the legend remember the STAR system with 5 stars for adm,diplo and mil. The countries being ranked each according to their situation and strength, taking a triple 1 star country and bringing it to 5 stars was massive fun, especially in the first versions of the game. The first game i played was in the 1.10, the first version, i picked scotland and remember pretty well forming Britain by just owning Britain and not ireland, not going colonial(colonies were horrible and you owned the land by yourself). My economy was so poor i could not afford maintaining my armies and got carried by france. Another was as theodoro and I was mad because I nocb imereti and I couldn’t make them cede the provinces, I just occupied them. So then I nocb hisn kayfa and dulkadir. All the Middle East landed in Crimea a few weeks later. I’ve figured out a lot like the importance of states, crownland, low autonomy, and tactical bankruptcy. You also want to keep a strong army no matter the cost to beat separatists and nobles, but you have to limit expansion so you don’t fight stacks bigger than yours.

I remeber the first time I played as Fance, and I was following Red Hawk's guide for a while until I realized that half of the things he wanted me to do wasn't possible without DLC. After that I decided to quite the guide and go on a conquering spree. Not before long I had to learn what aggressive expansion was the hard way.

I remember trying Venice a few times, and got game-overed by Austria and/or Hungary every time. My first successful game was a passive colonisation game as Portugal where I reached the goldcap. This was back with the old building system, when buildings cost monarch points to build, and you could only build a limited amount of each. I eventually got killed by a France that had eaten all of Spain during the 1700s, but until that point it was great :p

This is exactly the same as my first campaign. Me(In the past): Oh Ottoman is for beginners? Sure I will play as them. (Later): why their army has star on top of them? What do you mean I cannot take everything I conquered in a peace deal. Why the hell do those poor German states join a coalition against me when I take an Italian province and why the hell do they have this many troops? What do you mean I cannot separate peace a coalition member? This game is bullshit! Me(now): lol just wipe them off the map so they cannot join a coalition.

After many hours in Crusader Kings II, my brother and I started playing Europa Universalis IV last week. He played as Morocco, I played as Aragon. Everything was going well, he was conquering Africa, while I had all these personal unions and started some colonization in America. Until one day Castille decided it's stronger than me and doesn't want a union anymore. They were so strong they obliterated both my borther's and my armies. Concede defeat in war? They wouldn't accept! Grant independence? They wouldn't accept! Reload game and dissolve the union peacefully before they attack? I didn't find such an option. At this point it was basically 'no matter what you do, Castille destroys you because reasons'. We ended up using a cheat to integrate them before they attack, because this war completely ruined an otherwise pleasant campaign. And it was the first time I used a cheat in any game in years! (I mean cheating to win, not using cheats for fun) And there's also my single player campaign as Florence, where I dared to take a province in northern Italy :P

my first ever action with personal computer was the Office Word in 2004. I had learnt that I can press any button and that most buttons have thorough description of what it does and why. My first ever game was as Oirat with cheats - i spent 2 days learning all the Ideas, all notifications, battle, diplomacy, trade and economics. I formed Yuan in a week or so. First time I played the game I tried to fo Prussia as Brandenburg. 2 years later and I still can't do it. However I had a great time forming Prussia as the tuetons, that might've even been my best run of the game
@Melodeath00
@Melodeath00 2 года назад
But, forming it as Brandenburg is much easier. You are never really threatened by anybody as Brandenburg, just play a chill game conquering the provinces you need over time. Teutonic Order on the other hand, is in a literal "win or die" situation against Poland, who are much stronger than you. It's not an impossible war by any means, but it's a relatively hard start, very compareable to something Byzanitum or any minor close to Ottomans. Mulitiple restarts might be required for a better diplomatic situation, or it's game over if you do a single mistake during the war etc. The only starts I would consider harder are some of the ridiculous "OPM bordering aggressive major nation" starts that usually have long achievements tied to them. The achievements where No-CBing Ireland or Circassia is considerably easier than staying and fighting.

Started my first game a few days ago with the Oda, who in hindsight might not have been the most sensible choice. Due to very easy difficulty i still managed to unite Japan even though the Shogun tried to get everyone to murder me. And now i don't have a clue how i am supposed to deal with Ming.
@Djidjay
@Djidjay 2 года назад
Horde nations can deal with ming pretty easily because they have super strong armies in the early game but for japan you should do it in 2 steps, first try to make ming explode by reducing their mandate, you can do it simply by blockading all their coasts so they get devastation which reduces mandate a lot then do a real war against them or the nations they released when they are weak
