Everyone- He must be calculating all his moves Anand- If I use a hand sanitizer and if it kills 99% of germs, and then use another hand sanitizer which kills 99% germs will it kill 198% germs or will it kill 99% of 1% germs...
Miroxion the OC(original commenter) is talking about how during his own games he blunder his queen and a hypothetical commentator would say “Oooo he blunders his queen.”
When a commentor goes OOoooOO in Anand's game:He takes a pawn with queen which if taken results in a back rank checkmate When they do that in my game: I take a pawn with queen which if taken results in me being a queen down.
Anand once explained in an interview that the reason for his deep thinking was infact that Smirin had chosen this very unusual line, and since Smirin needed a win Anand was worried that this could have been some sort of home preparation. So he tried to remeber if there was any new theory about some Kind of opening traps in this system and in addition tried to chose they best line to play to avoid getting into this uncomfortable territory.
it will sound dumb but when I was a child and know a little about chess I thought that we have to say good morning to the big players in chess every time before taking their name GM Vishy, GM Kasparov, GM Hikaru, GM Mikhail, GM Magnus Edit: I wrote this randomly BTW thanks for so many likes..!
Anand was known as the "Lightning kid" in his teens . he used to play classical chess like rapid sometimes ending up with more time on the clock than he started with . he was like hikaru of yesteryear . In this particular game he spent 1:43 seconds on the 4th move and two minutes on the next 46 moves .
Ben Finegold has told a story where he was playing a Rapid tournament with Vishy there. It was game in 30 minutes and Vishy never used more than 10 minutes and won all his games.
Not even kidding, if more announcers were like that dude I'd watch chess tournaments a lot more. That was some passion for the game right there. Sounded like some underground chess battle lmao
@@MohammadIbrahim-sq1xn That's why chess24 stopped showing eval bar on main board. Coz we all know without it, how good u guys are at spotting mistakes.
GM Maurice Ashley also streams on Twitch, and he does still show up as a commentator for some matches. When he teams up with Robert Hess, it's a lot of fun.
@@xfactor7923 Seriously? Well, anyways Search :" L death note photo" Go to images section, choose your favourite one, Right click or hold it (for phone) then Download image, or for better quality just get inside some websites
Or he sees a variation that's about to Destroy My entire position Actually I'm playing a gm rn Hes been thinking for a sold minute or two Huh? He blundered a queen Thanks for the free que- *Gets brutally hunted into the middle of the board and gets checkmated*
if you are up on the clock then to take advantage you also need to play fast and only use the time if you really need to - remember it also gives your opponent time to relax and think if you do whereas moving fast keeps the pressure on him
@@roblarssen249 No..its a physcogical thing...when your opponent plays faster, you will be end up playing faster than your usual speed. .. he had twice the time what anand has....but he was matching his speed...he makes too many blunders
@@devankmittal8311 Smirin (white) resigned. Anand was up a piece (bishop), and whilst Smirin was able to defend the past pawn with his king (on the other side of the board), black;s defending rook swooped up the pawn, trying to trade white's rook, which was the only defender of the remaining pawns. In a losing position, you cannot trade pieces (most of the time!). Taking the trade, or escaping it would have resulted in the same scenario, Anand would have taken all whites remaining pawns. The position is dead lost. If they would have played on, Smirin would have had to defend his king with his rook, against black's rook, bishop and two queens. White gave up.
Anand was asked about this in the interview after. Smirin did not play the opening Anand was expecting. In a finale like this, White must win and so will play something dangerous to avoid Black forcing a simple draw. When Anand saw that Smirin was deviating from his usual opening, he says that he stopped to think what players and tournaments Smirin had been in recently. He was trying to figure out if there was some new trap or opening that had been developed recently using that move. Once he had an idea what Smirin was going for (which could have been ten moves out), he decided what opening he would play to avoid that line. The plan worked. Anand was able to prevent Smirin from getting any momentum in his attack. He sacrificed a piece to try to get a clear path for his center pawns (to try to queen one of them), but Anand was able to trade away enough pieces that Smirin couldn't keep the position active enough to win.
Hikaru: This was sometime in 1993, I don't know, long time ago Magnus: This was played in Intel PCA Rapid Chess Grand Prix, 1994, exactly after 10 mins 24 seconds Smirin played c4 on the 8th move, Anand was wearing a white shirt... PS- I love Hikaru ❤️
@@MyFlabbergastdifference in opinion is good but calling anyone racist is bad. They do that towards Indian players nowadays. The questions asked during candidates was a show of that but there was nothing racist in this one. When you start throwing words that matter everywhere then it loses its value that's why one should not use that just like that.
Apparently this is indeed a pretty rare variation of the Petrov. The lichess database says that, after white's fourth move, this position has only been reached 78 times. An engine says that 4.. d5 is best.
And how many of them were played before this match ? Not sure. So Vishy was trying to remember/visualise if there were any known traps here . That's what he spent his time on .
Vishy : 🤔 Commentators : OH MY GOD THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE HIS THINKING WHAT A STRONG PLAY OH GOD WOW I AM STUNNED WHAT NO WAY!! IT'S 4 MOVES OH WOW AMAZING HIS THINKING AND GARY KASPAROV IS WAITING AND OH MY GOD.
Vishy was interviewed after and asked about why he took so long to make that move He said he was remembering all the opponents games in case he'd done some deep home preparation that would catch him out when he only needed a draw It wasn't about being stumped after 4 moves at all...he's a super GM lol
People were following xqc instructions before his birth . What a legendary god tier chessplayer . Even paul morphy said : The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentleman. The ability to play chess like xqc is the sign of a wasted life.
When the announcers said make a move, I was legit about to comment about how it sounds like Hikaru in sub battles, then 2 seconds later he says it himself lmao. 5 head self awareness.
I mean honestly that was some super entertaining commentary. Had a blast listening to their enthusiasm and made me enjoy it even more and feel even more involved.
The commentator was such a dick and doesn't know anything about chees! "Just make a move" Bitch we don't play chess like that, specially on an opening move
Vishy:Thinks about a move for over a minute Me:Comes up with the same move in 10 seconds, just thinking about attacking what I see I am somewhat of a GM myself
