Wow I've never seen someone build a 3v with so much attention to detail. I've also never seen such a lack of hate on the 3v itself in the comments. A welcome change for sure!!!!!

The 3v gets so much hate there not the fastest mustang ever but 05 to 09 in my opinion is the best body style

I think the 3 valve is a great engine, sure not as good as a 4 valve but still a good engine. It would make a great swap engine for an old hotrod, they make enough power to be fun and not overwhelm the chassis on an older car and the price is dropping.

@@anthonylaudano9751 Yup...I'd love the new 5.0 in my car but it isn't worth the money or effort to do so. I've read up on the swap and you're talking around $15k said and done for a respectable car. Might as well just spend $10k and have Shelby rockin the 5.4 :) Or using the money spend on an '05-'09 and getting a low mileage Termie, upgrade pullies and be done for the day >:) *gear mashin*

@@zacharymiller6117 maybe, he's at 5000 ft above sea level. Maybe that's a factor? I dont know what my 0 to 60 time is, but my stock mustang did the 1/4, 14.02 @ 103 mph.

I'm loving this road to 700 hp. Great info in each vid! I'm currently running a Lund performance 93 tune on my 12 Gt and looking for a custom tuner. Your info on starting with cai, custom dyno tune and full exhaust is spot on the best bang for the buck Can't wait for the next vid!

Fellow 3v owner here...Since you’re gonna be adding boost, get cams that are made for it. Also since you wanna go fast I would recommend coilovers simply because an air suspension system would add more weight

I recently purchased a 2009 3V w/ a crap ton of miles and a slap worn out suspension, that they threw in for free. I love your video's and I absolutely love the direction you took your car! It is exactly the direction I had planned for my car, before I even purchased it. I want to thank you for these videos, seriously, THANK YOU, that get my car exactly where I want it to be, performance wise, with out the painstakingly trial and error portion that I am so used to with all my other project toys. and in the end you will spend outrageous amounts of money we all do. it starts with some tail lights then head lights then exhaust and rims or gearing oh then super chargers and it just gets worse and worse. Don't fight it just go with it cause it always wins

Love your content and commitment to the 3v. My wife and I recently picked up a well-maintained 2006 GT Premium. It has 208,000 miles on it, but I could not believe how well maintained it was. Opening the hood, you could eat out of the engine bay. I got lucky and found one that had been taken care of my the prior owners, and I got to know the history of the car. The last owner even turned out to be a family friend on my maternal side, so he knocked a thousand off! It's bone stock with Flowmaster Outlaw series exhaust, and I cannot believe how well it pulls, even with so many miles. Wish I had your skills and resources!

thanks ryan. by the time ford came out with this mustang, they had been building modular motors for about 15 years. they are super reliable and rarely have issues. i could see them getting to 300,000 miles w/o a rebuild.

After using an under drive pulley kit for 5 years, I finally reverted back to the stock pulleys about 2 months ago. I began monitoring vitals via Torque Pro about 3 years ago and noticed that my operating temps in heavy stop/go traffic in the summer would routinely get above 215 with no AC & 240 with the AC running. I live in the OKC area where its commonly hits 90+ with 70%+ humidity starting in June ~September. During the cooler months normal operating temp no AC would be about 200 and 210 with AC. I've upgraded to the GT500 cooling fan, replaced coolant pump and replaced degass bottle cap. So far with the stock pulleys re-installed my operating temp no AC has is about 192 and so far with AC the peak I have seen was 206 (we hit 92 with about 60% humidity a few days ago). Keeping my fingers crossed that I continue to see lower temps in the peak hot/humid season. Certainly hope to keep it well below 240.

Dude! Your videos are top notch!!!! Love your excitement and love for your car! I am in a process of builing up my short block. Goal is 650rwhp on d1sc procharger! All supporting mods are there built trany, built suspesnsion some 555s and other bolt ons. Cannot wait to finish mine and cannot wait to see the end result of yours!!!!!! Keep it up 3v brother!!!!! Little advice not sure if you have done it or not.Next time you do pulls turn off all your accessories and ac, turn the traction off. Also which tires are you running? Your car looks sooooooo gooooooood!!!

It has been rebuilt by a local transmission shop, rated to 1k horsepower. It has all the properties of the 5R55S street fighter. Great info!!!! I have a 67 Ford Galaxie I wanted to do a coyote swap but that will set me back a few in terms of getting the car completed I came a across 2007 GT motor and tranny with only 1500 miles for $2500 and runs great was a lil skeptical but after watching your vids I think it will do fine for a year or so.

I considered doing this exact upgrade on my natural aspirated 05 saleen. The parts are around 2100, dyno tune 900 and labor 600. I decided not to chase hp and remove the OEM parts because it would decrease the collectors value. The Saleen is factory tuned for 93 octane combined with shorty headers and aluminum drive shaft I’m happy with the low end torque at 320hp now. That intake and throttle body are beautiful though!

You need one of those cyclone things to put in your intake tube, along with one of those magnetic fuel ionizer things to put on your fuel line. 15% HP gain for $49.99!

