Technically we all die every single day when we go to sleep, death is a state of your soul leaving your body, if it's not returned or taken away you're pronounced dead and if it's returned or not taken away you either woke up from your sleep or a coma or something similar of sort. And yes when you die you will have more knowledge of yourself and your past than you had in ur life. And you'll be well aware of the fact you died because your consciousness is inside your mind not ur brain and mind is a part of ur soul. Your mind exists in ur heart and ur brain in physical form and the rest of the body is in the veil of ur soul.

I had a Druid tell me "There is no life after death, there is only life.... meaning that death is simply a transition, not an end". I believe this idea is as valid as any other.

So, I had to undergo a really risky brain surgery. I had to sign allot of documents just incase I died while in surgery. I had to set up my will and take allot of precautions just incase. It was pretty scary. But I remember getting wheeled to the operation room, and when they applied the anesthetics, everything just went to black. When I woke up 10 hours later, they said I died twice. I had no clue. And I think that's kinda how it's like. You just close your eyes and either wake up alive or never wake up again. Either way, you won't know.

Interesting, i feel like death is like when you fall deep asleep for more than 8 hours, and you have no clue what happened between those hours, exept death is forever. Is just like before we were born..there is nothing...now i do believe in god, so i still have that hope🙏🏼

Not to undermine your story at all but I find it strange that you can ‘die’ more than once. It feels weird they’d even use that term. In my mind, something is dead when it can not return to life by any means. When your biological processes are incapable of sustaining you. If you’re capable of being brought back, there are some systems still functioning. So you’re not technically dead… just in a sort of stasis more than anything? That’s my view point at least.

I was in a bad motorcycle accident in 1992 in which I was dead at the scene. I felt myself traveling surrounded by light or a brightness. It was the best feeling ever, it felt like euphoria. During the experience, I was able to think and analyze what just happened, realizing that I was just in an accident. My wife at the time was pregnant with my son and while in the "afterlife", I was able to deduce that I wanted to see my son being born. I told myself that I was not ready to be gone yet and somehow was able to return to my body at which time I was surrounded by first responders so I was gone for a while. I have looked into this and found that there are quiet a few people who had a similar experience.

If you are still alive, then you didn't die at all. even if doctors are declaring you dead and you come back, you weren't truly dead. Some body states can mimic death so perfectly that even doctors will be fooled. If you remmebr anything from that experience, that means that there were still electrical activity in your brain, which means that you didn't die, And it's not because your heart stopped beating that you were dead, For as long as there is brain activity, doesn't matter how faint it maybe, you are still alive. You are dead when 100% of your brain functions have stopped. and it takes about 1 to 2 minutes after death before you start shitting yourself. You see, death have all of your muscle release their tension, which in turn causes your bowels muscles to completely relax and everything in them just starts to pour out. Urine, excrement event the content of your stomach empties. So no YOU WERE NOT DEAD.

@@TheH8reddyou don't know that. You talk like you unraveled the big questions about life and death. It seems to me that for you the word "you" is another word for the body. Or more accurate, "you" is the same as the brain. You don't know if the brain is needed for experience. We know at best it's correlated for manifesting in what we call the physical world. But I agree with you that once the braincells are broken, sharing the experience with "the living" is not possible.

I hit a phone pole on a bike at 128 mph in 1976. I remember the crash in slow motion, bouncing, sliding, flipping and scraping. I felt nothing. I do not remember stopping. I became aware that my consciousness had been thrown from my body. I experienced something akin to floating in warm jello, I was connected to the entire Universe, I knew I was dying and contemplated my life deciding that I had lived the way I should want to up until that point and accepted my fate. I was content. A friend who I'd just passed somehow avoided me with his car, stopped and grabbed me by my jacked and shook me back into my body. Then the pain hit. I didn't actually have any life threatening injuries. I can only assume that the shock of what, for most, would have been instant death threw me somehow from my body. I moved on. I've since experienced a very similar state when I was shot in the face. The bullet cut the main arteries and blood flow to the brain was stopped. Turns out I have something called the "circle of willis" which took over for the arteries and resumed flow to the brain. I suffered a stroke however and was totally paralyzed. In hospital, after realizing I was a vegetable I willed myself into the same state and began to leave my body intentionally. I coded and the doctor who responded did his examination and I was pronounced dead. He then started to twist my nipple which was extremely painful once I acknowledged it. He wouldn't stop until I willed myself to tell him to. Then I was back in pain country all over again. I fought and worked until I regained about 95 percent body function and here I still am. Call me crazy if you like but I know what I know and that is that we are all connected. This is how my friend knew to shake me rather than give up on me and the doctor knew I wasn't completely gone. Call it intuition if you like but it is a total connection or oneness that exists within and between everything. A vibration or energy which transcends physicality. Blessings

