More pressure to race right after a bronchitis must be the issue. Not fully recovered and over exhausted lead to a heart attack.
@@fried_tri Was it vaccination? I thought they were referencing performance enhancing drugs. Seems unfortunately quite likely considering Sonny's massive gain in form and Bahrain being an incredibly suspicious team. Hopefully that's not the case and certainly wish him the best no matter what caused it