You really need to do Lower control arms and relocation brackets. Will greatly improve your acceleration. Lowering the car without the relocation brackets puts the LCA geometry way off and when you launch the LCA's will actually make the tires break loose instead of plant into the ground. Will be a good comparison for the 0-60 and 20-80. Will help with grip for shifts as well. Its a great compliment mod. If you want power you need to beable to put it to the ground. Also look into KW coilovers. Better option IMO. Well any corner carver will say that. Great vid. Looking forward to the next. Subbed

I have a 3v 2010 and done a build on it and tunes a friend does and does a lot of data logging and changes things around and pick up some hrs power, I have the ford racing intake manifold did take of the throttle body spacer still have factory throttle body with cold air intake jlt 3 series with the mutha Thumpr cams did do big springs and keepers with jba ceramic long tube headers and jba pipe with borla catback atak axle back exhaust, with coilovers, 1st gear I can get up to almost 40 and 3 up to 120 still working on it thought sexond gear isn’t as good as 1st and 3rf

If you do get the cams make sure you change the gear differential to 4.10 because you will lose a little low-end torque however you will gain more top end torque on the interstate.

A good tip!!!plz read Don’t buy underdrive pulleys they cost the same as a electric power steering rack from a 2012-14 mustang and install a electric one delete the hydraulic pump and you will get 7-10 hp 😃😃 that’s what I did and deleted a/c !! I only drive my alternator and my water pump !! I may delete the water pump in the future with an electric one I am not sure because I want me car reliable ...

Take a look at Suspension Techniques XTA Coilover setup. Affordable -about $1300ish but they have a yearly sale that knocks $250 off that, engineered by KW, rides well, and has rebound and height adjustment.

I had to sub bro even tho I prefer mopar, the challenger 6.4L in 6 speed manual has a special place in my heart, but.. i sure do admire & appreciate a good clean build whether its Dodge, Ford or Gm😁👌. I remember in late '04 i was so close to getting a '05 GT, my favorite lookin stang body style is the '05 - '09 bcuz of the retro style followed by the '03/'04 cobra. You got a great car i kno I'll enjoy watching this beast get modified 👍👍✌

I cant wait to get my GT. The wife already agreed in 3 years I can get a project car. Told her i was getting S197 Mustang V6. After looking at prices a used V6 cost almost as much as a GT. It cost more for a Exhaust then just Starting with a GT. I'll be happy if I can get at least 300 HP, 500 would be better.

Definitely. Throttle body upgrade is really only good for high-boost applications (10+ PSI).

Your videos are great man. I miss my 07 I had a vista blue gt jba long tubes off road x pipe and ford racing exhaust with blow by racing stage 1 cams on a crappy tune it made 330 hp to the wheels not to bad. Was a fun car.

I gotta ask all of you about all of your recommendations for improving rear traction...specifically in a format of: With 350 rwhp, get “this” With 400 rwhp add “this + that” With 450 rwhp add “all other toys” Etc...to FourEyes’ goal of 700 rwhp. I didn’t see these things in the build sheet. Ideas? Thanks

You need a short shifter (Hurst shifter)man you’re going to LOVE it. I have it on my 07 gt and it makes it really easy to shift. That’s the only thing missing in your car now 👍🏽

Amazing video, own an 05 gt with an edelbrock supercharger. Good to see someone building a 3v engine while most videos are about s550. I do wonder what rack and pinion you replace for you 3v since I might looking to do it soon?

you can improve your dyno results if you use 110 octane racin fuel. 1/3 tankful the 110.

Air lift performance suspension would be a good addition to the car. CJ pony sells the kit, if I'm not mistaken.

I’ve been happy with the Ford Performance intake manifold, but I also have the hot rod cams. We’re planning a dyno day here in Vegas, I’ll let you know what it puts down.

Good numbers on the dyno, well put together video ! this just backs up what my butt dyno told me lol. Lost torque gained top end power with the frp manifold.

CLPATTERSON Same here, but I used the Steed delete plates. Can feel the reduced torque at low end, but that hit at 4000 rpms is fantastic. Almost didn't use them based on the video about the Ford Racing manifold, but since I already had the tune made for them I put them in and have no regrets.

The only way to make real power out of the 3 valve Mustangs to add boost it's the only way either that or nitrous because other than that everything else is just going to be a slight gain at best.

agreed stock everything with w edelbrock would have given him 460Hp with matching torgue for about as much as he spent on the stage two stuff throw in a tune and some cams and well he would need 200 more hp to make his goal

This is a great video. You are doing a great service for people by putting out your information and experience for others to see in a well-presented format. It's probably been discussed before, and I'm not here to start an argument, but do you think for your time and effort, a Roush TVS 2300 style blower kit would of been an alternative? It would of gotten you to over 400 whp for a little bit more time and money and when you decide you're ready for more, there's still a lot of blower left to grow into after you get a forged short-block.

What I am doing is not an efficient approach. I don't recommend anyone follow my path here. A supercharger is a great approach since you can get more-than-stock coyote power for like $7k.