You don’t know you’re dead because you aren’t dead. You have simply transitioned to the next stage. How do I know ? Because in 1982 I had a catastrophic car crash. At a trauma hospital I died during triage. But it was just flat lining. Later during a 9 hour surgery, I died again. This time I went astral travelling and had a profound NDE. Like a previous commenter, I too had a young family and wanted to return to my life. My injuries were great and I was ‘told’ life would be very difficult if I went back. The entire time, I was myself but I was a spiritual being. Like being in the dark, but you are still yourself. Our spirit is immortal and the body is no more than a suit of clothes. Eventually after much consternation, I was returned. I just woke up in a hospital bed. My body was so badly broken and I didn’t walk for over a year. Yes life has been challenging since then, but it’s also been spectacular. I’ve had massive adventures, held great jobs and travelled extensively. I’ve had chronic pain for over forty years, but I would not have done it differently. I’m confident, fearless and 70 years old. What’s not to like.

I have had 2 Near Death Experiences , it does feel like you woke up from a dream. The memory of your life slowly fades ,no matter how hard to try to grab ahold of it. It's gone,you realize your life on earth is over. You start yo accept tje new situation,like being born, ypu ate now somewhere else. You just arrived,you must let go of the life you had before and see what is going on here, at this new strange environment.

My apologies if this sounds cold.. but I had the opportunity to literally watch my mother in law take her last breath and pass. (RIP Mum) It’s not something you see everyday, is it… It all happened quickly; the previous night she had come out of surgery for a knee replacement. She phoned us and said she was doing laps in the hallways of the hospital and felt great. The following night, we watched her die. Turns out she had cancer. The first visible change was in her face. The cheeks became sunken, and all facial muscles had turned off. Her breathing became shallower and shallower until it just stopped. It reminded me of when I was a kid and caught my first fish. It went from this vibrant, beautiful creature that just wanted to live, and then became just this lifeless object. Other than mosquitoes and flies, I never killed anything again.

Imagine being in a plane that suddenly crashes into a mountain. The passengers die instantly. The same with an execution before a firing squad. They say when 4 rifle bullets destroy your heart, death is instantaneous. You probably die before your brain can process what just happened or before you can sense any pain. I have a theory that many people die before they realize what just happened. Many auto accident victims report they wake up in the hospital and don't remember anything about the accident. The other thing are the friends and family who are left behind with grief and sadness. They probably suffer far more than the person who died. More than likely, many forms of sudden death are probably quite easy.

I had an NDE when I was younger. After I’d left my body I was just floating there above the scene watching. I can remember feeling badly for my mom’s boyfriend because I was watching him absolutely panicking. Also strangely, I felt SO much older than I actually was at the time. No tunnel of light, no family members none of that but I knew if I got any farther away from my body i might not be able to get back in? At any rate, it was and always will be the most peaceful and serene experience I’ve ever known.

I had colon cancer reconstruction surgery and while in recovery had a bleed out. My artery was nicked. Initially I felt faint but I somehow knew that I had to stay awake. It was a feeling like I was falling. They had to pull a team together and rush me into surgery again as they were giving me blood. I was awake during this time. I asked a nurse if I was going to die and she said she didn’t know but they were doing everything they could to save me. A very strong feeling of calm came over me and I knew if I panicked I would hemorrhage more. None of the doctors and nurses could believe how calm I was. To this day my doctors are amazed at how calm I was. As they we’re putting me to sleep I didn’t know if I would wake up. I spent 8 days in ICU after it. It took almost a year for the feeling of falling to stop before I went to sleep at night but I have no fear of dying.

I almost died of a bleeding ulcer and had multiple blood transfusions I never feel like my body fully recovered from that like I am easily and chronically fatigued most all days. It’s been over two years now.

Although I believe a lot of NDE's can be attributed to the brain being starved of oxygen after "death", fighter pilots experience exactly the same thing when subjected to extremely high G forces, I do actually believe that consciousness is like matter and energy, ie it cannot be destroyed but manifests itself in different forms, Roger Penrose's quantum explanation of consciousness seems good to me.

This reminds me of my one experience with DMT after a week long Ayahuasca retreat. I was pulled out of my body and where it took me felt like the collective consciousness.. it was sublime, pure bliss and love. I spent years trying to interpret what that was.. I feel like our brains are just antennas that are tuning into some sort of quantum frequency which gives us our individual personalities.. maybe the collective consciousness is hidden in some other higher dimension.. or maybe it's hiding in the dark matter we can't seem to find. I think this can explain reincarnation also, because after you die after some time (that we don't experience when we're there), another being somewhere in the universe will be born with the same brain structure which will then tune into that same frequency as their previous life and in some cases be able to recall memories from their previous life. But after time their brain changes structure due to the environment around them and loses that pureness and innocence of youth. That's my theory at least.

