When we shot this video, we still had yet to drive into Rogers. We actually couldn't get to Rogers that day. The next day, we were able to drive in,,,,not to sight see,,,,,we were looking for internet so we could check in with our family. Deb and I both were shocked and saddened by all of the devastation. As of now, there are 3 confirmed fatalities. We pray for everyone affected by this storm. It will be quite some time to recover from this. The photos you saw in this video are nothing compared to the devastation in Rogers. This spring storm season has been way too costly in property damage, but most importantly, way too costly in suffering and lives lost.😢
That same line of storms came across Ky where I live. Luckily I wasn't effected but there were so many here that were. The damage is phenomenal and the loss is very saddening. Praying for all that have had to endure these storms. 🙏😢
As we just drove from NJ to Douglas GA and back to pick up our cargo trailer we drove through a ton of bad weather. Weather is uncontrollable for sure and our strength and support to all that have been effected. Please stay safe and take notice to changing weather patterns and alerts. Truly seems like its going to be one of those years of changing weather patterns.
On the outside looking in, you think you could just leave a bad weather situation. Your house has wheels. But it’s not quite that simple when it is popping up everywhere around you. Let alone 2:30 in the morning. Glad you both are well.
Wow guys, I was up all night watching Arkansas Weather Watchers on RU-vid. So glad you guys are ok but sad we lost Susie Q malt shop. Prayers go out to everyone in the area.Sending much love.
So glad you three are ok following the storms, that had to be one helluva ride to go through that in a CTC. Thanks for sharing your moments and thoughts and we will definitely keep the families that were affected in our thoughts.
Life as we know it has changed. My love goes out to all. I am glad that you didn’t get a direct hit. But I think what hit you was the tail end of the big one that hit Rogers. I am so so so grateful for all that was spared, lives and property…as bad as this was worse could have happened.
That picture of the root ball and the guy next to it... whoa. Definitely glad i decided on building the 14kWh battery and maxing out roof space for solar. Now I need to think about a battery powered chain saw. Growing up in KS, MO and AR I have ridden out several storms in the cinderblock bathrooms. My grandpa (in his late 60s early 70s) told us go get in the neighbors basement once when we asked if he would come too he said I survived the Japanese I am just playing the odds that the funnel isnt going to come down this way but your mom would kill me if something happened to you guys. Since then I have taken a very pragmatic approach to safety. Dont go borrowing trouble but dont hyperfixate on the worst case scenario. Glad you are ok. How did the solar panels hold up?
@@billanddeb I actually thought about being able to provide excess energy in emergencies/ dispersed camping with friends when planning my system. The ability to help neighbors keep medications/baby food cold and provide a cool space if needed was definitely a consideration. I picked up a 24 v minisplit (listed as 850W) so hopefully it can run all the time off a 1400 panel array and still have enough left over for the fridge and what not.
Wow on the damage but I am so glad you are both ok and no damage to your home or van god bless you and safe travels I am in DeSoto Mo I know you know where it is as you have stayed in the camp grounds by Wapapello I’m just up the road be safe ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
I was watching the storms from Kansas City & knew you would be at one of the camps near Rogers. Was praying for you, My sister at Holiday Island & my friends in Shell Knob. Glad you posted an update.
I'm so glad y'all are okay! That's some scary stuff! We got some of that weather ourselves over here in middle GA. We were checking in to a new campground when a tornado touched down and traveled for miles just a few miles from FDR State Park.
My husband and I live in a designated NWS StormReady county in Indiana. We are both volinteers with our county emergency management agency and my husband is a core weatherspotter. In March every year, our EMA has a weatherspotter training session. One of the points made is that if you don't have a safe spot in your home, one of the best things to do generally is drive south for a mile or two. Glad to know you and your family is safe.
My heart goes out to the families of those who did not survive. And also to those with totaled RV’s and absolutely any injuries. How scary. I’m glad the two of you are OK as well as your families.
Hello, I’ve been a fairly long time subscriber and absolutely love your content and all your videos and all the hard work you’ve put into all your videos and I know and understand you want to be near by to your family but maybe since you live fairly OUTDOORS and have the ability to take your home with you maybe relocate for the MONTHS when TORNADOES are more frequent in the area’s closer to where family is near. I’m about your guys age and always admire how flexible you are in how you approach life’s challenges. You both are amazing people. Thanks for sharing all you do! Love Delilah too ! So glad you were save from that terrible storm . Take care 🌻
My son lives in CENTERTON. It was really windy and LG hail there too. He lost electricity from 9pm til the next morning. Finally was able to talk to him at 10AM in the morning. Things are ok there. He is about 10 min drive from Roger's. No major damage where he lives.
We were thinking about you and hoping all was well. Stay safe, we are in Illinois and decided to leave early with the storms coming in on Sunday in southern IL.
Only by the Grace of God. It wasn't your time. It truly seems like this year is worse than most, at least in your neck of the woods. Always looking in on you guys. Glad you are okay.
You both look very tired, after seeing those pictures Raise your hand to the sky and Thank the Good Lord that no one wasn’t hurt or killed. My goodness those trees are huge . I cut fire wood and there’s a lot of wood there . I’m so glad you all are ok . Get some sleep you didn’t get last night. Love you all!
Touched down west and east of me. Power is still out here off highway 20 in Oklahoma. Lost 2 in Oklahoma. Very rapid moving storm here. Surprised it didn’t carry much water.
Deb and Bill, I am praying for both of you and all of the people affected by this sequence of events. I hope all of your families are safe and any damage is just dollars and cents. Stay safe both of you!
We do have stabilizer jacks on all for corners. During the setup procedure, once we have the trailer level, we cinch the stabilizer jacks down firmly to the ground. Although this would not keep the trailer from blowing away, it does make it more difficult to blow over with a hard wind. Of course, nothing will save it from a direct hit from an EF2 or above tornado.
