When i reached my 30s, i felt so worthless because i didn't finish college, i was making minimum wage money, and I was single, had no house, and was in debt. The hardest step i had to do was infact was to fall apart. I was homeless for 3 months, i was with a woman i didn't like at the time, and i lost all my savings soon after. I constantly questioned my choices and tried to work faster, harder. Realizing there is no easy way out of this mess, that if i wanted to build my self, i had to change my character. I was promoted in my job, left that woman, moved into a tiny house, and been working on paying down my debt. I would say that the biggest lesson i learned from my journey was to have faith. Faith in my dream and my future self. Without it, you will fail consistently, and it will drive you mad. Take time to listen to your self and check in with your self. After the whole mess, this back in 2022, I realize i love taking pictures and so i bought my first camera back in christmas. My hope is to become a pro in time.

@purplesky4157 I will be frank, that doesn't help someone like me. I'm a person who believes in the journey of the individual and how he is able to overcome the challenges that life gives. Faith in one self is something people don't know how to do, and it bites them in the rear every time. This is one the reason why people turn to God in the first place, to believe in something bigger than them, not imagining who you are trying to be, is just as grand and amazing. Don't sell yourself short.

Congrats on being able to get out there. But why would you commit to a woman you don't like in the first place? I mean, I am all for your success but the "woman" part wasn't so good to hear.

didn’t do much after my degree, just travelled, socialised, worked here and there. At 29 I became a digital electronics engineer, At 40, I started again as software developer. I’m 45 and still enjoying technical stuffs, also working on a side project of an app. I had the most disorderly career! No regrets, that’s how my brain works, I couldn’t get stuck in a job for a decade !

This is so relevant. I turned 30 last year and I made it a comittment that it was going to be a year of change and turning point in my life: I traveled to three countries on my own and joined the army. The military made me appreciate my travels and freedom ive had in the past. Now im back from the training at 15% body fat, alot of money saved up, and a stronger state of mind. I have a stable job that I appreciate and looking foward to advance in the career ladder. I dont have a house, wife, or kid tho so people may see im behind as a thirty something but none of that really matters because I know they can hold you back too despite being accomplishments. Life is a matter of perspective. No one is going to care but you.

@lordkent8143
@lordkent8143 7 месяцев назад
@@SonicUmami I did man, but I don't recommend lol. Like it's not really a physical limitation thing, (you don't need to be that fit to get through military training). It's kind of like what Wanhee said, you'll be among a lot of younger men (18 and 20 something year olds) and it's more of a mental challenge than anything. It's like going back to high school where the drill sgts treat you like a kid or even like a prisoner. And as someone who is 30, you already went through a lot of stuff and enjoyed your freedom, seen the world, and being subjected to immature people and a lot of BS the military puts you through makes it not worth it in my opinion. But hey, there are also a lot of other people I met who did it at 30 or a few years older when I went. They all got reasons to join. Definitely talk to a recruiter and do your research. Don't rush it. Because once you sign, the military owns you (and they will keep you from going home too).

I was forced by my parents to go to nursing school after high school. I was a dancer and a creative but they knew an arts degree wouldn’t pay the bills. Now 32, been a nurse for 11 years and I am a shell of a person I once was. Working in healthcare ruined my mental health and now I’ve decided I no longer want to suffer. Quitting my high paying, “stable job” is causing me a lot of anxiety because nursing is all I’ve known. But my gut tells me I need to leave. Still trying to figure out what I want to do. Im so scared to start over. But excited to leave healthcare for good.

I came across this video just today. I'm currently 32 years old. I've been working as a Software Engineer for the last 7 years (spend 5 years in college). I'm currently finding myself feeling very lost. I feel as though my passion to create and solve engineering problems has almost completely gone away. I'm having trouble putting my attention and focus on anything right now. I've truly never faced anxiety like this ever in my life and I'm trying to find the answer to "What do I want from my life?" Or "What do I want to do with my life?" It's been a few weeks now and I still haven't found the answer. I've taken some sick leave from work to give myself time and space to think about where I want to take my life.

This subject really resonates with me at the moment. I've felt so conflicted about what to do recently. At 30 I had an epiphany about what I wanted to do, it's in a creative field. It felt crazy but I followed my gut and went back to college and retrained in it. I tried to do it as a business several times but kept failing or experiencing massive external life changes and bereavements that resulted in me repeatedly stopping working because I was in a very bad place mentally. I finally opened my creative business last year but I've been v anxious about money and worrying I'm being irresponsible as I'm now 40. I was wondering about training in IT part time alongside my business to give me a plan B especially since I'm not married. Everywhere I look I get conflicting advice, some people say 'follow your dreams/gut' while others say 'do whatever pays the best' and I think both types of people have a point. I'm doing journaling, meditation and goal planning to help me figure out what to do.

I’m tuning 34 in May and been thinking about leaving my job multiple times since 2023. I love what I do, but management sucks so it’s miserable working there 99.9% of the time. However, I remember struggling in my 20s to be where I’m at today so now I’m at the Hannah Montana point in my life the “life’s what you make it, so let’s make it rock” and I’m going to rock 2024! I have some plans to do things this year, they’re not concrete so I’m anxious about those, but they’re plans that I’m stoked about. The info about 30s being the new 20s is true because I did NOT have NOTHING together in my 20s. And with how the economy changed and the life expectancy I’m planning for marriage and etc. near or around 40. I’m not rushing anything anymore. Life is just going to life so I might as well sit back and enjoy the ride 😎

I find this really refreshing and terrifying at the same time. I'm 26 and actually living that anxiety of acting by inertia and not knowing where to go. I'm scared I'm gonna hit 30 feeling and living this way, like it is too late to reinvent myself and do something that could make feel full. I recenlty decided to wait patiently and have good experiences until I find that something in my life. In the midtime, I'm gonna continue with my "decent" regular job and life, and use that sensation of emptyness as a reason to keep searching for something greater, and maybe sooner than later I will be able to get my S**t together.