I can relate because i did Ayahuasca too, I literally felt like dying, I felt like i reach a point of no return, all of my memories and myself was disappearing until there was nothing else but my consciousness wich was the creator of all the reality as we know. It's like realizing i was actually god having some sort of dream in a human experience, experiencing my own creation. I never told this anyone because i know how crazy it sounds.

As you die your brain goes through changes similar to the effects of anesthesia which alter consciousness. After death, of course, there are no thoughts, emotions or sensations whatsoever, your individual personality simply does not exist any more than it did before you were born.

When you’re asleep do you know you’re asleep?…… When you’re under anesthesia do you know? Same thing when we die…..no sound no darkness no light no feeling no sense of time no sense of being no sense of feel or taste and if they put your body in a crematorium and set fire to it you won’t know that either…….you knew nothing before your arrival and you’ll know nothing after your departure and there you will remain forever.

The stars that created life had to die and release the elements that created galaxies planets and all life and other stars…..The only requirement for life to exist is a host planet with the right conditions. Life is inevitable and abundant and was here throughout the universe which is infinite forever before the milky way galaxy existed and life will go on forever after earth and the milky way galaxy are gone. Nothing can live forever in continuum but life breeds life and that life replaces the dead just as you see here on earth. Life has been here forever and life will continue forever but YOU only live once. Had you never been born you would not have known the wonders that create life only to reclaim it.✌🏻🎸🍺😃💀

When you're under general anesthesia, you have no sense of time so I think death, at least initially after you pass, may be something similar. Not to say that you don't move back into another plane of consciousness at some point. It's the most intriguing subject to ponder for sure.

When i was very young perhaps around 5 or 6 i remember waking up in the morning on occasions and was up facing the ceiling and looking across could see the ceiling light on the same level as me , eventually i was back on the bed, it only seemed to happen when i first woke up in the mornings, weird looking back but can remember it happening like it was yesterday

My experience was I knew I had crossed over and my body was dead and I didn't care about that because I was very much alive. In a most mind-blowing amazing way. You can't actually die. I know that sounds crazy but you will see.

Going is easy but coming back can be terrifying for so many overdose conditions wear the bodies own survival instant and perception is compromised by the nature of the poison.A faulty exhaust pipe and industrial exposure to cyanide both unique return experiences but more mental confusion then anything else remembered as did not flatline but very close with severe shock.

In order for someone to be brought back after they died 24 hours or more later you first have to keep the brain waves active and blood and oxygen pumping through the body to avoid brain damage or other issues.. to understand death and after death you need to test it on a person who is healthy and willing to do the test..

Hindu Mythology believes Soul never dies. It just transforms and until it gets into a new physical body it stays in a state of air.based on the karma a new body is taken to enjoy pleaures and suffer pains. Till the 12th day of death the Soul hovers around the place where it lived and 12fh day by mantras it is sent away to a new world called PITHRU LOK.

I’ve not had an NDE, but I have been out of my body on a few occasions. Abuse, trauma, and stress have been very prevalent in my life. I remember floating above and behind myself while awake and standing. I would also be detached from what was actually happening to me at the time. I was just an observer, no emotion, or judgement, just watching. We know very little about consciousness, next to nothing actually.

After i year i did Ayahuasca I start to actually understand everything about Buddhism, it took me some time to meditate who i am and who is everyone else, i realized we all are one. We all came from a single consciousness, everything, this reality and the universe came from this single consciousness, what they might call "the singularity"

yes when i died from overdose i had cpr done by 1 person for 26mins and then min i fell out when i went up i knew instantly i was dead.

I actually died once but didn't know at the time, back then when I was using, I overdosed by 1% and I should've stayed dead but my body overcame the dosage, during this time, I dreamed of super old memories that I seen in dreams when I was about 1 to 5 or possibly before I was born, it was almost like an acid trip mixed with being high asf with Zaza(I was using perkesets), I seen weird random unknown words but somehow understood what language it is at the time, but dunno what it means now, it was something that brought peace as I was seeing nostalgic things that feels like i seen about a billion times even tho it felt like i seen it when i was born at the same time.. I don't remember how I woke up but I just woke up and acted like nothing happened til like hours later and remembered the dream I had, I told this to other people/friends and that's when i learned that I died, i quit using after that

This exactly. 25 years ago, I had an emergency appendectomy. When I was in the OR, and they put the mask on my face, the surgeon said "count backwards from 100." I remember getting to 99, and the next thing I was aware of was waking up in the recovery room. I had NO awareness of of anything in between (as it should be!). So if I had died on the OR table, "99" would have been it.

Yes you know you are dead. I have a NDE 1995 and woke up in a other dimension with no physcal matter and know instatly that I was dead, I was not afraid just feel like I was very small, like a singularity. Now I know consciousness is separate from the body and not a product of the brain. Years after this event I began to study the Upanishads and found answers to many of my questions.

