I remember my first F3 playthrough because it was the first time I really played a game like that. So naturally I walked out of the vault and turned right on the road, which most experienced F3 players will remember is one of the many random encounter locations. Needless to say one of the magnificent bugs of Fallout 3 happened and I was greeted with a fully armored Enclave Soldier with a plasma rifle 45 seconds after leaving the vault.
I made a wrong turn straight out of the vault and ran into the mugger with no ammo. I was able to point out that his gun was empty but then he came at me with a melee weapon. After taking him down I had to get my brother who only recently started his first playthrough as well to guide me back to megaton. I felt silly realizing how obvious it was.
This is an amazing mod idea! If anyone reading this happens across someone making a mod around skills perhaps mention this to them! It would be easiest and extra funny in Fallout 4 having the nuke instead drop when you exit the vault lol, even have pre-war sanctuary there, would require a loading screen to switch to post war sanctuary tho.
You wouldn't have much context if it was your first playthrough though. The deputy's severed head just lets you know there's a bomb that wasn't as safe as advertised, no real proof of a town there unless they added new lines for ghoul Moira
Was gonna say, played 3 way more than new vegas, but Ive still crashed more in new vegas. But new vegas has so many more little things about it, it's like fallout 3 part 2 and 3. If fallout 3 had a true sequel. More of the fallout 3 goodness. Take all the bland samey-ness out of fallout 3 and replace it with tons of little stories, characters, dialogue, and environmental storytelling, and youve got new vegas.
@@memesarentfunny2248Even if you don't nuke Megaton at all, all the surrounding area gets extra green though. Capital Wasteland is 80% of times green, the other 20% is orange
In new Vegas if you put your luck all the way down and the rest of your stats as high as you can go. Doc says something like " this doesn't make a lick of sense, you must be the luckiest sun of a gun in new Vegas"
He has a comment for all of the stats if they're either above 8 or below 2 or 3. Low charisma is "must be some frontal lobe damage" and high luck is "I'm surprised that bullet didn't just turn around and climb right back in the gun"
Thought it would be the fabled sky deathclaw that sometimes spawns in the neighborhood near megaton lol Edit: bro I’m so glad others actually know what I’m talking about. It almost feels like a distant memory that possibly never existed but I still remember that fucker one shotting me after leaving the school with all the raiders haha
New vegas has rare invisible deathclaws. Luckily they cannot attack you. All you can see is their shadows. They watch you and rotate to stay looking at you, but dont attack. It was super creepy the 1st time i saw it lol. Couldn't target in vats either, but just swinging a weapon at it worked.
I remember one of the first games I started, I immediately ran into talon company mercs straight out of the vault and got blasted. No idea why I kept playing after that, but Fallout 3 is now one of my favorite games of all time.
0 luck -takes G.O.A.T test -failed (somehow) -gets kicked out the vault -water chip got eaten -megaton blows up (you didn’t do anything) -dogmeat dies -dad disowned you -mom also disowned you (rolled over in her grave) -dies to a can…
And here we see the avarage Fallout fan in it's natural habitat the comment section. Thinking that this would be a good gameplay feature, while somehow also bringing in the "BeTheSdA bAd ObsIddIaN gOoD". They make for one toxic fanbase
growing up fallout was my favorite series and my stupid kid brain thought “hmm strength=more damage” so i always maxed it out so my build was strength 10 and everything else 5
Same I used to put all my points into strength for every RPG i ever played 😭😅 now it varies but for RPGs that I have a tough time in you can bet your ass all my points are going into endurance.
I put a save in before the choice, played it keeping them alive, but every once and a while i will reload the prior save and bathe in megaton's radioactive glory
Reminds me of my first FO3 playthrough. Don't recall my luck, but my first encounter after leaving Vault 101 was a deathclaw. You can imagine how that went.
Anyone remember the Fallout 3 website with the tv you change stations and see different aspects of the game? Fond memories of first getting into this game.
14:02 - Fun fact: The reason Godzilla barely uses the Atomic Breath, and why when he does it's more of a fire blast than the traditional beam, in this movie is because of the Muto's EMP. That EMP Ability was specifically evolved to counter the Zilla Race's strongest attack back in the ancient times they were all still around and one of the reasons why they were rendered all but extinct, however Godzilla is such an absolute beast he still managed to force one out with enough focus. (This is also why the second one actually starts to regain a bit of it's beam look as the EMP was growing weaker due to the female Muto's fatigue)
Love your series, your methods and thank you for all the tutorials. Loved the mist generators. Definitely made it simple for me to understand. Cant wait to see the rest of this story play out. Its definitely going to be inspiration to think of a story for my next fort.
I did that once and as i walked out of vault 101, i got blasted in the face with a sniper rifle by a random encounter that i never saw, it turned out to be the lone raider Sam Warrick. I thought my character unalived herself
One of my favorite details if you’re playing a 1 luck character is that sometimes if you destroy eye bots there’s a random chance a vertibird attack squad will show up and kill you.
My second save I made ever, I set my luck at 10 just to see what would happen. I was attacked by a Deathclaw THE SECOND I KEFT THE VAULT, only to be immediately saved by a team of Brotherhood Outcasts with a gatling laser.
The first time I played I was so fucking dense and oblivious that I couldn't find where to go, so I missed megaton and just wondered the wasteland looking for a settlement, the first one I actually found was tenpenny tower.
On one of my first ever play throughs I got the ufo encounter at like level 2 right near the super duper mart. A raider beat me to the alien blaster drop and obliterated me.
Fallout 3 was the first Fallout I tried. No tutorial. No direction. No idea what I was doing. Fallout 4 got me back to playing any more Fallout period with its amazing tutorial.