Personally I've always wanted to do YT and coaching about languages and life in general but I wasn't confident enough so I started off with asmr which I actually enjoy more than I thought but still I think in the future I should try a different type of content. Besides now that Im back at my mom's house I find it difficult to find the space and time to film the way that I would like to. Cant wait to have my own place tbh. I can relate to the anxiety and pressure thing. I'm 31, im finishing my master in philosophy in april and I also studied acting, piano, singing and languages. Since I've been going to the gym on and off (depending on how I was doing healthwise) in the last 10 years I would now like to take a course to become PT and work in the gym. Working out changed my life and my health for the better and I really feel the need to help them others in some way. The gym was the first environment where I started to feel stronger even mentally, it was like my escape, this lil home that felt safe and happy. I hope dots will start connecting soon in my life as well.

I needed this video. I’m stuck thinking about my passion with music and my financial future and I’m leaning towards the latter. It sort of feels like I’m killing my dreams but I always remember I can work on it in the gaps and come back to it later. Hopefully my break before my new job in construction can give me some clarity. Thanks for the video

I know I can things around beginning with my fitness goals. Hopefully discipline from this small area will trickle down into my financial and business goals.

I am 19 years old, this year I am turning 20, although the advice is given for people in their 30s or older, it has honestly resonated with me, I will not say that I have a bad life, not at all, but at the level of purpose or fixed direction for the long term. I can't find the common thread and as a result it makes me anxious. I will trust in the process and that my good habits, choices and the set of good actions will connect and give rise to future success. Of course I will also make an effort to look for it and put myself in situations where I can obtain it, thank you very much

Did this. Started over at 30. Discarded and cut off toxic people out of my life. Moved to a different place. Never had much money, but I used up what little I had. Yes, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Yes, I felt like a failure. Yes, my way of life had to change. Yes, I cried myself to sleep for many nights. Yes, it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

30 was a year of crisis for me, for sure. I left a 6 year relationship and ended up in another one right away, which ended in divorce a couple of years later. Now I’m 40 and couldn’t be happier. Everything I wanted came in it’s own time, when I settled down and let go.

28, Black (Caribbean/Chinese Descent) American. Bachelors Degree. Masters Degree. Completely disheartened in life. Almost gave up. Felt like God told me to "break the flow" right before Christmas 2023 & I left my home. Currently in Georgia living with a friend's family - with no job. Had a perfect job opportunity at a tech job line up (degree, experience, certifications all matched) & I was ghosted. Was just told today that I was qualified for Officer School in the US Navy. The military was never in my goals, but where I am now, it almost feels like I have no other options. But, I look at it as a step into something.. anything. Do I agree with the US government, maybe not totally, but I need a break, a change, a difference. I think this video and your experience just might have convinced me to make the leap. I'll try to trust that the dots will connect.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RU-vid channel 10 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,914 subs and > 2k hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

I'm grateful for my big brother who urged me to go to college in a new city when I wanted to stay and be around my friends. That's when I discovered a superpower - the ability to easily adapt to new environments. It's not just moving to new cities or countries anymore. At 46 years old I pivoted from a corporate job to doing something creative. Don't ever fear change it's actually in our dna to explore and grow.

I've always been a smart guy growing up but now as an adult I realise and see that most people are really chasing the same things in life and pat each other on the back when they accomplish it for example the white Pickett fence, married, children, good career and that's good but most of the times it's what society programme's us to be. The real smart people are those who are true to themselves and don't blindly chase what everybody else wants of them.

I turn 30 this year. Made a lot of mistakes throughout my twenties and I can say I learned a lot about my own values. I value stability, whether financial or in relationships. I just started my apprenticeship at an electrical union and have a bright future lined up with lots of growth and opportunities. Keep your head up, and make the decisions your future self would be proud of ✌️

Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for making this. I turn 30 next month, I served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps and after 2 tours overseas, I decided to get out and go to college. Studied computer science, worked at Amazon as a Machine Learning engineer. Worked for the Clemson Football team, worked on popular games, then lastly as a telephone engineer. I hated it and decided to go back to school for music production. In November, I had the pause you mentioned and realized I really enjoy the whole content creation game plus playing music and sharing my passion for music, men’s mental health, and philosophy. I’m still learning how to build it all out, but I am about to break 1k subs and 4k watch hours since I decided to make the first few videos in November. Everyone in my family, except my wife, thinks I’m crazy. I thoroughly enjoyed my cup of coffee this morning hearing your testimony. I wish you the best and would love to hear about your experience in the Korean military. I was focused mainly in Northern Africa, but I’ve had some buddies do bi lateral training with you guys and had nothing but upmost respect. Either way, I’m subbed and looking forward to more videos!

Loved the video and how you explained things. I got quite the laugh when you mentioned, if you have that person who encourages you to try things and do something different, if they tell you not to try a certain thing, you may want to give it a rethink lmao. Definitely. If your person who typically encourages you says…hmmm maybe not…think on it a bit more 😂😂😂

What I've learned is no matter what level you reach, there will be some kind of failure or shortcoming, and ultimately you'll experience multiple starting over moments (some bigger than others). Its important to keep in mind to never give up or never settle. The key is to continue getting up when you are knocked down, because that's where others will throw in the towel.
