@@technetium9653 it’s probably because they need to do a lot of editing and captioning work for this type of show. Full length episodes would probably cost too much money for them or so they’ve estimated.

They do it semi-regularly. Disney can't create a no fly zone over the park, and you're guaranteed a huge amount of eyes on your advertising.

Not only is it semi-regular, they've been doing it for quite a while. I've witnessed it firsthand myself. I actually have a photograph from a visit to EPCOT back in 2007, where someone hired a skywriter to write JESUS LOVES YOU over the park. So it's been going on for at least 16 years at this point.

I saw one at Disneyland in California as well! Seems like a pretty popular thing to do over the Disney Parks.

I didn't know the Germans had a seven-letter word for that.

If you write an 'R' on a piece of paper, how would it look to someone looking at that paper from the underside?

@@lateralcast - Well, that assumes the letters are being written on a horizontal plane, which isn't necessarily the case with sky writing (ex., if it's near the coast the letters tend to be written upright or at an angle, above the sea, so they can be seen from the shore and the aeroplane doesn't need to fly over urban areas). And even then the aeroplane isn't _above_ the letters, it's creating the letters _along its path,_ so the resulting text never really looks the right way up (or mirrored) to the person doing the writing, does it? It would look "mirrored" when seen from above (compared to how its seen from below), but from the point of view of the writer it's basically side-on. I also don't understand why a mirrored S or W would be harder to write than a (non-mirrored) Z or M. If anything, I'd think an S would be easier to do than (for example) a K or an E, because it can be done in a single pass. Even if they're doing lowercase cursive (which would make the "e" simpler), lots of letters seem more complicated than an S, just due to the multiple passes.
