@@firetruck988 Especially considering earlier in the vid you have proof this wasn't his first offence. At :53 seconds into vid, you get a server message 'cledus snowman has fired on a friendly'. Same guy as later.
@@jtnachos16 Oh, nice spotting! Absolutely it looked deliberate, but I've played enough warthunder to know it's more likely just a case of terminal retardation.
If you look closely, you can see that the P-38 pilot was pulling back on the stick when it nosedived into the ground. Those big fowler flaps must have considerable pitch down torque; combined with that sharp correction from the initial spin, the entire elevator stalled and he lost all pitch control, he was doomed. Really shows the quality of the physics simulation.
Me going through the grinding torment of trying to learn il2 on a wet-cardboard-acid-taysting pc from a warthunder main for the soul purpose of putting my squadmate through living hell while he tries to learn. Detailed simulator vs braintot vs near reta-(my lawyer advised me to not finish this joke). Dcs sometime maybe?
The BIGGEST main problem of P-38 in IL-2 is unrealistic flaps steering - you must manually , percent by percent move them down, than the same way move them up. In real plane you have three flaps position, which are set by flaps lever to strict designed position : for manevoer its 8degrees down, next for takeoff, than lowest full flaps for landing. In game its completely incorect, and thats why this Lightning had lowered flaps in complete unrealistic position , too much for dogfight, too less for takeoff, and that indicated too much drag in flight, that why he fell in turn. Practically its imposible to use flaps set for dogfight in IL-2 for P-38. And of course he was too low to fight with 109😏.
I think he was getting '"revenge" for you "stealing" his kill. happend once , some crazy dude and his teammate started spraying me. in the end, i killed one and the other crashed in low level. that moment was epic XD
@@carroteer It's kind of more the fact youtubers will show the better videos than the worse ones. It's quite understandable and even I do that in for my videos because no one wants to watch a video of someone bumbling around and repeatedly dying or missing thousands of shots for those few that hit.
In that first-second encounter with the P-38, I read this book about the entire development and history of that bird, and it’s safe to say I’m emotionally distraught seeing your encounter with something that should’ve had you out of the sky before you ever heard it.
One thing why I don't play this game is atrocious contact visibility (everyone complains about it in wt, but it is miles better). But in this situation it is definitely player's fault
Yes we flew it once already. Problem is, it takes very long to start up and climb, it's rarely available with gunpods on maps and it's very fragile here
