4:40 Back in the day we called this "going neutral"...the goal was to make the needle point straight down at the N on old column shift automatics (approximately 120 mph)

Quite similar to us, we used to go to H, the speedometer stopped rotating when the needle pointed to the H from km/h that was at 270ish kmh, still had 2000 rpm to go in 5th, highest we got on the first generation gps system was 309 kmh after that it went blank, dont think we got much more out of it though

The Evo with the kid in the back seat reminded me of a dude trying to race me in an f150. I'm in a stock sti with my daughter in the back and this guy pulls up next to me at a 4way stop, it was our turn to go and the dude just takes off. I hate Ford so I stepped on it. I shot past him and my daughter is in the back saying "we beat that truck daddy". I was a proud daddy in that moment. My little girl loves to go fast.

do your daughter a big favor and don't race again with her in the car. i mean, you are her father and can do whatever you want. the problem is not you in such situations - it's the unknown. put a cage in it, 5 or more point belts, full race seats, helmet and fireproof clothing - and do it again. no one should miss fun in life - but do whatever you can to avoid the most sad part in this adventure: death. if it still happens: then it was god's will.

Funny..not like it took much to stomp that f150 I don't think your child's life was jeprodized at 45mph as the other commenter is going on about...funny though iv had 2 mini cooper's one supercharged 6 speed beast of a car for little done like pulley pipes etc and the other was 5 speed jcw package n/a which was basically a b16 si civic but everyone no matter the time the place the car always wanted to race 😉..but when inwas first driving the S I burned some dude in a dodge diesel never left 6th gear on the interstate haha. And in th n/a those scion brz whatever ..dude had a yellow one and he thought he was Paul walker I never tried to race but I always beat him and about the 3rd time in 2 months I was just shitting it on the interstate and here he came so I was like f this guy and he thought I wouldn't follow him at the split I went to 3rd 4th 5th passed him at the over pass polls 110 or 120 and slowed down and he waved out the window..

I would never race anybody with my kids in the car. I don't have kids, but I understand how stupid that really is. You can end your life, but dont bring the kids life with you. I can only imagine what a police officer would say if he pulled you over for street racing and seen the little guy sitting in the back seat. Pretty sure your car is getting impounded and a lot worse. Endangerment of a child, reckless driving and whatever else fits the bill.

@@butterflyeffect2411 honesty, as an Evo owner and the way the prices are jumping, buy an Audi S4 or Mercedes E500. Audi can be bought (depending on year) with a V8 and can walk around at a 500hp tune all day and night without issue on all stock internals and turbo. The V6 is pretty capable as well though. Mercedes has a V8 too and is an extremely reliable engine, it can also come with RWD or AWD. These can be bought for $3000-$8000 depending on condition, mileage and area. They’re capable of a N/A 500hp without issue and often gets twin turbo’d due to the strength of the engine.

LOL 2:02 that is the quietest GT500 I have ever heard. I know because I own one and the whine is completely missing. Had to be a Shelby GT. Even with windows down and loud exhaust, you still hear that wonderful whine.