When did being conscious of an afterlife begin? I wonder if earlier humans like Neanderthals or Cro-Magnon had a soul or were conscious? Or did it begin when our brains were developed enough to receive and perceive it? Then brings in the question about other animals. We give dogs and cats a soul because they're pets and part of the family but all the animals we eat for food we don't (but should) give a second thought

I'm not gonna lie, I've had 10 or more "drug over dozes" and numerous "out of body experiences" I mean what are the chances of surviving them all. I mean think about it, what are the odds of surviving so many "nde's "?. Sometimes I wonder if I died and entered another dimension similar to this one. So I died in one and survived in an alternate dimension. I mean what are the odds? .....Any ideas ?

I think that there must be something after death. You know the saying nothing lasts forever? It's the same with death. Because it's physically impossible for infinity to exist, everything is finite. I think that you go to heaven or hell when you die. And I also sometimes think that reincarnation happens. Even if those aren't real, I think that when this universe ends, everything ends. I think that when this it ends, a new universe gets created, and then in that new universe you get reborn as a random creature, so i think life is eternal. And the thing is, it will feel like 0 seconds passed because you have no sense of time when dead. We will all find out one day

Several times in my life I've had a dream experience where I was able to control events inside the dream. And this wasn't one of those nebulous foggy dreams, but sharp 4k video, Technicolor stuff. They are astonishing and tremendously fun. And when you come out of it you want to go back immediately. But always unsuccessfully. I'd never heard of it, so I called it "Directed Dreaming." Then one day in my doctor's office I told him about Directed Dreaming and he told me what I was describing is Lucid Dreaming! It had a proper name and my doctor had studied it briefly in medical school! As far as I can tell they occur just below consciousness but above actual dreaming. They only occur maybe once or twice per decade and you cannot control when they will come. I wish someone would study them and try to find a way to make them come more often.

You can learn to control lucid dreaming very quickly. Most will manage it in about two weeks of trying. Stepping back in is just as easily learned. Intent is the secret to it all.

I accidentally have lucid dreams often...... I unfortunately love to sleep way too much and have slept most of my life away and the way I have to force myself to fall asleep due to my adhd, is by thinking of the same storyline I've been dreaming about since childhood..... it's like my mind has wrote a novel as a kid and I just revisit it every time I go to sleep...... I think because of this is why I am able to have them so often but IDK

If we scientifically proved we have a soul and there is without any doubt an afterlife , the entire world would change that very second. Everyone who did and didn't believe would now live happier with little to no anxiety, everyone born from that moment forward would grow up knowing there's more to life than just this temporary physical, we would no longer be overly concerned about trying to live longer n longer, the whole grieving process would lessen greatly, we would all live more carefree and be a less violent world in general... on the other hand, if science declared that we now know without any uncertainty that our brain 100% creates consciousness , the world would be a living hell far worse than it is now. Many people who once believed or were on the fence of believing would now live with more bitterness and be more willing to commit crimes of all sorts because they now know there's no actual purpose or possible repercussions once they die ,people who are already of a criminal nature would become even worse, all religion ceases forever, greed would worsen, grieving would be even more sad and much much more... all with the answer to the question of if there's life after death or not....

from the experience of Transcendental Meditation I have concluded we are consciousness inhabiting a body. This consciousness is never harmed but can only experience through a vehicle like a body which has it's own brain to interpret sensation. With practice one can learn to place one's consciousness outside the body and outside of time. One can even place one's consciousness into another being and experience their perceptions. Real life has no form but adopts one according to it's preferences.

First of all this is quite simple; we all live forever! Sounds crazy? But really think about it logically; to be alive you HAVE to have AWARENESS to know it; nobody is conscious and doesn’t know it. In other words, you can’t be aware you are dead, because to be aware of it, you’d have to be CONSCIOUS! You can only know being CONSCIOUS - so you can only know BEING ALIVE! Because you cannot know when it has ended (like sat in a corner of a room in the dark somewhere and say to yourself ‘I remember being alive’ , as far as you are AWARE - it goes on forever, and ever, and ever... For it not to be like that, you’d have to be AWARE, in turn CONSCIOUS, in turn ALIVE to know your life has ended - hence you can’t be DEAD! Try to think before you were born - you can’t, because you’d have to be AWARE, CONSCIOUS, and ALIVE in order to think to yourself ‘I don’t exist yet’. You have always been alive - and you will always be alive. It’s only other people who THINK you are dead, because they are CONSCIOUS - in turn AWARE, in turn ALIVE to think it. Put simply; if you can’t be aware something has started (being born) or ended (being dead) then it has no beginning or end. It is eternal!

As ever, we don't know and probably never will know whether souls even exist. If they do they reside in a parallel dimension which is separate to our physical bodies making them undetectable to science. Basically, it's a load of bollocks.
