From 1995: 13News got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what it took to bring "Wheel of Fortune" to USS Dwight D. Eisenhower at Naval Station Norfolk!
Show creator Merv Griffin wanted to celebrate Armed Forces Week in a special way, which resulted in 10 episodes being recorded on board the aircraft carrier. Reporter Joe Flanagan documented the building of a set in the Eisenhower's hangar bay, the excitement surrounding the game show's arrival to Hampton Roads, and of course, Pat Sajak and Vanna White's experiences coming to Virginia.

For being the puzzle board exclusively used for road shows, I had no idea how many pieces that broke down to until this upload.

I remember watching the Norfolk episodes of Wheel. Takes me back to 3rd grade.

I don't think that's Harry. That's too much hair on the hairline to be Harry.

@@emanueljackson1728 Harry did become the producer of WOF late in the 1994-95 season, and he replaced Nancy Jones prior to the Norfolk trip.

@@zachhoran I know, he taped his first shows by March 1995. He's even in this video @ 5:58. But the guy at the puzzleboard still had a hairline. Harry didn't even have one back then.

@@emanueljackson1728 It could have been one of the contestant coordinators. Harv Selsby was the contestant maven for the early days of syndicated Wheel,but I rthink he left the show by 1995

@@zachhoranI think you’re right, that guy doesn’t have his glasses on like Harry wore. Both have mustaches until Harry shaved the mustache off and he no longer has the mustache.
